EWP group?

Isn't Rider wonderful! I too have a few post cards that I now have framed on my shelves. They are wonderful and I was grateful to get a picture of the twin towers as well. I have been looking for a picture of them, but unfortunately I cannot seem to find it here or if I do, they really jack up the price big time :(

I must be getting old now since I have no recollection of the cornea transplant ;) I just hope it does good things for your daughter as I cannot imagine what it would be like to be blind in one eye, even temporarily. I do hope it works out for her. A roommate of mine in college had a kidney transplant when she was nine. She has been on anti-rejection meds since then. One thing that happened to my friend was that her breath became really foul smelling due to the meds. She used to chew eclipse gum & now uses the listerine tabs that you can buy. They seem to help with the smell and if your daughter comes across that (which I hope she doesn't) hopefully that might help.

Today I think I might go get my driver's license renewed as well as the tags for my car. Ick I hate getting my picture taken for m license. No matter what you do to try to make yourself look normal for a picture, they somehow have learned how to make the most goreous people look like aliens. I don't understand how they do it. What I find funny though is my driver's license reads 125 for the weight... I don't remember the last time I was 125 and I know certainly I wasn't that when I got it at 16. Oh well, I just dread waiting in line to get all this changed & paid for... I just hope I get lucky and get a smaller line to go through!

Well I think I am going to go for a walk now by the beach and do a little Disney dreaming before I head back to work! I hope you all have a wondeful day!

Hi, everyone. SG, I hope your daughter is feeling better. Wouldn't it be wonderful to have her vision restored, even just a little? Is the pain lessening any yet? When I read your post about preparing meals for her, it reminded me of friends who took turns bringing about a week's worth of dinner to our house after my last baby was born. One friend prepared a delicious chicken divan casserole in a beautiful dish, with a salad, rolls, and dessert, and a couple of bakery sugar cookies for the two older kids, and placed everything in a beautiful basket lined with a plaid napkin. Another couple brought a complete steak dinner and a bottle of wine. Aren't friend's wonderful?

If any of you have the opportunity to pick up a copy of Southern Living magazine, there is a nice article about Mobile in it. Also, the Senior Bowl was televised on ESPN Saturday afternoon, and it is played in Mobile every January. I didn't watch the game, but I read in the paper that the halftime show was dedicated to our 300th birthday celebration this year. Mardi Gras officially begins Wednesday night. Any one want to join us for the next two weeks? We have a lot of fun to pack in before Lent! We're also going to a couple of the balls this year. It's been about 30 pounds since we've been to a ball, so I had to get a new dress, but my husband can still fit in his tails--thanks to the adjustable waist.

I found a discount code on the wdw website for better rates than I could get with my annual pass, so I booked a week at the beginning of June. Rider, have you made your reservations, yet? I didn't check on the Poly, but they did have the AKL for $139/night thru 6/22, so maybe the Poly has a good rate, too?

I'm off to work on the laundry--I want to get caught up so we're free to go to the parades and not have to worry about uniforms and such. Have a great afternoon!

Good morning everyone! I just felt like coming in to say hi to everyone.

I did go get my drivers license yesterday and while I don't think it was the best picture, it wasn't too bad. Somehow though I swear I look like my shoulders are all hunched over & they look funny to me, but over all I can't complain about it! It also didn't take too long to get which I am surprised with. There was a very long line but it only took about 20 minutes to go through. So now I don't have to go back there for another four years (as we can renew plates via snail mail or internet)!

I also went out and found a new pair of dress shoes last night for $10!!! They were on the clearance rack for $20 and I got them 50% off of that as well :D It is always nice to get a $60+ pair of shoes for such a good price. They weren't exactly what I was looking for, but for $10 I won't complain ;)

Angelina, I would love to go spend some time down with you for Marti Gras! Your party sounds wonderful and much nicer than what my college friends described for me down in New Orleans. I have to keep reminding myself to eat up over the next few weeks, especially on the 12th because fasting on the 13th is such a hard thing to do. I also have to start coming up with new dinner plans for Fridays as we can't eat meat then. I can't stand fish so that usually makes life a little harder for me. I can make spaghetti w/o meat & I can make other Italian dishes without meat, but it does get a little tricky when you are trying to cook for a meat loving man!

Well I should get back to work! I hope all is well with everyone!

I was in the suite yesterday and posted a long message and when I hit the submit button a message came up and said "Server down try again". As I feared my massive missive is out floating around cyberspace. I will try again tonight. I am on my way out the door now headed for Indianapolis. See you all later ladies.

Slightly Goofy

The same thing happened to me, SG!!!! Sorry that I haven't been in touch in so long, but I too tried to post in the Suite yesterday, and I got the "server down" message and was never able to send it!

How are you all doing?

Yes! Yes! I want to join you for Mardi Gras, too, Angelina! It sounds wonderful! And that's so neat that there are going to be formal balls! I'm sure that you will look fantastic! Please take pictures of yourselves all dressed up and post them for us, if you have a chance! I'm sure that Mobile is really pretty - you'll have to tell us about all of the festivities! How is your DD feeling? I hope that her sores and blisters have all healed and that she is feeling much better! I actually didn't get any sort of special rate for the Poly in June - we just did our usual "Resort Magic" (I think) package - 6 nights, 7 days hotel, transportation, passports - no food. I believe that it's around $1500- $1600 for the two of us. We got very cheap airfare, though, since we booked back in October. When will you be at WDW in June???? I'm sorry that I did not send you little NY souvenirs as well, Angelina (or Jstmee!), but I don't have your home address! :(

Glad that you liked the cards, SG and Helenabear! I was hoping that the WTC pictures wouldn't depress you. Now that I know that you like them, I will buy lots more and send them to you, the next time that we're in the city! There are tons of different pictures of the twin towers or the skyline featuring the WTC on postcards in NY. I will definitely grab a bunch next time and send them to you!

How is your DD feeling, today, SG? I hope that she is in less pain and is recuperating and taking it easy and not pushing herself too much. Forgive me, but I'm dying to ask - what exactly is a "secret shopper"? Are you sort of like a food critic? Or you shop "undercover" to see what sort of service different establishments provide? Or you're secretly an international spy, posing as SG???? :)

I'm sure that your driver's license picture looks great, Helenabear! I gave up having my picture on my license the last time I had it renewed. I was too lazy to physically go to the DMV to have my picture taken. Plus, unfortunately, no one ever asks to see my ID any more, so I don't really need a picture ID very often. :( Sounds like you got a great deal on those shoes! Good job! Would Luis maybe eat veggie burgers during Lent? Some of them are really good, now, and almost taste like real meat.....maybe that's an option? And speaking of Luis.....when is he going to come in and visit us, here????? :) I loved the "Jones" story, too! It reminds me of a friend of mine who married a man whose last name is "Smith" a few years ago - for the longest time, she wouldn't tell me what his last name was 'cause she was afraid that I would laugh! I'm glad that you got things straightened out with your sister. I'm sure that she will be more sensitive to your feelings and your brother's, now. Maybe she was just so caught up in the moment and in the plans that she wasn't paying attention to how she was coming across to others. Or maybe because things are still so "up in the air" (ie: he hasn't "officially proposed", etc.), she didn't want to tell too many people until things were "official". Anyway, I hope that all of the misunderstandings have been taken care of and that all is well!

Speaking of "wedding stuff", we had our engagement pictures taken on Saturday. Impatient picture freak that I am, I brought my digital camera along and asked the photographer to take a few shots with it, as well. I was going to post them here (just what you all need - to see more pictures that I post here - you're probably getting sick of them all!), but for some reason, I can't get into my DIS website to update it - that option seems to be gone from the main DIS menu (on the WDWinfo home page). Have any of you heard anything about the discontinuation of DIS Websites or not being able to update them, by chance? Anyway, if you'd like to see those pictures, they're in an album called "engagement photos" at this link:

http://photos.yahoo.com/lisaandfrankmagicalyear

That's just an album page into which I am dumping random engagement-related photos. There are also pictures of the place where we are holding our wedding on that page, too.

OK - I've rambled on long enough! I say that we all hop on a shuttle, visit the Mardi Gras festivities tomorrow, then come back, go to the MK and see Fantasy in the Sky together - we haven't done that in so long! :)

Have a nice day, Everyone! :)

Well, parades start tomorrow night--the king cakes are in the kitchen, the wine's in the fridge, and I'll be expecting you around 5:00, so we'll have time enough to get downtown and find a good spot!! I'm kinda excited this year about going to the balls--we haven't been in years, and we're going with a new crowd, so it's going to be fun!

Lisa, I called disney yesterday, and the rate at the poly was about 239/night, which is about the same as your rate. What really surprised me was the 130 rate at the AKL!! Still, I love DXL, so I would be thrilled to go there again. The CM I spoke with said they only closed part of DXL to renovate and paint, and it'l all opened again, and POR may be back in production by June. I hope so. I hate to think that beautiful resort would be completely closed. Whether or not we go depends on my dh's job situation, and our tax refund. I need a new car desperately (I need more room) but , hey, if I can get another disney trip this year, the car can wait!!

Gotta go fix my husband's dinner. Let me know when your flights come in--I'll pick you all up at the airport!LOL!

Angie

Hi there everyone. I am so happy we all have been able to get in today. It's rough when you want to come and you can't.

Angelina, I will be there first thing tonight! We'd love to dance the night away with you all! I love getting all dresses up for dances and the like. They are just so much fun. I guess that is why I like my church's dance so much. It gives us a chance to get all "gussied up" and go out and have a great time dancing. We are going on Saturday and we are really looking forward to it. We just love to have fun like that and unlike some places, we know we will be safe!

You guys sound like you are getting good rates on your stays at WDW. The place I love to stay usually has no discounts because they don't like to discount the concierge rooms much. But I guess that is okay because then I'd try to justify going more often ;) Seriously, I am very much looking forward to the next trip no matter when it is and I'll be happy to stay anywhere. But I will say the Polynesian does have my heart because it is just so darn convenient to everything and it is so beautiful!

Rider, I really love all the "old" pictures of the twin towers, especially the night views. They didn't really do much for me architecturally in the day but at night all those lights... so pretty! So no, the pictures do not depress me to see. Also, I loved the pics you guys took. You both look very nice and very happy!

Well I really should get back to work. I will see you all later!

I have my fingers crossed that this will make it's way thru cyberspace to the suite and all of you.

As I was saying yesterday LOL Our License bureau is up the street about 1/2 block. We live right off the town square in a tiny town in Southern Indiana. Mayberry USA type. The girls who run the license branch were members of my 4-H club and since they are all tiny things they have no idea of how ludicrous it is when they ask if the information on my driver's license is the same. My goal is to actually BE what it says on my license! BTW one of the youngsters who used to come here and play is now the fire chief. Gosh, I am OOOOOOLD!!!!

Would it be alright if I just come and watch you all dancing around in your beautiful gowns? I ain't the fancy type and just might be persuaded to wear shoes (my idea of formal). Not feeling to well at the moment so I am not sure I could stand the strain of one slow dance let alone a whole night of stompin'.

Yep, I am a secret agent. I go around to stores and restaurants and write reports of my experiences. The lunch went well and the only bad part of the report is that I would suggest the waitress smile a bit. She might have been shy. We even shared a dessert. It was a fried cheesecake in a big goblet with loads of toppings and a swirl of whipped cream. It was dangerous looking. DD came with us as she has less pain when she is out and about and not sitting at home with pain as her main focus. Her eye seals shut when she closes it and it is painful to open. She has new medication and has a follow up appointment Thursday so maybe they will be able to do something to get her in shape a bit faster. She had thought she would be able to go back to work after her appointment but it ain't gonna happen. This is a woman who worked until her labor pains were 5 minutes apart with both children and was back to work in a week. Tough child.

Angelina, you a woman after my own heart. You have your prioties right. New car can wait, let's go to Disney. My bil who is retired from the AF sent me a site where he can stay at different places for $234 a week. One of the places listed is the Celebration apartment complex. I had been checking out a place for $900 a month but it was just an effieciency apartment and that would be fine for a couple of weeks but a 2 bedroom with complete kitchen would be better. IMHO While we cannot quite afford to live in Celebration it would be fun to be temporary residents. Not sure if we can get 2 months tho. My figures would show 2 months of DW at about $100 a day for the both of us including everything. Sounds like a plan.

I would love to see the pictures of you all dressed up fit to kill also!!!! I know all about king cakes and would love to have a small piece please? Our driver will take us right to your door. No second class transportation for us and most especially we would not want you to wear yourself out driving to the airport when you should be resting up for a night on the town. Your hubby would enjoy squiring such a lot of beautiful women to the parties.

Rider, what great pictures. Your home looks just like I would imagine. All those little touches that make a house a home. Were the flowers a welcome for Frank? I assume, from seeing the huge pile of ties on the bed, that Frank does some kind of office work also? Love your name for your Gymbrary. Only thing I noticed was that there were a lot more pictures of the cats than of Frank. Better watch out sibling rivalry can be a viscous thing! LOL

Helenabear, I am sure that your DL picture is just fine. Congratulations on your new shoes. It is wonderful to find something you like but to find it on sale too is sheer heaven. How many pairs do you own? Are you in competition with Imelda? Can't wait to see what you find to wear to the Mardi Gras Ball. How is the redecorating of your new home going? You had so many plans and then it has been quiet since. Maybe the strain of moving and the holidays has slowed you down a bit?

Take care everyone. I am off to cook dinner also. Does not seem fair as I am not hungry but there it is. (smile)

You know I haven't really thought about how many shoes until just now. I admit I probably have a lot, mostly because I have a hard time throwing shoes away. I do have three different styles of black shoes I can wear to work. One pair is fairly dressy and I can only wear them with hose or really really think socks, so I keep those away in the winter for summer when I don't wear socks at all with them (she says quietly). I have a pair of open toed slingbacks, once again summer only. Then I have my universal black loafers that I wear the most often. I just replaced them recently and the old pair I kept (holes and all) to wear in the basement. Then I have a nice pair of brown loaferish shoes for work and a more casual pair for jeans. I do own three pairs of running shoes but two are so worn they hardly have a speck of tread on them. The heels I bought are replacements for a pair of heels that died a long time ago (and actually got trashed) and I bought them in case I needed them for work (if they upgraded our dress code, I'd need them) then I have a strappy pair of black heels bought on sale a while ago when I needed heels but couldn't find anything that wasn't strappy so they were bought. I own several pairs of boots... most with hardly any tread, but I love them and I love to hike so that might be why I own so many. Plus when the waterrpoof layer wears through (and this does happen after about a year or two) the become useless for me except for style. My weakness though are Tevas. I own three pairs of them. Nothing is wrong with any of them but I live in these and they are THE most comfortable shoes ever. I probably own a bunch more shoes that are in sad shape but I can't bear to throw them out. So now after writing these all down I don't feel so bad ;) I am sure some own a lot less than I do, but some own tons more and theirs are actually new ;) Luis really teases me about my shoes but he starts looking at the age of some and doesn't say anything after that. Especially since he has seven pairs of his own in this house :D

We haven't been able to do much on our house mostly because what we would do either costs a ton of money to do, or I haven't picked out exactly what I want to do yet. Like curtains and paint colors are honestly so hard to find for me because I am picky. Our furniture is picked and sometime soon I will have to take pics to compare the before and after shots. We have replaced a fan in the dining area and the floor in the bathroom and done some major rewiring but that's about it. A lot of what we have done really isn't noticable to those who see it. But I will have to show our decorating styles to show what we love most.

SG, how does one become a secret agent. I have always wondered that. I thought it would be great to do it not for the money but because I like to go out and check out new places. Not that I spend money (or lots of money) but I love checking out new places and seeing what they have to offer and the service they have. To me service is a big thing. Whether you spend money there or not, you can get an idea of what a place is like. Like I can tell you which jewelers pay well and which make their people rely mostly on comissions just by the way they hound you. If they follow your every move, don't shop there. These people are non-comissioned and probably don't know snit about jewels. I went in a place and asked about the quality of the diamonds in a pair of earrings and when the lady came back and said they are I1 (not good quality at all) and said "That's pretty good. And they must have cut out any inclusions the diamond had" not realizing that both statements had to be false. Anyway... I digress

My precious love is on my lap now and she is trying to get me to feed her some of the left over Chinese we had for dinner. She is such a poultry freak! If I remember this weekend, I will have Luis take a picture of the dress I am wearing Saturday. If I am even better, I will remember to put the pic on the web quickly ;) Well I should get ready for our evening out now! See you all later!!!

Good evening Helenabear

You don't have a hair on my DH. He loves shoes, almost a fetish I think. When we were first married and poorer than dirt he used to 'forget' his work shoes so he would have to go to the shoe room at work and get another pair. It took a big chunk out of our income I tell ya. He also used to get his hair cut every single week. I was meek and mild in those days and just went along with it. Since he handled all the money in those days I did not really know how bad off we were but when I found out there were some big changes and I was not so meek or mild anymore. I hate owing money. Anyway, now we are fairly well off and he insists on buying one pair of $30 shoes a year from Wal Mart and only gets his hair cut when I threaten to braid it. Go figure!

Go into your browser and do a search on "Secret Shoppers" and see what you can come up with in your area. It takes quite awhile to get established. I only do a few shops a month myself and have been doing it for the past couple of years. DH would love it if I could get into travelling and checking out motels and such. With my directional ineptitude I would never be able to find the places tho. LOL

You and Luis are so smart to put your money into wiring and such instead of frills. So many people do the opposite. I just put together a new lamp for the living room. We have loads of room but no one big room so the rooms are quite crowded by all our 'stuff'. I have been clearing out rooms as I clean and go rid of a large piece of furniture in the LR as well as some of the knick knacks. I am sort of starting to get ready to sell the place by clearing some clutter. I will give a lot of stuff to my daughter, have an auction for a lot of the rest and if we move locally I will keep a few things. If we move far away I will start from scratch. Should be interesting. This has been such a good home for us and I will miss a lot about it.

A diamond expert also? Wow, you are a font of knowledge. I could care less about jewelry myself. The standing joke around here is that when Tom wanted to buy me something special I always asked for the cash so I could buy c/d's. I ain't talking about music. (grin)

I bought a new printer today also. It cost $29.00 and came with a cartridge. Not the swiftest model on the market but it will work fine for what little I do. I know people who buy these deals and take the cartridge out and sell the printer for $20 to someone else. I have until tomorrow at 11 pm to decide if I am going to order my new computer. Maybe I can get some advice from some of you computer experts?

I am looking at a Dell 4400.Pentium 4
1.6 GHz
258MB DR SDRAM
Keyboard for XP
15MB ATI Rage Ultra 4X AGP Graphics Card (Don't know anything about these last two items)
40 GB Hard Drive
Floppy Drive
MS Intellimouse
Fax Modem for Windows
16x10x40x CD-RW Drive w/Roxio's Easy CD Creator
Integrated Audio Harman Karon speakers
Microsoft Works Suite 2002 w/ Money 2002
3 year warranty
Can't decide between 15 in or 17 in monitor. I am extremely near sighted and so well with the 15 in I have and space is limited. Not sure how much bigger the 17 in would be.

Several small programs are included with this deal for $1,068 with 15 or $1,128.00 with 17 inch monitor.

Any comments most welcome. I do not play video games and such but want something that won't be too outdated in the next 3 years or so when I would be willing to upgrade again.

I am scared that I will order it and then the next day they will upgrade the equipment or downgrade the price. I have been so lucky with this NEC and have never had any work done on it but I am running out of memory and want to give it to my boys so they can learn how to do everything.

I would love to see your dress also. I enjoy seeing people dressed up but it is just not my thing. I am sitting here barefooted just as happy as if I had good sense. (grin)

Hi all!

I just wanted to stop in quickly, as I may not be able to stop by during the day, tomorrow. I'm moving into my new office at work, and I know that my computer will be down, while it's being moved, for at least part of the day (I don't know which part, though!).

Thanks so much for your kind words, as always, Helenabear and SG!

And I really hope that we wind up being at WDW at the same time in June, Angelina! It would be great to meet you! Please keep us posted regarding all of your events, this week. And seriously - have someone take some photos of all of you dressed for the balls so that we can see!

And please have someone take pictures of you and Luis before your dance this weekend, Helenabear!

Glad to hear that your DD is getting out and trying to keep her mind off of her pain, SG. But I'm sorry to hear that you're not feeling well. :( Keep thinking those happy Disney thoughts, and hopefully you'll be feeling better, soon!

Well, I guess they officially took the websites away. :( No more photos or avatars. :( We'll have to figure out how to get our official EWP Groupie avatar back!

Sorry that this is so short - if my computer is up and functioning in the morning when I get to work, I'll check in for a longer post!

Have a great night! :)

Rider, what do you mean about the website? I don't understand what's going on with the photos, etc. I'm laughing, though, at the idea of putting a picture up on the computer, because I can barely turn it on and off, although I can play a mean game of solitaire on it.

SG, I hope you're feeling better soon. If all of you will send your addresses to me, I will be happy to send a Mardi Gras care package your way.

Helenabear, I hope you and Luis have a wonderful time at your dance. I need to go out this morning and look for a pair of strappy satin sandals and some new make-up, but I have a dentist appointment (UGH!) and a picnic at my kids' school at noon. Right now I'm sitting at the computer with hair color dripping down the sides of my face, and I can hear from outside my window that the babies have escaped and are riding bikes in the driveway.

Rider, we have tentative ressies for June 1-6, but, like our January trip, that depends on taxes, job situation, and various other factors. I am trying to put some money away each week into a new savings acct. set up just for Disney trips, so we'll see. I was so happy with the rates at the resorts, that it's pretty easy to convince my husband that it's worth it to go. My stepsister is having a baby at the end of march, so that may be a good opportunity to drive to tampa to see her while we're down there. My husband would like to spend a week at the Gulf, but we can go there anytime for the day, it's only 30 minutes away, so it doesn't count to me. I still have to lug food, cook, and do dishes when we do that, so it's not the same for me.

My dd is pulling on my arm to get ready for "school" so I'll check in later this afternoon.

Angie

Wow Angelina - you have so much going on, today! But you're an organized, on-top-of-things kinda gal, so I'm sure that you will get it all done wonderfully! Did you find your sandals? When is your first ball?

I am so excited - if you wind up going to WDW June 1- 6, WE WILL BE THERE AT THE SAME TIME!!!! Yea!!!!! :) We will be there June 3 - 9. Maybe we can go in search of the physical location where our Suite would be and symbolically visit it, while we're there! It sounds like you have a great savings plan, and I'm sure that you will be able to go! And it sounds like you have a great financial plan, too. I hope that everything will be all right with your husband's job - I hope that the economy starts to improve so that we won't have to worry about layoffs, etc. any more! It would be so wonderful to meet you in person!

With regard to the websites, the DIS offered free web sites that members could set up, as I'm sure you know. I set one up, for the heck of it, not to have a nice looking website that others could look at....but basically as a receptacle for uploaded pictures, so that I could post them on threads such as this one! (the only way to post pictures in threads - like the ones that I bore all of you with from time to time - or like the tiny ones in my signature - is to have them on a website and then "link them" to the thread) The great masters of the DIS determined that their server was being bogged down by all of the photos and clipart that people stored on their DIS websites....so they decided to discontinue them. :( That's why the little "EWP Groupie" mouse ear hat insignia that Helenabear made for us disappeared from under our names on the left sides of our posts - because they were linked to a website that no longer exists. :( You should try a digital camera or scanner - they are actually very easy to use (even for a computer-illiterate and easily "intimidated" person, such as myself!) and fun, too! Then you can send us pictures of yourself and your DH and children! I hope that your DD is feeling completely better, by now!

Well, here I sit in my new, deluxe office at work. All I can say is....it's about time! I was supposed to have an office like this (one that actually has a DOOR - hee hee!) when we first moved into this building last year, but there were too many people at my level or above and not enough space, so I was assigned a cublicle. Now I have my nice wood and glass office with a big, huge window (overlooking our big, huge parking lot - hee hee!), a nice credenza and wardrobe, antinque looking chairs for guests, and best of all.....A DOOR THAT CLOSES! I called Frank as soon as I moved into it, this morning. Do you all remember the scene at the very end of the movie "Working Girl" where Melanie Griffith calls Joan Cusack to tell her about her new job, and she's sitting in her first "real" office and she says "you'll never guess where I am"? That's exactly what I felt like, this morning! :) Unfortunately, this reverie may be short-lived, as I hear rumors of our moving to another floor in our building within the next few months (they're trying to consolidate to save $ on renting space), and I'll wind up in an even smaller cubicle than I began with! But I will revel in this seating arrangement for as long as they will let me! :)

Hope that you're all having a nice day! :)

Hi there everyone!!! By the time I got ready to join you all yesterday I couldn't get in :(

I wanted to say that if you want the clippart of the EWP Groupie in your signature, I think I have a website that allows you to link back from the picture on it. It is one we have with our internet connection so I will work on trying to get that back for you all. In the mean time I have just typed it in my sig until I can upload the pic to the website. Once I do that I will post the link here so you all can add it in your signature if you like. I should be able to get that to you by the end of the weekend.

Rider & Angelina... I want to go too... can I join you. Although I swore never to go in June, the 1st part of the month isn't so bad ;) Seriously that would be nice if you could meet. I think an ideal place to meet would be at the beach near sunset point. It is right in front of our concierge building ;) and it offers a beautiful view of all on the Seven Seas Lagoon. There are some nice chairs & hammocks to lounge on as well. I swear though someday we will all have to plan to be there at the same time. And if SG moves to FL, we will have even better chances of meeting her there :D

Rider, it sounds like you have a wonderful office!!! Enjoy it while you can!

Angelina, good luck finding your shoes. I can understand how difficult that can be! I am sure with all you are doing you will look wonderful going out and having fun at all your balls!

SG, both Luis and I looked at the computer and it looks good. You are buying one of the only three brands of OEMs I will buy. Dell, IBM & Macintosh are the only three I would buy and they are very good in all around aspects. It sounds like the price is good too and I would go for the 17" monitor. I have a 19" at work and a 17" at home and and old 15". There is a HUGE difference in look between 15 & 17 but hardly anything noticable for me with the 17 & 19, so go for that!

Well I hate to be short, but I have work to do. Take Care all!

We tried to go to the parade last night, but the kids wouldn't get ready in time, so by the time we made it downtown, the streets were blocked off and traffic was at a standstill. I heard the ball was really good, though. It was the 25th anniversary for the organization, and the Doobie Brothers and K C and the Sunshine band played at the ball. I'm trying to get some things done around here before the parade and ball tonight, but the school just called and Mmy dd jammed her finger at recess and they want me to come look at it. I'll check in later.

Angelina, is your little girl all better now? It is so great that you are able to go over and make sure she is alright. Kids need food, clothes and a place to live but they need love and care the most of all. They can skimp on the rest IMHO. My DD and Dsil called from Indy this morning to wish the older boy good luck on his speech and to say good morning to them. Made them feel as special as they are. I am so sorry that you did not get to see the parade or go to the ball. I would have gladly babysat for you so you could have went. I prefer to playing with kids to going to balls anyway. I was checking a website on great places to retire and they had AL on the list because of the low taxes.

You all are making me consider a June trip to DW too. I can't do it cause I have too much going on that time of the year but I can dream. Rider, please find the spot where our suite is located and give us a detailed explanation so we can visualize it too? No one could do it as well as you can. You should move to FL and hire yourself out as a personal guide to DW. You would be perfect with your knowledge and personality and since only the well heeled could afford a personal guide you would get to meet an interesting assortment of people.

Whew, I am so relieved Helenabear. I kept checking in yesterday to get the benefit of your computer shopping advice and then had to go for it at the last minute before the sale ended. I ended up with the system as listed but I upgraded the keyboard to an XP with 2 USB ports and added a $40 video card (at my grandson's request) and did finally go for the 17 in monitor after much thought. I am very nearsighted and the 15 in does me just fine but my oldest grandson has sight problems and I wanted something he could use also. I am nervous about how I am going to get all my info from this computer to a new one. I know I have to check this one to make sure I do not have any viruses and such before the switch and a friend has a cable she will lend me that is supposed to be the easiest way to transfer the data. I have started cleaning up some of my files etc. Any advice most welcome. I can usually figure out something if I really want to but as I do not do the type of work you guys do I am not as up to the minute as I might be.

I am taking it easy today. Have had a busy few days and have a lot to do next week. Am feeling a bit better. Must not be a heart attack or I would be dead by now. I dropped a soda I was pouring last night cause my arm hurt so much and it was better than it had been. I get these 'attacks' from time to time because of stomach problems. Vicious cycle. Trust me, you pay later in life for your earlier transgressions.

DH is bowling and I have the house totally to myself. You can't miss omeone who never leaves so I look forward to Thursdays. LOL

Oh no, Angelina! I hope that your DD's finger is all right! And I hope that you are able to make it to the parade and ball, tonight - you'll have to tell us all about them!

Yes, Helenabear - you should come to WDW at the beginning of June, too! As for SG.....if she moves to Central Florida, we will not only be meeting her.....but I say that we all MOVE IN WITH HER! Then we could REALLY have our Suite.....right in her living room (hee hee!)! I'm sure that SG appreciates my proposing that we all move in with her and her DH! (Sorry about that, SG - I'm getting carried away)! Believe it or not, it's not so bad in June. It IS hot, but if you carry around a bottle of water and be sure to be in the shade or an air conditioned building at regular intervals, it's OK. The only times that I felt really uncomfortable were walking around the perimeter of the World Showcase, where there is very little shade, and waiting in the non-shady part of the Safari line at the AK! But even then, I just thought "I'm at WDW!" and forgot about the heat!

Well, hope that you're all having a great day! Talk to you soon! :)

How did you sneak in there, SG? We must have posted at exactly the same time! :)

Hey, Rider! Did you not feel the breeze on your shoulder as I sauntered by? I did not want to disturb you as you were hunched over the keyboard with your fingers flying. One of my favorite things is to have company. especially wonderful people as yourselves. If we did move down there you would be most welcome. My physical limiatations may hinder me in getting out and about a lot but love sitting around chatting with people and learning new things AND talking about DW!

A friend of mine just told me that she and her hubby are leaving tomorrow morining for DW for 10 days. They go several times a year and are even more in love with the place than I am. Her DH is retiring this fall and they are going to check out a place at Celebration while they are down there. She says they want a 2-3 bedroom to accomodate the guests they will have. I reminded her that not only am I her friend but her Mom's!!!!!! (grin)

I am still checking out the possibilities for this fall, will let you know what we come up with. If we get the 2 bedroom place you will all have to make reservations. LOL

Hi there everyone! It seems you were all busy and flying in and out and around the suite.

Angelina, I do hope your DD's finger is okay. That can really hurt when you jam your finger. I think it is wonderful you have the ability to go over to the school and check on your daughter. That is great that you can be there for them when they need you.

Ah me, WDW in 2002... that would be wonderful :D But money and other things just won't let me get down there then. I will be there in spirit though and I will definitely look forward to watching the EWP with you all! We have been at WDW in June and we swore we would never do it again. It was over 100 degrees two days and we were dying. But the first part of June wouldn't be so bad.

I am with you on the idea of having the suite in SG's house in Florida ;) I would visit often :D

SG, I am glad you got a good deal. I was trying to tell you it was a good deal last night but I couldn't (dang servers). I think you will be very happy with what you got!

Well dinner is ready (pizza) so I had better go, but I wanted to pop in and say hi to my favorite suite members :D
