Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Meal Vouchers

Were you able to order them today? What was the price for the vouchers? Can you provide us a link? Thanks a bunch! :D

I don't understand what the vouchers have to do with the MYW dining option. They are 2 different things and from what I understand the dining option is only available if you are paying rack rate for your room. Correct me if I'm wrong. I had a plan to buy them at a later date through my American son-in-law but I guess my planning was for nothing.

I agree with you, but Disney wants people to buy directly thru them. Just as an example, those Q & C and VKL vouchers were always available if you were booking group sales, but the Q & C was $14.XX directly thru disney and only $11.50 via Hotwire - so I'm assuming Disney wants all your money (no middle man). Just look at how they set up this new Airport Service - they are willing to pick you up from the Airport and return you to the airport - for free - trying to make sure you go directly to and from Disney - unable to spend your money anywhere but Disney!

I was on the phone today with Hotwire twice. The first time I was told all vouchers were discontinued. The second time I was told they were out and on order. That they should be available by the end of the week.I spoke to a Carlos the second time and was on hold several times while he taked to a superviser

Hi, I am interested if you still have them available. Would you please give me a total for the price? Thank you very much :D

I really want some of these for our March trip. We loved them last year. I've been trying, unsuccessfully, to find the simple escapes website. Can anyone direct me? Has anyone had any experiences with them? I saw several sites complaining about unauthorized charges on their cards.

I've never dealt with simple escapes, but I am hoping and praying that I can find some Q&C vouchers for our upcoming May trip.

So, to joing Simple Escapes you must first go to Dealpass.com.

I went to dealpass.com and there is no link to join simple escapes. I looked under travel and misc. I looked over the whole site and it's not there.

You could join Simple Escapes by calling them at 1-877-836-6903. But they don't have any Disney passes or vouchers anymore.

Since vouchers are no longer available and let's say you were going with one adult, one 11yr old (ie: would be cheaper buying the meals at age 11 than being charged for "adult" price on dining plan) and 2 other children (ages 7 and 5... neither of which eat very much unless it's exactly what they like...)----

And let's say you also have enough park hoppers left over from the past (non-expired kind ofcourse) that you only need 1 extra day for the adult and 1 extra day for one of the children in order to have enough tickets/plusses for your entire trip.

Is it POSSIBLE to book a room with just the adult and one child, add on the 1 day tickets for that adult & 1 child, and get the dining pkg for that 1 adult and 1 child.... and you all eat on just that? (and purchase with $$ anything extra if ever needed- because honestly we could all eat on just that).

Is that possible to do?
Because I've tried booking the room online (for June 2005) with 1 adult and 3 children-- when doing that you can't just buy 1 day tickets for 1 adult and 1 child- it makes you buy the 1 day ticket for EVERY PERSON in the room. We don't need that. But we also don't need the dining pkg to include every person in the room either.

So would there be a snafu later if I booked the room with 1 adult/1 child, bought 1 day tickets with the room for 1 adult/1 child and also got the dining pkg for 1 adult/1 child? (meaning the other 2 children would either share meals with us or I'd buy them something they would actually eat- and we'd use leftover days on park hopper plusses from the past for the other days for all of us). Would that work?
(ofcourse that would mean if we ate at places that charged per person/according to age that we'd use up the alloted child meals paid for in the dining pkg rather quickly- then once those were gone I'd just pay cash for food after that, right?)

I believe if you do that, you would have to say you were the only two in the room. YOu would not get room keys for the youngsters (and I have no idea if you need them for emh or latenights..we never did). I read that you have to get the meal ticket for everyone in the room for each night you are staying. I thought you also had to get a package to get that, which includes tickets for each person in the room.
You might do better using your AP (if you still have one) to get the $50 DDE card and getting 20% off.

I bought 10 Q&C vouchers on EBAY :( BEFORE I read this site. I have only been to WDW once as a child, and I imagined food to be very expensive... so when I saw them on ebay, I figured I'd bid cause they'd be a way to prebuy food (sort of a savings plan, pay ahead of time). BUT I should have done some research to see what they are worth. I paid 190.00 plus shipping for 10 vouchers. Wish I figured wasn't such a bad price for what they said they offered... meal, side dish, drink (a smoothie even), dessert. I figured $20 easy! :( I'm mad at myself. Now that I see that they aren't supposed to be anymore than around $11 ish. Bummer.

Well if you use the vouchers wisely you can still get your money's worth. I would suggest you use them at the Pepper Market restaurant at Coronado Springs resort, Tangerine Cafe at Epcot, and the Japanese restaurant at Epcot (the casual one that accepts them). If you use them at counter service at Magic Kingdom then you would probably lose money.

Where are you staying? Honestly, I get the best value from these at my resort. We stay at Sports or Movies or somewhere like that. We usually eat a snacky lunch, but dinner time they serve entrees (salmon, fajitas, good food) and you can easily spend that amount (be sure to get a token for your ice cream desserts so they don't melt while you eat your meal). The big advantage too, is that you are not eating fried junk all the time. Coronado Springs probably does offer the highest prices. Tax is included in these, so there is a big savings right there as well. Just pre-plan a little and you should be fine. Don't beat yourself up! :teacher: ::MickeyMo

Brika,

The days of buying these for $11 are over. The only ones left are the ones on eBay. You'll have to be a little more selective about where you use these, but even at the price you paid, you can save some money in certain restaurants.

The best value we've found has always been the Pepper Market at Coronado Springs resort. They have such a variety that my family would eat there everyday. The food is good and the portions way big enough to share.

You haven't made a huge mistake. I sure am going to miss these vouchers as they let us try things we would have never purchased a la carte.

NO ONE sells the vouchers anymore? I had just done the math and wanted to get a few for our trip in April... :(
EBAY prices the vouchers seem to be going for @ 15-18 dollars a piece
The meal option is just too much money for us...we would never spend that much on food...
any other options out there? :confused3

I just got an email from Hotwire, and it said to check Dealpass for other Disney discounts. I have no idea what that means, other than they maybe have tickets there. But it does sound like vouchers are over. I have seen them go as high as $27 each just lately on ebay. Surely these people have no idea what they are buying. ::MinnieMo

i have been reading alot of the forums on this thread and find everyone to be very helpfull. My husband and I are taking our 5 children to disney for the first time and the vouchers would be perfect what is the highest price you would pay for one?

Personally, if I were to buy some now, I would not spend more than $15 or $16 TOPS and only if I knew I would be using them at my resort. It is hard to get your money's worth at the parks with the fast food. Where are you staying? :wizard:
