EWP group?

 Hello all you crazy and wild  EWP types! :D Welcome to the CB. :bounce:

Hi everyone.

I hope you are all having a fantastic weekend. I am just getting into the back to school stuff here. My DS is starting kindergarten this year and is only going for 1 hour a day. Unfortunatey the school is a 20 minute drive away so I need to stay there until he is done (takes up over 2 hours of my day) and then my DD gets out 1 hour after him (stillno time to drive home). So basically my days have been spent anywhere but at my PC. By mid week next week though life should be back to more or less normal. Then hopefully I can catch up with you all.

Take care everyone and I will be back in residence at the EWP suite very soon!

I am so sorry people. I was in here the other day and tried to post twice and had both disappear. I meant to try again later and got caught up in my hectic life. I had written such insightful, wonderful, perfectly composed thngs too. (grin) I could blame it all on Jstmee as I was trying to give her directions to add our EWP hat and kept slipping out of the forum but I won't as it must have been that new hand cream of mine.

Bashful, I can relate. My 4 year old grandson is going to preschool and I am doing the duty getting him from preschool to daycare each day. I remembered my tactics that I used when my kids were growing up. I used to take 'work' in the car to do while waiting. I even had wipes to clean the inside of the car while wating. It was amazing the things I got done back in the days when I had more to do and even less time than today. You are wonderful to do all these things for your children. It does give you a bit of one on one with your DS while waiting for your DD though. There were times when mine were teens that the only conversations we ever had were in the car (they couldn't jump out). (grin)

Hi there Luv. How wonderful of you to drop by. I checked out your profile. You are our kind of people- Domestic Goddess and warped sense of humor. Please free to move furniture around to suit yourself or even better, just ask Bo Dacious or Don Juan to do it for you. You see here our main living area with complete entertainment center and the newest and fastest in computers, DVD's, large flat screen tv's etc. The enclosed veranda surrounds the suite and there is a Mickey shaped jucuzzi overlooking the lagoon where the EWP saunters by just for our perusal. Pick up your resort credit card at our private conceirge's desk. Thru wise investing we are able to enjoy the Kingdom without the mundane worries of actually paying for anything. Looking forward to sharing adventures with you.

Rider, I am so jealous. My sister went to see "The Producers" for her 50th birthday recently. Naturally she had bought her tickets way back before it was a mega hit so she had wonderful seats at half the price of most around her. I saw a show on PBS with Mel Brooks and company showing the rehearsals. It has long been a dream of mine to see a real Broadway play. I have been to many of the shows after they have long been off Broadway but it is not the same. I wonder, is it possible to drive to the NYC area and then find a tour to take you into the city for a tour and some of the shows? I am not a big city driver, heck I am not even a little city driver. That is one of the big things about Disney, I can drive down, park it and enjoy any type of recreation that I can think of all in one wonderful place.

Thank you for all the kind and thoughtful things you said. As I have already said I was guilty of judging people by their looks also so I was not blameless and I had such low self esteem that I bought the cheapest and ugliest clothes and that did not help things either. I am over all that and have learned so much. I wish it was true that I am healthy though. I have survived better than lots of people who had the operation but there are side effects and they are not very good. I just wanted to scream when I read about Carnie Wilson's surgery. Mostly I wanted to punch her mother who said the day before the operation how happy she was that her daughter was having the surgery and how proud she would be when she lost the weight and was beautiful!!!!! Ahhhhhhhhh!!!! Isn't having a wonderful singing voice, being kind and nice enough to be proud of? Nuff stuff.

Jstmee, you are a queen among women. Taking care of 4 children no matter how wonderful and loving they are is quite a job. I wonder that you have any time to join us at all but I am so very glad that you do. You need to get away now and then for your sake. I will make sure that the 'boys' give you some extra special pampering. About the avatar thing. I am afraid to go back and go through the steps for fear of slipping away again so I will try to go by memory. At the top of the page is "user cp" click that and go to 'user preferences" Go through step by step and choose how you want your options. At the bottom is the area for the avatar (what the h eck does that mean? I am an English major and have never heard that word). They ones preset you can chose or you can do your own. I believe that you type "
" at the end. (Do not include the quotes) You get the url by right clicking on the picture and picking 'properties'. I hope I did that all right. Good luck. You can add any picture to any post by doing this.

Helenabear, I just see you both all cozy in your new home this evening. Am I right? Not being an animal person (scared to death of them and allergic) I might be wrong but I bet if you are moving from an apartment to a home with some yard that your cats will be in heaven once they get used to things. Did you and Luis argue about what went where or is one of you in sole charge of such things? My DH always argues but he loves most of it when I am done. One major fiasco with a bedroom many years ago. He should have told me he did not like the color yellow before I painted the walls. I don't suppose the orange shag carpet helped either. Do I need to mention that this was the 70's? ROTFL My grandson's great grandma came by today to visit while they were here and liked the tile job so much that I am going over and doing over her sink. She is 88 and going strong. Yeah!! I hope all your furniture got moved in without any scratches or dents and you have enough energy left over to life a toast to your new life in your new home. Best wishes Elaine and Luis

Good night my dear friends. I am ambling off for an early evening. Too much fun today for an 'old' lady like myself. Take care and I hope the rest of the weekend is everything you want it to be.

testing image, 123, testing img, now I want to add EWP Groupie. I copied the one from you SG, but can't figure out how to get it in. Do I choose upload? then but img/......../img? If you don't know that's ok, i'll keep trying till I get it. Later friends.

I know this avator thing is probably pretty simple, but, aaargh........I've spent too much time on it. My DH is having a business guest to our house today. This man is from Switzerland. I've been away yesterday for a retreat and my house is a disastor, and what am I doing? Taking some R and R with Bo and Don. I guess I needed it after seeing the disaster in the home. The temperate up here is hot. I have a little sore throat and my daughter does also. Less then two weeks till WDW and I'm panicking that we will all have colds. So much for venting I better go clean.

WTG Jstmee!! You got the hat. I am not sure what happened with the words though. I copied mine from Rider's so maybe that is the key? Maybe Rider can get it fixed when she drops by. I just learn what I need to know as I go along. I wish I had time to sit down and go step by step to really learn what I am doing on the computer but life keeps happening.

The boys were pooped by the time their parents came to pick them up late last night. They were so good and so sweet. There were so many pleases and thank yous and excuse mes that this granny's heart was full of pride. Their parents would have died from shock though. LOL

Jstmee, I am so sorry that you are having a stressful day. Just don't sweat the small stuff. I have found that the 'messes' in my home are mostly in my own mind. When you live in a space you notice small things that a visitor would never notice. Besides there is a good chance that your visitor lives in the 'real' world also and will be more comfortable in a less than perfect situation. I go bananas over cleaning my house. My DD tells me it is because I have picked the 'wrong' friends and I should find less perfect ones. LOL Speaking of 'perfect' friends, they are all coming to my house Wednesday. You should see the list of things I think I am going to get done by then. (big belly laugh). I have a feeling that your visitor is going to be so entranced with meeting your children that they will never notice the Cheerios under the couch cushion. Relax, enjoy and have a nice visit. The place I am most comfortable visiting is the home of a dear friend where we have to push piles of papers around the dining room table to find room for our glasses of tea. It is the company and not the clean that counts IMHO.

Hope your husband gets a bunch of new business from this gentleman and you can afford a maid to take care of all the mundane and uninteresting things of life!!

I am going over to O'Hana for lunch and then a walk around the Polynesian to see what is going on. Anybody want to come along or have a better idea?

OMG, the Swiss man just left and he is another Bo or Don, you wouldn't believe it. Very handsome and very nice. Figured out how to put the avator in, woohoo. Wow I posted a lot today. Guess I needed a virtual place to go. At least the house is now clean, the Swiss man is gone, his name was Skip by the way, and he is married with two children, I gave him a couple of little toys for his girls to take home to Switzerland with him and he took some pics of our family to bring to his family. Now, that I'm done playing with the avator, I've got to get kiddos ready for school tomorrow, cook dinner, etc. Hope everyone had a good weekend. Helenabear, are you rested from your move, or still moving?

Jstmee, the key to most things is tenacity and you have lots of it. Good job. See, I told you the visit by the magnificent Swiss man would go well. He will remember the thoughtfulness of your gifts to his children far more than he will the fact that you dusted the ductwork. (grin) I am glad that all went well and I hope it brings your DH enough extra business to afford an extra trip or at least a longer trip to DW in the future.

I am having a luncheon here Wednesday so I will not be lazing around the pool as I would like. I will crawl in here for the next few evenings to get reguvinated for the following day. All work and no play makes for a very grumpy Goofy!!

I hope you are all having a great day.

Hi all... a quick pop in for a quick get away here at work. We are still moving. We did get our comfy furniture and nice fridge on Saturday and the movers are moving things this Sat. So we should be living there on Friday... I will have to keep you posted later but I wanted to say hi and stop in for yummy food and great atmosphere :D

Just popping in for a minute to see what Helenabear is up to. Comfy furniture and a fridge - what more could a person want? Sounds like home to me already. Most other things are things you have to work with so they are best left until last anyway. LOL

I think I have all the glass picked up and vacumned up from where my DH knocked over the marble topped table last night. He still does not understand why I was adament that he not walk around in the room until I got it cleaned. I am the one who goes barefooted so I know the dangers of ground in glass. Why do these things happen when you already have so much to do? Cest la vie!!!

Off for a quick stroll around the grounds and to check out the gondola that Don had brought to the lagoon just for our use.

Howdy everyone!!! I hope you all are having a great day! I just bought Luis' birthday present. He never wore a watch before and so now I bought him one that he liked. He used to hate the thought of having a tan line but he grew up a little ;) He pointed this watch out to me before so I know he'll love it!

As I said we got some more stuff moved this weekend (hence my absence from here :( ) Our furniture is wonderful and as soon as I get my camera unpacked and batteries recharged, I will take pictures of the newly furnished home. So far we don't fight much with where things go. We have so much more space than before (about 600 on the main floors and 300 in the basement) so we don't have much problem with spacial issues :D We brought the cats over for a visit on Saturday and Cleo LOVED the place. Gwen was a little shy but she seemed to be okay but boy did Cleo just prance around like she owned the place. It was rather cute and that made me happy to know I picked a good place for my babies!

I am shocked by the message sent out in Shrek. I really can't believe that they would have a princess so unhappy with herself that she can't show her true self in public. To me that isn't good. I think you should be happy with yourself and if you aren't then do something about it, but never let yourself get to be a Clasita Flockhart or anything like that. Someone compared her to Audry Hepburn and I about died! Audrey was beautiful and elegant... not wafer thin (granted shew as thin but not deathly thin). She was more like my grandmother... naturally skinny but it didn't look bad. My grandmother is funny too... she always made sure I ate enough because I am not much of a big eater and she was always afraid I would starve. She was always feeling my wrists to make sure they had some meat on them.... silly lady :)

Luis just found another job to apply for that I would love him to get. It would be a bilingual tech support job. My Spanish is so horrid that at least he would be able to speak with someone else in Spanish once in a while. So here's to hoping.

Well I should get back to reality. I have a few things to do but I promise after we move I won't be so busy :D

Helena, I got a kick out of Luis' fear of tan lines. I vaugely remember being that young once but as you age little things matter less and less. If my underwear is clean I am a happy camper nowadays!!!

I am sure glad to hear that your kitties approve of the new home. I bet they would like anywhere that you guys are tho. 900 sq ft. is enough when you are still newlyweds. We have over 3000 and there are some days when we could use some more. LOL

I won at trivia tonight. I am very competitive. Not the kind that gets mad if I lose tho. I am one of those sick people who loves to take tests. I am ducking as I can feel those bricks being thrown in my direction. (grin)

My DD helped put up the last curtain for me when she came to pick up her oldest son. It looks very nice. They are white on white with little floral patterns on the edges that just match the wallpaper perfectly. Once I get the copper panels put into the cabinet fronts I think I will be done with this room and ready to get to the next project. I work kind of slow now. I am also very picky so it makes it harder.

The stars sure are lovely tonight. Sometimes you have to remember what is important and get back to the basics. Even Disney cannot compete with some things.

Hey everyone! Sorry that I haven't been around for a few days! Just wanted to drop by quickly - will try to sneak in some time at work to post again! Hope that all is well with all of you! Will be in touch soon! :)

Today we gather here in the only safe sane place in the world. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the innocent victims of this terrible situation and hope that it does not esculate further and that the people responsible are brought to justice, such as it is in this world. May all your loved ones be safe.

Slightly Goofy, Really Mad and Very Hurt

I pray that all of my EWP friends are safe.

My prayers go out to the people who lost friends and family in this tragedy.

It is a sad day in America when they have to close down Disney World and Disneyland. No words can come to mind to convey the anger, pain and fear I feel. Dear friends, I pray that you and your loved ones are safe and that this thing comes to an end soon with the proper people being brought to justice.

Linda (too focused to be even slightly Goofy today)

I agree Linda, it is a sad, sad day. My prayers are with you all on this terrible day.
Cathy

I cannot say how sad of a day this is for America and the world as a whole. I just pray for those who lost family members, those who are hurt, or have a loved on hurt by this sensless act...

We do have family in the DC area and so far we have doubts that any were hurt, but I will keep you posted!

Dear Cathy - Thank you so much for being a neighbor and a friend. It means so much to people and even a country at a time like this. Helenabear, I am sure that your family and loved ones are safe but it will still be a terrible time for them and all our prayers and support will be needed to help restore their sense of safety. I have a BIL and a nephew in government service that are often in the third world countries and I am awaiting news of where they are. Since they are high ranking officials I would feel that they are probably safe but at a time like this you want them all near. I have left my grands where they are as they need to be sheltered from the newscasts for as long as possible. I am thinking over how to answer their questions and pray for the wisdom to make them be able to sleep well tonight and every night after. God willing that all children in all countries could be granted the same.

Linda

Hi all! I just wanted to let you know that Luis' mom called and she is fine (she works for the Library of Congress). I also heard from another friend in DC and she is fine. I only have two friends left to hear from! So all is looking good! I will definitely be back later tonight as I will need to get away from it all... in the mean time I am going to my Dad's house to pick up some of my old stuff.
