So, as an AP noobie, I just wanted to clarify - if I reserve HS on a Saturday, I can still hop to MK after 2pm without a park reservation at MK, correct? I just need a park reservation somewhere to get into MK after 2pm, right?

Almost, you can hop to the MK (or any park) at anytime, once you have tapped into the park where you had your park reservation. You do not need to wait until 2 PM to hop.

No. Cannot hope to MK on Saturday or Sunday after 2 p.m

"You can enter any theme park after 2 pm without a park reservation on weekdays (this includes the MK).
On Saturday & Sunday, you can enter Epcot, DAK or DHS after 2 pm without a park reservation."

This is not correct. An AP can HOP to the MK at any point on a Saturday or Sunday as long as they have tapped into the park that held their original reservation.
