Evolution of cell phones

It's rumored that the OLED display version of the iPhone 8 is going to sell out very quickly. If any of you are hoping for that one, I'd jump on it.
The latest iPhone always goes quickly so I don't see this as being any different. Usually it's the newest color, lowest storage capacity model that goes the fastest. I tend to buy midrange storage and whatever they're calling the black model that cycle and have never had a problem getting my phone on launch day. We shall see what happens.

My first cell phone was back in the late 90's, I dont remember what kind it was.
The next one I remember is my pink Motorola Razr flip phone, I loved that thing.
I had a few smartphones, went from small, to big (Samsung S5) and back to small my current phone, an iphone se. I thought I liked the big phone but realize that I love the small phones much better.

I do really enjoy the size of the iphone SE. They fit in the hand and in pockets way better! We recently got a really good deal so both my teens bought an iPhone SE and so far it's working out well.

The first time I was completely impressed with phone technology was in the mid-2000's. Texting was still using the numbers, but, it had this walkie-talkie type set up where you could just input a name of someone on your dialing list and push the button and talk. I can remember talking to a friend when I was in California and he was in Vermont. There seemed to not be any delay in the conversation and I was bewildered as to the technology that enabled it to find me that easily. No ring or anything, just start talking and listen for the response.

Some rumors this thing may actually come out at $1,200 if using the OLED display.

Also no Touch ID on the new iPhone. That's a bummer.

Maxomoni.....I enjoyed reading your cell phone memories....which is very similar to mine with all those phones. I remember saying when the cameras with the screens first came out how odd it is to see people extending their arms way out to take a picture instead of bringing the camera right in front of your eyeball.

I too have said...."why one earth would anyone put a camera inside your phone" mentality.....NOW LOOK WHERE WE ARE NOW!!! I too have said those exact words....what would the Iphone look like in 10 years. Kinda gives me goosebumps.

Loves these types of conversations.
