Everything Old Is New Again! - A Dec 2010 Trip Report : THE FINAL ENTRY page 45

Great update, Barry. I love the pics of the kids by Nemo...too cute. I HATE people who take flash photography when it says NOT to. :headache::headache:

It amazes me that people will stop at the first two or three fastpass machines when there are several more down the line. :confused3

We're leaving on Saturday a.m., but I'll have my laptop with me so I can hopefully keep up on the DIS (and I don't want to miss Bambi yelling at you again!). :goodvibes

But why would you want to stay snuggled up in hot old bed when there is a glorious Florida morning outside ready to great you?
Exactly!!! Carpe Diem!

Wait, is that frost on the fairway!?!
Better to have a little frost than the foot of snow and ice in Wisconsin.

(And not just the ones that work the actual graveyard shift at the Haunted Manison:rotfl2:)
:sad2:

Unfortunately, we don't have video so I don't recall what we talked about, but I do know I used my most excellent surfer voice. Totally. :thumbsup2
As long as the surfer voice is better than the puns... Any comments, Bambi???

Another awesome thing about that ride is that you can scan your picture directly onto your Photopass card. Why don't more attractions offer this?
:confused3 Probably because they know they can make you spend an extra 20 bucks if you want it. If there's one thing Disney knows, it is how to separate people from their money.:thumbsup2

Great update, and it looks like a fun morning at EPCOT. Now I guess we just have to wait on Bambi to get here and fill in the gaps in your memory. :rotfl2:

Still reading! Just not posting. :sad2:

Great pictures from the Osborne lights!!!!

It does pay to ummmm pay attention to what going on around you. Like at the CS restaurants, to to the left of the cashier when everyone is to the right. :3dglasses

Sorry the CM yelled at you in Soarin'... we had a great CM who took our picture once we were buckled in!

I can't wait to hear about the Beverly! :scared1:

Great update! I'm with you...nothing like dawn in Disney....:cloud9:

When you mentioned about the FP lines....I find the same thing with CS at lunch:lmao: God forbid someone should go to the left or right....we've gone to the left or right, have our food and are almost done by the time they get to the front to order...go figure:confused3

The kiddies always look so happy....

I always liked dawn at Disney World.
ME TOO! (FYI My name is Dawn);)

Kayden, don't worry. Fish are Friends, Not Food! Then again, you're not a fish. So you're right, you're probably going to be eaten. Go ahead and panic!

Love this pic!
Great update! Looks like a great start to your Epcot day!

great pics barry!!!:thumbsup2 is that frost on the fairway???? was it that cold????:lmao: it was cold enough for seven inches of snow!!!:lmao:

Well, I'm hopelessly behind on a lot of threads now. The nerve of you guys, continuing to update while I'm gone. Sheesh.

Anyway, the Osborne lights pictures are terrific. I love the family shot. And the early-morning treehouse shots are great, too. Nice work!

But you can't remember talking to Crush? Really?

Just read through your whole trip report. We're going this year and can't decide Halloween or Christmas. We keep going back and forth. Everything about Christmas looks so lovely.......EXCEPT the darn cold. That's what scares me.

Can't wait to read more, looks like everyone had a blast. Your little Evan seems like quite the character and Madison is gorgeous.

We went end of September last year and all Halloween stuff was out and MNSSHP had started. It was fab (see trip report ;)) I want to see the parks at Christmas time now though!

Cool about the embroidered hats. I want the Minnie mouse one lol

Barry this TR is great. I really enjoy your sense of humor.

In the last update the pics of the kids in front of Nemo and Treehouse in the morning are great.

I have decided to take another approach. My threats did not work so I am going to just roll my eyes and move on. I will give a small groan and shake my head. :sad2: I will remember all the other reason that I love him. I hope that will stop these horrible puns (knowing full well that they will never stop).

Reason? Why is that word singular? Maybe you do need to tone down the puns Barry.

Have a great trip! Even if you can't catch her yelling at me live, it will still be here - preserved for all of eternity - when you get back.

Exactly!!! Carpe Diem!
My hometown has a carp fishing tournament every year called - wait for it - Carpe Carp! :rotfl2:

Better to have a little frost than the foot of snow and ice in Wisconsin.
Wiser words have never been spoken. Except when someone says "Extra bacon, please"

:confused3 Probably because they know they can make you spend an extra 20 bucks if you want it. If there's one thing Disney knows, it is how to separate people from their money.:thumbsup2
That's the only reason I could think of too.:sad2:

I'm getting old. If I didn't have the pictures to go back through I probably wouldn't even remember that we went to Epcot that day.

Still reading! Just not posting. :sad2:
Still writing. But you already knew that....

It does pay to ummmm pay attention to what going on around you. Like at the CS restaurants, to to the left of the cashier when everyone is to the right. :3dglasses
I always do that. There will be like 4 people in line on the right, I'll walk up on the left, place my order and the dirtiest looks!

I can't wait to hear about the Beverly! :scared1:
I don't think Kaylene trusted us a tour guides anymore after that little episode. :rotfl2:

Great update! I'm with you...nothing like dawn in Disney....:cloud9:

Thanks! Those are probably the same people that don't use FastPass then complain that all they did during their vacation was stand in line. :confused3

Great update! Looks like a great start to your Epcot day!
It's awesome when we can hit all 4 major attractions before lunch!:thumbsup2

great pics barry!!!:thumbsup2 is that frost on the fairway???? was it that cold????:lmao: it was cold enough for seven inches of snow!!!:lmao:
Yep, frost on the fairway. It burned off pretty fast one the sun was up, but yeah, it was that cold.

Well, I'm hopelessly behind on a lot of threads now. The nerve of you guys, continuing to update while I'm gone. Sheesh.
Sorry. I'll try to institue a "no Mark left behind" policy from now on.
Anyway, the Osborne lights pictures are terrific. I love the family shot. And the early-morning treehouse shots are great, too. Nice work!
Thank you. I wish I had more time to hang around the tree houses and take more pictures - it's really neat over there. Oh well, more motivation to go back. But there's only 4 of us, and the place sleeps 9. Know of a family of 5 that would like come down and bunk with us?:confused3:confused3
But you can't remember talking to Crush? Really?
I remember talking to him about the differences in our "offspring" but I don't remember any exact words. I'm getting old, remember?

But you can't remember talking to Crush? Really barry wasnt, :drinking1 ?????
If I was :drinking1 at that time of the morning, there's no way I could have met up with you at 8pm that night!

We went end of September last year and all Halloween stuff was out and MNSSHP had started. It was fab (see trip report ;)) I want to see the parks at Christmas time now though!

Cool about the embroidered hats. I want the Minnie mouse one lol
They do a fantastic job with the decorations at all the parks. It's a must see!

Barry this TR is great. I really enjoy your sense of humor.
Thanks! At least someone is!:woohoo::woohoo:
In the last update the pics of the kids in front of Nemo and Treehouse in the morning are great.
Thank you!

Reason? Why is that word singular? Maybe you do need to tone down the puns Barry.
Hmmm...I didn't notice that. :sad1:

I wanted to say hi  and that I'm really enjoying your TR! Evan and Madison are too cute!
Thank you! And hi  right back!

That's usin' the ole knoggin'! Nice call!

I think you might be onto something.:lmao::lmao::lmao:
:thumbsup2

My hometown has a carp fishing tournament every year called - wait for it - Carpe Carp! :rotfl2:
I don't know if you've ever seen Out Cold... it is funny but stupid (perfect for your sense of humor) and it is the first movie I ever saw Zack Galifianakis in.

Anyway, your reply made me think of a line from that movie:
"Carpe the diem! Sieze the Carp!"

To catch everyone up (since it has been two days since my last update) we had just landed from our all-to-quick aerial tour of California and had reemerged into the glorious but cold Florida sunshine.
We made our way down the hill and hung a quick right, directly into the stampeding hordes of people heading into Journey into Imagination. Just kidding, we walked right in. The kids were excited because they got to ride all by themselves in the front of the car!
IMG_3947.JPG

We had just pulled into the scent lab, I had the camera ready.

Hey Madison, what do you think of the skunk smell?
IMG_3949.JPG

Can you tell she's been on this ride before?

The kids enjoying the waterfa...well, I guess you can't call it a waterfall, because the water is not falling. So, here is a picture of the kids enjoying the waterrise.
IMG_3951.JPG

Hey! Who's thirsty? That sure is a lot of walking around Future World, isn't it? Man, I'm parched. Who want's a soda? Is anyone else's throat dry? I could really go for a little liquid refreshment.

Here you go Kaylene. It's Italian. And Italians make some pretty awesome stuff. Shoes, Ferraris, wine.
IMG_3954.JPG

Oh, I guess I forgot to tell you. As awesome as they are at making some things, they suck at making soda. Sorry about that.

Kayden tried it too, but unfortunately I didn't get a good picture. Anyway, after sampling some of the other less - shall we say nasty - beverages, we headed out of Club Cool and turned towards Future World. We were easily distracted, however, by a Photopass Photographer.

IMG_3957.JPG

Some of you may recognize that as our Christmas Card this year. For those of you that don't...well, I'm sure the Post Office lost it or something.

IMG_3961.JPG

I love the angel holding the globe tree topper at Epcot.

A friendly wave self portrait in China. (The odd square thing on my head is not any type of robotic or cybernetic attachment that was installed by a secret department of our government. Its...uh...the external flash on the camera. Yeah, that makes sense. It's the flash from the camera sticking up. Totally.)
IMG_3967.JPG

Hey kids, do you know what time it is? It's tradition time! Yes, every time we got to Epcot, we let the kids get their face painted at the Outpost/Generic Africa area.

IMG_3985.JPG

While we were hanging around getting face paint and banging on the drums, Carl (DisneyDadC) stopped by on his trip around the world. And since the rule is pictures or it didn't happen - well, I guess it didn't happen. (But it really did)

As much as the architecture and ambiance of each of the pavilions is awesome, the kids just aren't into it quite yet. We did some wandering during our stroll around the lagoon, but not too much TR-wothy antics. Sorry to disappoint you. Let me make it up to you with some Christmas decoration photos:

Big Germany getting into the spirit:

And even Little Germany gets some holiday decor!

American Pavilion:
IMG_3995.JPG

There was a doll shop set up outside of the American Adventure that Madison just fell in love with. They had these dolls dressed up as just about all of the princesses and princes. Thanks to grandma & grandpa, she now has 4 of these in her room at home.
IMG_3997.JPG

IMG_4002.JPG

Bambi and Evan watching the Japanese fish.
IMG_4015.JPG

Kaylene asked if they had sushi at the Japanese pavilion. We've never eaten there, so I decided to wander a bit and found out that they do. I'd never had sushi until that day when Kaylene talked me into trying it. (And by "talked me into" I mean she said "do you want to try some?") So it wasn't just Kaylene and Kayden experiencing something for the first time. Verdict: awesome!

One more Christmas decoration picture - England:
IMG_4020.JPG

Huh. Well, it turned out that this was another pretty picture heavy update with very few words. I'm sure some of you are disappointed by that. Others are rejoicing. Either way, I'll have another one coming up, maybe as soon as this afternoon. Or not.

UP NEXT: Characters! Characters! Where did all of these characters come from?

Have a great trip! Even if you can't catch her yelling at me live, it will still be here - preserved for all of eternity - when you get back.

Thanks; we're going from 43 to 83 degrees...I'm liking that a WHOLE lot. Oh, I'll be checking in. I have to be sure you don't start any more nonsense on Illinois, plus Bambi yelling at you "at the moment" is a lot better than reading it a week later. ;)
