Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Meal Vouchers

I don't believe I've ever seen availability for Swan/Dolphin using the vouchers.

Hi, I just wanted to thank you! The number you gave me to call about the Youth Market Dinner/Lunch Vouchers worked very well! I spoke with a man who told me the tickets are legit and I will have no problem with them, the only odd thing he said was that I have to order from the youth menu because that is what youth market means. I think I will just ask the waitress at the restaurants. Thanks!

7 more days!!!:hyper:

My dauther tells me every morning how many days are left until we go, she CANT WAIT!!!princess: ::yes::

I see you must have stayed at Old Key West. What did you think. My husband and I stayed there on our honeymoon in 1996 and this is the first we were able to get back in there!! I can't wait for my kids (dauther age 6, son age 2 1/2) to see the hot tub in the bathroom. The will think it is their own private pool!:wave2: ::yes::

Nikkimax: You're welcome! So glad everything turned out well. Just hope you don't have to spend the entire week eating PB&J off kids' menu. :scared1:

We have actually never stayed @ OKW. Is that crazy or what? We just bought our membership a few months ago and decided to book BCV since the main pool @ OKW will be shut down during our upcoming trip in Oct. Look forward to truly going "home" on our next visit.

Be sure and let us know how those vouchers work out. And, don't forget the Mr. Bubble!!!

OK - I didn't read through everything (made it up to page 33). Can I use 1 voucher and then get my DVC discount on the cash portion of the bill for myself, DH and DS if I go to a participating restaurant?

All,

I have a question about the character breakfast vouchers. On WDWIG they have the CRT breakfast listed as $19.99 (Adults) and $9.99 (Children). If that is true, are the breakfast vouchers still a good deal or is it just paying now instead of later. Also, we are planning on doing the Chef Mickey's character breakfast and WDWIG has the price for that breakfast as $16.99 (Adults) and $8.99 (Children). We have never used these vouchers before and I am looking for any advice.

higgyCU,

The price of the breakfast meal voucher is $18.25 for adults. Chef Mickey's breakfast buffet is $16.99 for an adult, but you also need to figure in tax and tip (multiply $16.99 by 1.21: 6% tax and 15% gratuity). The total comes to $20.56 for the Chef Mickey's buffet. You save a little over $2 but if you do this daily for more than 1 adult, you can save enough to pay for a few extra snacks.

For CRT, the total would be $24.19. You can save some money by buying the vouchers. I'm not sure if the kids vouchers are even worth it. For an $8.99 buffet, you'd only pay $10.88 and the vouchers cost $11. For a $9.99 buffet, you'd pay $12.09. You'd only save a dollar or two. To me, it doesn't seem that the kids breakfast vouchers are worth it. The dinner vouchers don't seem worth it either, really, considering that most kids meals at restaurants are $7.00 and under.

This is what I was lead to believe. If I am incorrect in assuming this, someone PLEASE correct me. I don't want to go in January with the wrong info! :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsgirl: ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

AuntSuesNiece,

Thanks so much for the response. Hope you have a great birthday trip.

Glad I was able to help. I just hope the info I gave you is accurate (for your sake and for mine).

We're planning to go to 2 or 3 nice restaurants (Teppanyaki in Japan at Epcot and Rainforest Cafe in AK, maybe one other, haven't decided yet) so I'm only getting enough premium vouchers for those meals. I may get a few quick and casual (not sure yet).

We'll do breakfast buffets for breakfast and only 2 or 3 really nice restaurants for dinner for the week. The rest of the week (since we have plans, Fantasmic, Illuminations, parades, fireworks, etc), we'll just stop in somewhere and eat (need to find out if these places require ressies though).

We don't do lunch. We eat a big breakfast early (8 AM), grab a small snack if we get hungry (sometimes we'll take an apple and a banana or other piece of fruit or easily portable and non-messy food, from breakfast with us for later), and have dinner early in the afternoon (usually the last lunch seating at restaurant) that way we can use a premium voucher if we want. By 3 PM we're usually starving after all that walking. We keep snacks and goodies in our room and munch on those if we get hungry or order a pizza. Saves a lot of money by "skipping lunch".

Plus, we bring a refillable mug with us to each park so we don't have to buy drinks and water constantly. Saves a LOT of money.
Hope you have a great trip! Can't wait!:earsboy: :earsboy: :earsgirl: ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

Just Returned and used the Quick and Casual Vouchers. Absoulty loved them. Will get them again for sure. Best Value by far was at Corondo Springs Pepper Market.

Sounds accurate to me. I forget about the tip and tax part. That makes a difference.

We bought a "piece of the magic" and that has made it easier for meals, especially breakfast. We always get a rental car and make a supermarket run to pick up snacks, drinks, breakfast and lunch food. We usually eat breakfast in the room and bring waters and cokes with us into the park. We do have a couple of refillable mugs and thats a great idea. Do you just refill the mugs with water? I don't believe you can use them for drinks in the parks? Is this, correct?

We are staying at SSR this time and it will be interesting how much we go back to the room since it is the furthest resort from the parks. We usually stay at BWV or BCV and love being walking distance from EPCOT and MGM. We get up early eat breakfast and then head to a park, come back to the room, eat lunch and then head to the pool. After the pool, we head to another park and then figure out what to do for dinner. We seem to always eat dinner off property or at one of the parks.

Our party will consist of 4 adults and 3 children (9,11 and 12) and we will be there from Saturday(9/11) to Saturday(9/18). Any suggestions on how many Q&C vouchers we should purchase? We are definitely going to CRT and Chef Mickey's for breakfast. I will get the adult character breakfast vouchers but probably not the children. We are definitely going to Pepper Market after reading all the positive reviews.

Thanks for all your help and advice.

Can you order the flatbread/pizza as an appetizer with the VKL's?

Thanks :)

Just returned from our 7 day trip and thanks to this board we saved a ton of money on food using these q&c tickets.
I just have one question I over bought:eek: and now I don't know what to do with the ones I have left. is there a thread that I can sell them on:confused: Not looking to make a profit just what I paid for them. Thanks in advance for any help.

Where can I join, besides hotwiresavings? I want the monthly fee rather than the yearly! I need just a few more...

HI everyone! I was just wondering about character breakfast vouchers. I have two adult and two children. My kids are age 6 and 2 1/2. We are having the breakfast with Cinderella on August 23, and I was thinking that if we did the buffet I might possibly be able to use one adult and one child's voucher, instead of all four. Does anyone know if I can do that? Or have any suggestions of how to get the best deal at the breakfast? Thanks

:wave2:

WE LEAVE THIS WEDNESDAY!!!! The kids are crazy, and so are we!!!!!!princess: ::yes:: ::yes::  :earseek:

Perhaps I'm not fully understanding your question. Cinderella's is not a buffet but for buffet character meals like the Crystal Palace or Cape May Café, children under the age of 3 are free. You would not need a voucher for your toddler's meal at those place but you would need to pay for the other three members of your party. You would not be able to use just 1 adult and 1 child voucher.

For Cindy's, you would have to use at least 2 adult vouchers and 1 child's voucher. I'm not sure if the toddler is required to pay at CRT or not.

Dollar for dollar, using vouchers at CRT is a better bargain than using them at the buffets. If you have 2 adult and 2 child vouchers, use them there.

We have reservations for Cinderella's round table. The character breakfast, and I was trying to see if there was anyway to use just two vouchers instead of 4. If the voucher is used and it includes breakfast and a pastry, can one of us just eat the pastry so we could share a voucher? The pastry is the best part anyway! :)

My kids never eat much, so I figured they could share one meal anyway. I am sure they will both be too excited to eat anyway!princess:

Thanks
 :earsboy: :earsgirl:  :smooth:

No, you can't do that for CRT. The meal is pre-plated and brought to your table that way. You can get more of anything that you want but each person has to pay for a meal at this breakfast, with the possible exception of those under 3 (I'm just not that familiar with feeding the toddler set).
