Everything you need to know about WDW Christmas- Tips & Secrets

We will be there during the same time. What's your schedule look like so far?
CP, MVMCP, etc?

11/28 - Jiko
11/29 - Backstage Magic Tour followed by Victoria & Alberts
11/30 - Crystal Palace and MVMCP
12/01 - Tutto Italia (will try for Candlelight Dinner Pkg this night when ressies available)
12/02 - Kouzinna followed by Jellyrolls
12/03 - Couples massage at GF followed by dinner at Bistro de Paris

At some point we'll ride a ride or two! :lmao:

So this is something I heard about the Holidays, some of the rides like It's a Small World are decorated to show how the Holidays are celebrated around the World and that the Haunted Mansion is given a Nightmare Before Christmas decoration theme. I am not sure if that is true or not though. It might be that they only do that at Disneyland instead of Disney World. Can anyone verify that this is true?

I would love to know if this is true....NBC and HM are two of my favorites!!

And it's my first time at Christmas this year too!!!

Is there like a timeline or anything that shows what times the events happen for this party? Im trying to figure out if we should do Dessert party that night, but I don't want to miss too much of the party so I want to make sure we wouldn't miss the parade.

Doing a split stay the week after Thanksgiving. AKV 11/28-12/01 and BWV 12/01-12/04. It will be just DW and I this trip. This time I get to be the kid!! :cool1:

man how did you get the 4th? my family and i (9 total) are all going down 11/25-12/5. we are renting points from someone and we are currently staying at SSR, but we are on the waiting list for the boardwalk. they keep on telling her that the 4th is all booked up! not that i dont mind staying at SSR, never been but ive always wanted to stay at BWV. but anyway, enjoy your trip!

The parade runs at 8:15 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.; Holiday Wishes fireworks is at 9:30 p.m. When we did the DP on a party night, there wass no way we could have seen the first parade because they opened the DP area around... oh, 8:30 pm? And we got in line even earlier. You can't see much of the parade from the DP area either. So we went to the second parade.

If I had it to do over again, I don't think I'd schedule the DP on a party night if at all possible. We hardly got to ride any rides—it was all standing in line and waiting for things, and once the second parade was over (we watched from at the very end of the route), there wasn't that much time left in the party.

I am so glad to have found this thread. My husband and I are planning to go Dec 16th-22nd. This will be our first trip during the holidays. I am so excited I just can't wait. I talked him into going to the MVMCP even though we are not going to have our kids with us!! It seems like the party is worth the extra expense, plus since we are only paying for two instead of six it seems down right cheap. I can't wait for the next 5 months to fly by so I can be at Disney!

Does anyone know what sort of Special Party merchandise is available at the parties? I want to be prepared on what to plan for spending money. Is it usually just t-shirts and such or is there a pretty good selection of different items?

I can't wait to read through this entire thread!!! I am so excited about our Christmas trip. My best friend says I'm going to be a blubbering idiot because I looooove Christmas, I looooove Disney and it's my son's first trip. God help me LOL

Christmas Ornaments, Party pins, special stuffies....lots of stuff!! I'd plan to have quite a bit of spending money

Does anyone know, from years past where the characters are usually located and if anyone special is there? Is Santa there? We are going to an early MvMCP in Nov. (Prior to Thanksgiving) if so is it just like other character meet and greets. We are 2 adults we would like a picture with Santa..Standing of coarse, not sitting on his lap as we are pooh-sized...LOL

Over the past 3 years I have seen MVMCP pins available only during the party, sweatshirt, t shirt, a plush gingerbread man (like in the XMAS parade), and a soft plush like throw. Also special MVMCP picture frame.

Some other Dis'ers may recall more.
