Ex-Lg. ECV & SOG/Disney Buses...

We will be staying at the Shades of Green in June and Walker Mobility will be delivering my husband a Heavy Duty Scooter. (They are a little wider than the regular ones.) I thought I read some info recently that had me concerned but I can't find it now. Can the Heavy Duty Scooter fit ok on the SOG and Disney buses? How horrible it would be if they delivered it to us only to find out that they don't fit on the buses. Hoping that someone has some first hand experience they can share. Thanks so much!

It should be OK for the buses but if you take any of the watercraft, then it might not work. I know that I use a regular scooter and it just barely fits into some of the watercraft.

A regular heavy duty ECV rented from one of the local companies should fit in the bus just fine.
I can't access the size information right now, but I believe the ECV must be no longer than 48 inches and no wider than 30 inches. Even most of the heavy duty ECVs are usually less than 26 inches wide. There are some custom made ones that are more like small gold carts. That kind won't fit, but the kind that are typically available for rent will not be a problem on the buses.

I would suggest you call the company back and have them reassure you that the ECV you are renting will fit.

I have rented a heavy-duty scooter from Walker Mobility. They fit perfectly on the buses. Not a problem anywhere for that matter. Have a great trip!

My chair is 32x48 and it fit fine. You just need to operate it with some care so that it will fit. It was tight but doable.

I did get very upset with DWD buses becuase their lifts on the buses did not work and they had left me out in the hot sun. One time it took them about 1 hour and 45 min to come get me with a bus that worked. yes I was upset and saddened by it. It happened over 9 times. I did not go to as many parks as I would have like too becuase I did not want to get stuck out there. I got home about 12 midnight each night that I had gone out. That is how long it had taken them to get me.
