Everything Michigan....

How much did you guys get in Monroe? We got just under 6 in Wyandotte.

My husband is taking the kids to Mt. Trashmore for some snow boarding time and sledding.. Me I get to take my dad to Detroit to the doctors..

Mt. Trashmore:rotfl2:.......been there done that, it workded I guess......only ski hill I have been on without a tree!!!!! (thats the way I remember it anyway)....
I havent done Crystal, Boyne, Shanty in a few years.......prices were always too high for a weekend......We looked at 3 day weekend awhile back, was about $1200 not including food......heck we could go to DISNEY cheaper........ I'll just ski at Bittersweet & Timber Ridge this year......

Hope everyone is enjoying the snow.......12" in Battle Creek, I snowblowed 3 times in 12 hours........

We are on a springbreak cruise in 52 days!!!! WOOOO HOOOOOO

Another snow day here. . .not sure why--must be those pesky dirt roads again. :lmao:

We also have another snow day today AND we have Friday, Monday and Tuesday off for President's Day. My kids don't go back to school until the 17th!

Just gotta laugh because I didn't know anyone referred to it by that nickname anymore! I've skied all over the country, on some of the most difficult mountains North America can throw at you, and the only place I've ever been hurt was Riverview Highlands.

Its funny but around here thats all that place is refered to as. :lmao:

1gr8mouse how is Crystal? My dh wants to go there for his bday next Jan.. :scared1: and I agree pricing it out I can go to DW 2X's for the price of a weekend there.. If it wasn't his 40th i'd say forget it.

Crystal is great.....lots of runs, very well managed/groomed.....top notch.....I have not stayed on property there......We like staying in Traverse City......Traverse City puts you in the middle of Crystal, Shanty, Nubs Nob, Boyne....Quite a bit cheaper too.........it is a drive though.....

not too much snow here in Bloomfield Hills. It's nice to get a break this year, but i'm bracing myself for some unpredicted downpour of it just because we haven't gotten anything major yet!

Thanks for your input. My dh wants ski in ski out... Whatever that means.. I don't ski at all nor do I like the winter weather :rotfl: I'll be content staying inside..

My DMIL lives in Bloomfield Hills, just off of Lahser! Glad to hear that she isn't getting snowed in. She had a very expensive automatic generator installed in her house last year, hopefully she wont' have to use it!

Funny to hear about Mt. Trashmore. They were building it when I was in HS. My friend went sledding on it (tresspassing) and sliced her hand open on a wire sticking up out of the dirt. Lots of stitches and pain. I guess they have covered the trash better so that kind of thing didn't happen when they opened!

Do they charge admission?

Your DH wants to step out of the condo./hotel in his ski boots.....drop his skis in the snow and skate over to the lift and go.......its the way to go if you want to spend the $$$, I stayed in Vermont and did that....it was great.....

RE: MT. Trashmore....I went to a Red Wings game over the weekend and stayed in the city......sorry folks......what a dump the city has become...pretty sad.......We went to IKEA and then to the outlet mall in Howell......drove right past Mt. Brighton......it was going strong.....I told DW it was a landfill....she just looked at me and said "Your kidding??" she couldnt believe it.......pretty funny........

Yes they do charge to ski there.....have no clue how much now.....15 years ago it was about $25 for a lift ticket.......

They haven't had skiing there in years but its open for sledding. You can go skiing or snowboarding yourself just no lifts.. Its all free..

Snow day today :scared1:

We've gotten about 5 inches of snow so far and its still coming down. Good ole Chuck said 1 to 2 inches with rain yesterday.. :sad2:

Oh well its off to Mt. Trashmore for some sledding and skiing.. :yay:

Have a good day everyone!

I think they are going to have to add days.......we must be around 5-6 snow days........

Did everyone enjoy the hockey game last night??? USA USA USA !!!!:thumbsup2

I thought is was awesome that Rafalski of the Red Wings scored the first 2 goals for USA .......the coach of Canada is Mike Babcock, (coach of the Red Wings)......I think Rafalski is going to be skating extra laps when he gets back to Red Wing practices !!!!

The goalie Miller is from Michigan too! His brother plays for the wings.. He had some amazing saves last night. It was the michigan guys that won it IMO!! :rolleyes1

Well we got about 8" of snow total. So far we have had 2 snow days.. I say that its enough for the year bring on spring.:yay:

We received about 7 inches today, and this is ds7's 2nd snow day this season. I'd like to thank the road department though, this year they have been on the ball . :thumbsup2

Previous years for some even when they had limitless funding it would take them half the week to eventually wander on down to plow our side road. They had our road plowed by this evening. :thumbsup2

Hello fellow Michiganders.
I just found this thread so I thought I would chime in from the farthest SW city in the state.:beach:

so how about the 80 degree or near 80 degree weather we had today!!! Super awesome!!However I wasn't able to enjoy very much of it (ended up being sick and stayed in bed all day doing homework that I neglected during Easter weekend).
