Everything you need to know about WDW Christmas- Tips & Secrets

Okay, so if I am understanding this correctly, the first two weeks of December, the MK is decorated, but the shows are the normal ones. If you want the special holiday shows you need to go to the MVMCP. Right?

Are all of these part of MVMCP only?:
Mickey's Twas the Night Before Christmas Story – (Galaxy Palace Theatre)
Celebrate the Season - This is a stage show at Cinderella Castle Forecourt.
Belle's Enchanted Christmas Story -
Character Dance Party -

One more thing, Dec 1 (Tues), 3 (Thurs), 4 (Fri), 6 (Sun), 8 (Tues) are my dates I can go to MVMCP. Do you think Dec 1 or Dec 8 will be the least crowded/best time to go?

Thanks again!

Money-saving tip: If you'll be there for Christmas week, don't worry about MVMCP. You'll get everything except for the "free" hot cocoa and cookies during a normal day at MK without having to pay for party admission. The parade, Castle show, stage show, and even the "snow" were in effect for our 12/20 - 12/26 stay.

One item I never see listed anywhere is that Mickey's house and Minnie's house in Toontown Fair are both decorated for Christmas. Very cute!

PERFECT! Thank you!! :wizard:

We will be arriving on the 26th and actually don't plan on hitting the MK until the 30th ... does anyone know traditionnally if the Castle Show & Stage Show were still running those dates in the past? I am pretty sure the Christmas Parade will still be running. Thank you for any insight on previous years events! :flower3:

When I was there in '07, you could see the Mickey show on Saturdays, but I thought I read somewhere that the Glalaxy Palace Theatre isn't open anymore and I'm honestly not sure about Celebrate the Season. I should still have a times guide that I can check when I get home from work if no one else has answered in regard to that show before then.

Between the two dates you suggested, I would go on the Dec 1. Dec 8 is a discount night for AP and DVC people and when I went in '07 it was an AP/DVC discount night and it was sold out. Now, I'm not saying that all AP/DVC discount nights are going to be sellouts (and to be honest, I didn't feel that it being a sellout was that big a deal), but I do think it something worth considering.

So our dates are Dec 14-21. We haven't seen Illuminations or Wishes before. Do you think its a good idea to see regular Illuminations and Wishes during our first couple of days and then see them again when they're holiday themed later in the week or are they pretty similar? We'll have two newbies in tow and two 2nd timers. Thanks!:lovestruc

Where can I find info to know which nights are AP/DVC discounts? I too would like to avoid these nights. If it helps we'll be there the 6th - 11th

Its wonderful in Disney during Christmas..

Can anyone help me with the easiest way to get to Hollywood Studios from Epcot, via boat... Should I get off at yatch/beach to get on another boat. Or will the boat from epcot goto HS... Any Help is apppreciated... Thanks

The boat will take about 30-40min and you should be able to stay on (I think...). Do they still have direct buses park to park? That might be quicker if you're looking for speed instead of experience.

Woo hoo! Just found this thread and read through all 15 pages...copy/pasted lots of good tips into an ever-growing Word document! This is our first Christmas trip as well. We will be there 12/18 through 12/23 and I am really nervous about the crowds! We have been to Disney many times so one thing in our favor is that we do not feel the need to hit everything. We are mainly there to experience the Christmas decorations and activities. I can't wait!!

Keep all the great tips coming!! :woohoo:

So the only way to see the holiday Wishes show is to go to MVMCP? or the week of Christmas? I love Wishes but a holiday one would be awesome!!

The only way to see Holiday Wishes inside the MK is to either go to MVMCP OR after the last MVMCP for the year.

Thanks for sharing this info. I had no idea, and I'm glad you told me! I was looking at the dates again. Would anyone recommend Dec 1 Tuesday or Dec 3 Thursday? Thanks. :)

Thanks for the response. Im pretty sure they have the direct buses still. I am thinking to leave Epcot after Illuminations to make the 1030 fantasmic.. Thanks again for your help..

If they do have the direct buses, I would make sure to be on the FW side for Illuminations. It's a loooong, crowded walk back to the front entrance after the show is over. Plus, the bus stops are madness at the end of the night. I wonder if you'd even make it in time for Fantasmic going that way.
