Okay, so I'm doing pretty good with the eating healthy now - a few slips every now and than; but I look at it that if I didn't than I wouldn't be human.

Now I'm looking for excersie tapes to try and tone my stomach, abbs and work off the hips / buttocks area. Does anyone have any suggestions? I heard belly dancing is pretty good but I don't know. I'm not up for high impact.

I love pilates - fantastic for toning and low impact - I started with the Winsor pilates 20 min mat workout - plus there are others that concentrate on abs legs, etc. it really does work.

I just got "10 Minute Solution - Target Tone for Beginners" It has five 10 minute, targeted, workouts...one each for abs, buns, thighs, arms and relaxation/stretch. I want to get the 10 minute solution video with the 10 minute workouts of Pilates, kickboxing, boot camp, ballet and yoga.

I'm not sure what you're interested in or what level of fitness you are, but here are some ideas and I list my faves from basic to advanced...

Walk Away the Pounds, Denise Austin, any Pilates, Slim in Six (you may get bored after a while with this one) or Power 90/P90X, Taebo, The Firm, Core Secrets, Cathe Friedrich (basic to advanced).

There are a lot of videos/DVDs out there, really. My fave fitness catalog is www.collagevideo.com and you can view clips. There's also www.videofitness.com where there's a forum and reviews, too.

I like Walk Away the Pounds too. Its pretty easy yet challenging. I have Pilates for Dummies and its pretty adaptable to level you are at. The cardio will help burn the fat off the top and pilates will do good for toning up and buidling muscle to keep it off. :)

You have great suggestions so far!

I will add to the Winsor Pilates. I love the Winsor Pilates 20 and then have the next workout as well. It will make a difference in your life for sure.

Good luck deciding. You may want to try your library for some versions. That way you can try before you buy to help you decide what will be your fav.

Thanks for the suggestions. I bought Pilates for Beginners and Belly Dancing for Beginngers from amazon.com the other night and am now just waiting for them to arrive. I am really not into fitness - I hate it - so hopefully these will at least interest me enough to keep doing them.

I think WATP (Walk away the pounds) is great for someone just beginning an exercise routine, but its definately a beginners workout.

My favorite is The FIRM. Its more intermediate to advance but there is a begninner person in each video who shows the modifications (in the newer video's). They are fun and the results are fantastic.

I think when you have added the weights and not even breaking a sweat or breathing hard you should up milage and or add in "tougher" tapes a few of the days each week until you build up to that level.

I think you will just know by the way your body feels and by an slows in weight loss or inches lost.

well then I guess I am still ok.. just did it and I was sweating and breathing hard!
