Excellent Fast Pass tip

Have you tried to get a FP in the afternoon just to find out FP's are gone for the day?

Maybe someone got those FP's just to maybe use them the next day or the next trip. Is that fair to you?

It's not cheating the system in any way whatsoever. CM's tell you that they are good ANY TIME after the posted time. Minutes later, hours later, days later. Please stop with the haughty self-righteousness.

how is it *not* cheating? if you are told to come back between x&y, and you come back at z, then you are not following the guidelines... so what's the sense? perhaps you also condone taking your fp's back to the hotel, running off some copies and using those as well? it's wrong... just plain wrong...

[sorry, but there are few things i feel strongly about, and breaking the rules is obviously one of them!]

what a silly post. Don't like the rules, work for disney & change them. The rule are what the practice is. The practice (espoused by every cast member we have talked to about it) is that they are good ANY TIME after the posted time. Don't like it? Oh well. don't use them after the time.

i do like the rules and i also follow them, i have no desire to change them because when followed they work well for everyone!

there's a huge difference (imo) between rules and the practice of those that choose not to follow them... *whatever* you do your thing and i'll do mine... i know i'll sleep well at night...

I'm glad that not using a fastpass after its posted time gives your conscience the peace it needs to sleep soundly at night.

There is no difference because the rule is what is practiced. You see, I am following the rules by useing them after the posted time. Keep trying, I'm sure if you think hard enough, you can figure it out.:wave2:

Is it really necessary to be so snippy and condescending in your posts?

I bet if you emailed Disney and asked for the official policy regarding FASTPASS they'd state the ticket is ONLY good during the times on the ticket FOR THE DATE on the ticket even if some CMs are ignoring that policy.

When I see people asserting their moral superiority over the use of fastpasses, yes I am & will continue to be snippy.

I only see differing opinions and you getting snippy. Guess you can't get your opinion across without the attitude.

It looks like you can toss this issue in with the mug issue. The offical policy, signs around the food court, and on the mugs say one thing. However the CMS that work there do another thing.

If you don't want to use an old FP, then don't do it.

Yes, you are right, it is similar I guess.

Just as I wouldn't use an old mug, I wouldn't use a day or two old FASTPASS as when the abuse continues, it ends up hurting everyone in the end, when they have to change, discontinue or inforce the policy due to a few people.

FASTPASS doesn't work the way it was intended if everyone goes whenever they want. That's just a simple fact.

I don't care what anyone does though, but the trying to justify it is what I think is so funny. Just because you can get away with something that is against official policy doesn't mean you should.

i appreciate your posts and agree with you 100% (no surprise there! LOL!)

i did email disney... and here is their response (which seems pretty cut and dry to me, no room for "interpretation")

<<To assist you in making the decision about whether or not to use Disney's FASTPASS, there will be a clock noting the window of time later in the day to return to the attraction with no further
waiting. There will also be a clock showing the current wait time. If you choose FASTPASS, approach the FASTPASS turnstile, insert your theme park ticket and a FASTPASS is generated with your
automatic place in line for a future time that day. You are also given a one hour grace period for flexibility. When you return at your FASTPASS time, simply proceed to the pre-show or boarding
area, by selecting the FASTPASS entrance.

Please remember: Guests must wait 2 hours after receiving a FASTPASS to obtain another for a different attraction. Example: If you obtain a FASTPASS at 9:00 am, you may obtain another, for a different attraction, at 11:00 am, OR after your first FASTPASS expires , whichever comes first.>>

Well, they contradict their own policy EVERY SINGLE DAY. they will give out fastpasses well within the 2 hour period. You see, all of you WDWMP out there, They put these "rules" in writing so they can change things whenever they want. The actual rules are the ones they put into practice. Which, as I have stated, are that you can use a fastpass at ANY TIME after the expiration time.

Another thing. for those of you who stated that you cannot use it after the stated time, even in the email, WDW says you can. People, get a grip.

This isn't true.

When you get your FP there a time on the bottom that tells you when you can get another one. When we were there in April there were times we were able to get a FP 30 minutes after getting the first one.

It's possible to have 2 or 3 FPs at one time.
