Hi girls! I am checking in and saying HI before all the fun of the weekend...Now much of that fun includes cleaning floors and toilets as 30-40 pals are descending on my house tomorrow at 5pm. I am going to Weight Watchers in the morning so I have STRENGTH, which means eating one piece of cake and not 20. Then on the way home I will pick up the giant cake at Sam's Club. Post-meeting I can be trusted to be alone in the car with the cake.
Caroline, I am a graduate of Lafayette College, Lehigh's nemesis. I f your sister winds up at Lehigh perhaps we can hook her up with my parents, who are dear and would be happy to cook for a homesick Maine-er. They LOVE Maine and would thrill her with tales of their excursions to Acadia Park and Kennebunkport. Let me know if Sis winds up in the Lehigh Valley. Warn her too about the annual Lehigh/Lafayette football game, an event of drunken chaos. I went once and that was enough for me. Too many stupid, drunk fraternity boys charging at the goalpost. Yikes!
Lisa, thanks for planning events in the suite. I had so hoped to turn 40 on Main Street, but it was not to be. Instead I am dreaming of my triumphant return to Polynesia (or Walt Disney's version of it). As I have told you all here, after July 4th is "value" season (whatever that means by WDW standards!). I will also watch for passholder discounts, and I am rapidly accruing reward dollars on my Disney Visa because we keep going to Lowe's for house-stuff. I figure by the time we travel, combining all those discounts, a room at the Poly will be downright "affordable!" No concierge -- I work cheap and can plan myself and drag in my own poptarts and peanut butter, that will have to do... So as always, dreaming of that next trip to Mickey is making me smile, even as middle age bears down.
Hope you all have a great weekend. I will try to post some birthday pics, if I can just remember to take some!
xoxo
