Everything Virtual Queue - Please Read Post 1

Quick question: If I have a park reservation for Epcot and get a boarding group at the 7am drop but then decide to change my park reservation to another park prior to tapping into Epcot, will my VQ be cancelled automatically or would I need to manually cancel? Or is there even an option to cancel a VQ? This will be our first trip using Genie as well as using VQ. Thanks!

I haven't seen any direct reports on this particular scenario but there is an option to cancel your VQ in general. I've used it when I realized I am going to leave Epcot before my BG is called.

Are the 7AM VQ spots "selling out" instantly? Or do they last a couple minutes after 7?

We'll be there this weekend and wondering if being logged in at 7 will be a shoo in to get a boarding group or if it's still a toss up on whether we'd get one.

I haven't seen anywhere that tracks the VQ sell out times, only the ILL sell out times.

Thanks!

They usually go within a few seconds of 7am.

Thank you! At least I know I can manually cancel if needed.

Seconding this. The 1pm drop, other than on Saturdays, has been lasting a long time.
Thank you! We'll check that out if we don't get the 7AM one. Do you know if those usually start boarding around 1? Or are they late into the evening? We'll be with 3 kiddos 5 and under. Hoping we can make it till Fantasmic but it's possible they'll need to head back to the hotel significantly earlier than that.

I’m not sure what time they start boarding, the only time I’ve gotten a 1pm drop was after park hopping at 3pm and the call back was a little after 8pm on a 9:30pm closing.

Edit: just for reference, this past Saturday I had group 93 from the 7am drop and I got called back to ride just after 2pm. Yesterday they were running an hour ahead of that. It really varies day to day.

Just wondering if anyone can give some insight into how quickly VQ and ILL are going just now? Would I be best to try for VQ first at 7am, then go for ILL if I can’t get it? Are 1pm VQs not as bad still? Heading to WDW late next week! Thanks!

I was able to get a BG for GotG yesterday, but this morning, my phone reloaded the app at just the wrong moment and cost me about 1-2 seconds. BGs were already gone by the time I clicked through.

I might have been able to get a BG at 1pm, but we were planning to leave EPCOT relatively early and I was pretty certain that a BG obtained at 1pm would be for a time later than we planned to stay. Rather than try to get one that I might not use (and prevent someone else from getting to ride), I decided to just pay for ILL$ so I could select an earlier ride time.

There were still lots of times available for ILL$ at 7:05am.

My experience this morning: refreshed at 7am and got BG17 with estimated return time 10:40am. Maybe demand is down or maybe I got lucky. Not sure if it compares to trying for LL at RotR, but that didn't work out fo me at all back in March.
The parks have been less crowded since after marathon weekend which should have helped your 7am odds.

On Jan 17 I got a 9:20 return time. I think park crowds were definitely below average on the Wed and Thu of that week (after the MLK holiday), but I guess I was rather lucky too. I had a laptop running time.gov and three MDE users ready to refresh; despite roping my wife and daughter into it, I was still the one who nabbed the reservation first. I recommend first-timers watch some videos of the process; you want to take steps like selecting who's in your party ahead of time.

'You may only hold one BG at either 7am or 1pm. However, you can have one of those BG AND at EEH BG!'

What does this mean?

Thank you!

If you are staying at a deluxe resort you are eligible for extended evening hours (currently Mon for Epcot; Wed for MK; occasionally you will see a night for HS) and another BG at 6 pm only on EETPH (extended evening theme park hours) day for Epcot. You can hold one BG from one of the earlier BG drops at 7 am OR 1 pm AND one at 6 pm.

Note: You can also buy a LLIA and ride GOTG 3 times on EETPH day.

I’ve looked at the sticky threads and not sure of exact answer. This coming June we are thinking of getting a hopper for our 2 day park ticket. Is it going to be possible to get in the boarding que or ILL. Can I order anything in the am for that afternoon if I’m going to HS or MK in am? At MK we will be paying for Tron and at HS Star Wars too. I think I read we can do 2 a day

With a hopper, you can buy a ILL for Guardians even if Epcot isn't your first park - your timeslot will have to be after 2pm (you pick your time). Chances of a virtual queue spot are slim, though on lower crowd days the queue is sometimes still open at 2pm when hopping begins (you'd have to be scanning in right at 2pm and it's a risk).

You're correct - you can buy 2 ILL a day.
