Evil Clowns? Mickey Mouse? Divas? And turning 40!? Be afraid, be very afraid!

I'm here!

I'm so excited for you gals! Of course I wish I was coming too, but I'll just have to be patient for February. :thumbsup2

Good thing I'm not going, because Theresa and Katie would have one more person elbowing for the middle spot at Knott's!!! :scared1: I don't handle "real" gore all that well, and I despise being scared.

Don't forget to take lots of pictures for me, especially of the Halloween party at Disneyland, I'm dying(no pun intended) to see what it looks like there!
See, now I would've pegged you as someone who would love the scary haunted mazes and such. ;)

We'll miss you!! I remember when we were both doing pre-trip reports for Halloween. That was for the very first Halloween party I went to, and the first time we met!
Glad you'll be following along.

Well it seems I am almost a day late and a dollar short. I didn't realize that you had started this. I am here now!!
No worries. I'm always a day late and several dollars short. :sad2: Welcome aboard!

So close for you trip too!!

Hi Trudi! I know it is. I wish you were going to be there!! It would be so fun to go on Haunted Mansion and to the Halloween party with you. Sure you can't sneak away for the weekend??
Unfortunately I can't.:sad1:
Here is the recipe for the Jalapeno Popper Spread:

Ingredients:

2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
1 cup mayonnaise
1 (4 ounce) can chopped green chilies, drained
2 ounces canned diced jalapeno peppers, drained
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Directions:
Stir together cream cheese and mayonnaise in a large bowl until smooth. Stir in green chiles and jalapeno peppers. Pour mixture into a microwave safe serving dish, and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
Microwave on High until hot, about 3 minutes.
Baked Variation:
If you would like to brown the cheese, bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for about 30 minutes.

I made the baked version. It was sooooo good. Addicting really. If you want to go hotter, you can add more jalapenos. I didn't because while I like spicy things, I wasn't sure if the girls would. You can also add bread crumbs and butter to the top before baking if you want. And then just serve with tortilla chips, crackers, pita chips, sourdough baguettes, or just about anything.
Hope you like it!

Thanks, I have everything except for the green chilis so I can't make it til this weekend. I don't have a microwave so I'll bake it. It sounds so good.

Sounds like a plan! Let me know how you like it. It got really good reviews on allrecipes.com, and everyone that came over this past weekend gobbled it up!

Sorry for no updates today.
I spend the day looking for a Halloween costume to wear to the Disney party and didn't have much luck. Everything is so......um, bootylicious and is not going any where near this body. :scared1: When did Halloween become about seeing just how trampy we can get? :confused3

Anyway, I'm also planning a Halloween party for my teenage daughter. Fun, right? I thought so! I love Halloween so I figured this was right up my alley. Problem is, I am clueless about what to do for teens. If anyone reading has any fun ideas, please feel free to pipe up and share them! Thanks!! :)

Boo for no updates today :sad1: I totally hear you on the bootylicious costumes. Not sure why they are all like that - no bueno. Besides, I already know you're trampy, you don't have to dress like it :rotfl:

For the partay, I have no idea. All Jesse wants is some cash to buy fireworks and hang out in a field with his friends, blowing up stuff. Boy thing?? Whatever.

We needs the updates, we needs the updates popcorn::

I'm assuming it's coed? How about Spin The Bottle? :lmao:

I'm going to ignore the trampy comment. :snooty: Except to say, takes one to know one! :dance3:

I'm pretty sure Noelle and her little girlie friends are not going to want to blow up anything. Nice try though.
It's going to be a slumber party, and they are going to watch Scream 4 which comes out on October 4th. (I already own the trilogy, so of course I have to get the next one!) So the latter part of the night is planned out, I just need ideas for earlier..... hmmm.

I'm assuming it's coed? How about Spin The Bottle? :lmao:
 :rotfl2: Do people still play that?? LOL

Actually, I'm not sure if it will be coed. :confused3 I told Adam to invite some of his friends, but I don't know if he will. So it might end up being one big giggle fest of teenage girl hormones! Now that is frightening.

I do know that I'm going to bring out all the Halloween decorations, the fog machines, the strobe lights, the disco ball, and our colored lights. So there will definitely be dancing! :cool1:

So glad you're doing a TR.... Looks like a GREAT trip and how exciting that you get to stay at GCH for your birthdy. ((You don't look a day over 30 ;) )) I wish we were able to go during Halloween again, it's my favorite time to visit. However I'm really looking to seeing he Christmas decorations up fo the first time. If my memory serves me correctly you live in Vegas, right? Just like we always do when we take a road trip to California we stop in Vegas. It'll be the first time in November. What can we expect weather wise?

Can't wait to her more about your trip. It'll be here before you know it. :yay:

Hi Deanna! Good to see you here. :)
I am so excited to stay at the GCH! With a family of 6, it's honestly not something I would ever get to do on our family trips, so this is a real treat!

I love DL during Halloweentime, but we've been a couple times during Christmas and of course, it's just beautiful. You and your family will love it!

We do still live in Vegas. November should be nice weather wise. Not too cold yet, could be breezy, but nothing too extreme. If I had to guess I'd say average highs in the mid 60's. Of course, you know how the weather goes, it could be as low as the 50's or as high as the 80's! Doesn't help much for packing, does it? Layers I guess is your best bet.

Hey! I didn't know you had a trip report!!

Waahhhhh! :sad1: I want to have my pic on the front page too, and hang with you guys.

Oh well. It's one of those times when I just need to live vicariously through you.:cool1:

I have no idea if kids still play Spin The Bottle. They way some kids are nowadays that would probably be 'kid stuff' to them. A shame.
I'm sure you'll plan a great party . If I lived close I'd crash the party just to get some of the food you'll be making.:rotfl:

I do have a report going and I am so glad you dropped by! I wish you were going with us, too. I'm going to miss you! :sad1:
But I'm glad you'll be following along here, and I can't wait to see you in February!

I love the plans. Noelle's slumber party sounds like fun.
Thanks. Teen girls do seem to love their sleep overs. Especially when scary movies and lots of food are involved. ;)

We were just going over the menu items last night. :thumbsup2 I know so far we've got pumpkin bars (she cannot get enough of those things!), Halloween cupcakes, 7-layer dip, some veggie and fruit platters, and other finger foods. Some of her friends are bringing items too, so it should be a good feast for them!

Beth, I know that you love all things Halloween, so when I saw this I thought of you.
Thanks, Michele! I love that. So cute, and yet simple too! I told my twins, Lindsey and Hannah, they could invite a friend over one day next month to decorate Halloween cookies, watch a Halloween movie, and do a Halloween craft.
I'm looking for things easy, kid-friendly (age 11), cheap, and useful. This looks like it fits the bill perfectly!

Well I am glad I sent that to you. There were a few cute ideas that were kid friendly.

For lunch, we have plans to meet up in Tangaroa Terrace with Cathy/goofycathy who will be there that week with her family. I've never eaten there either, so I am looking forward to trying their food and to meeting another DISer! :yay:

 :cool1: :thumbsup2:woohoo: CANT WAIT!!!!
