When I went to go on the computer today I found everything is small. My desktop items and online, not just the words all the boxes, everything is shrunk. Does anyone have any idea why that happened and more importantly how to fix it. I'm not very computer savvy and can't figure out how to fix it.

You need to change the settings on your monitor. You can do this by doing a right mouse click on your desktop area (not on a icon). A window will appear with several choices, click on "properties" at the bottom. The desktop properties will appear. Click on "settings" and then on "screen resolution." If you want everything bigger, click on 800x600. I have Windows XP and this is how I do it. It might be different for Windows 98, etc. I hope this helps.

Go to your control panel (start-settings-control panet). Click on the Display Icon. One of the tabs should be "settings". Go there. . .Set your screen area to a different size, and test it.

If it's not that, I'm not sure what it can be. . .reboot, run scandisk, etc.

If you have a "wheel" on your mouse, you can hold down the control key and spin the wheel one way or the other to change the size of everything.

Use cold water next time.
I find using hot water plays havoc with shrinking items in the washing machine.
Also I have..... Oh hang on a second. Disregard. ;)

Based on your saying everything changed, this should do it.

Did you check the screen settings, the way WeirdEyes described in the first response?

What screen resolution is currently set on your machine?

It is so frustrating when computers go haywire!!!! What system do you have?

I did check the screen settings before I asked then again after. Right now I have it set on 1152x864 and that helps to read everything but the sizes are still off. It really seems like it got shrunk with hot water. :D All the boxes, the AOL screen and the task bars are all smaller then normal. Words are even being cut off on the AOL screen and on my AOL task bar. I'm lost. I have a good feeling DD 4 was pushing buttons the other night. :(
