Everything Michigan....

It's been snowing since about 7:30 this morning and still going at it. Awhile ago, I couldn't see across the street. HAd to drive from Holland to Muskegon this morning and back this afternoon. Roads were fine but visability sucked.

Over 100 inches of snow around here this winter according to the weather man.

We got about 3 inches here downriver. Enough to make my hubbie go out and shovel it. :teeth:

Just had to share - Our house hunt is over! It was fun to fantasize about acreage or moving back to the city, but in the end we had to go with what was best for the kids. We bought a 4 bedroom, 1500sq ft house on 1/4 acre just down the street from our current home for 19K, and we've got to be moved in by the end of this month because I've already got a renter for this house set to move in 3/1.

Now for the fun part - the house is in liveable condition as is but is badly in need of updating, so I get to do some big time design/decorating shopping!!
Oooh - what fun!! Congratulations on your move. Hope it goes very smoothly for you - and 19,000 - WOW!!!!! Good deal!
Is everybody enjoying this wonderful Michigan winter???:thumbsup2
We got about 6 inches of snow up here - just south of Traverse City.

Did everyone from Michigan survive the winter??

We went to Gulf Shores Al over spring break, I think we missed the last snow of the year (B.C. had 5" while we were gone)!!! YEAH !!!!

Anyone doing the free dining promotion??.....we might......I just havent told my wife yet!!!!! (I mean, asked if we can!!!)

We just came back from the World and it was great to be in warm weather. We didn't get snow here from what we heard. Missed us somehow. :cool1: Hoping it starts to warm up soon.

We went to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge and it snowed. It was funny watching the southern tourists all hide inside. It was one of the few days it was easy to get around!

Then, we called home to check on the pets and DD told us she got stuck in the driveway due to the snow.

Winter is over? Please tell me this is a fact! I'm not convinced, though.

No snow up here HA ha! Looks like summer out my window, even started spring planting in the feilds.

I made the call......its over (its factual) !!!! Bring on the spring.....back off on the rain a bit, and get some dry 70 deg. days!!!

We have a new yard and I am trying to plant grass.....rain keeps washing the seed to the low spot in the back yard....which is now a pond......a duck was in it when I came home from work......is that a bad sign???

Spring break??? How were the crowds???

Oh wow! I didn't think anyone else was in MI. Hello:yay:

I'm not from Michigan but I am crazy enough to go to school here - I don't know how I made it through the last few winters!! That aside, the state is gorgeous in the Spring and I'm excited for all the flowers to bloom. I currently live on the west side of the state. Only two more weeks of Michigan and then I'm moving to Disney for the summer

A-squared or East Lansing? Or elsewhere?

We're the former here...and my DH was a college program cast member.

If you're in Ann Arbor, April is a lovely time. April and September, there's no place I'd rather be.

I've noticed quite a lot of advertisments for Michigan in the past week - Pure Michigan. It's actually making me want to investigate what there is to see in your state.

There are actually a lot of hidden treasures here in MI.. We are actually going to be able to go camping some this summer and I can't wait!

It's that time of year again.... Stanley Cup Playoffs!

First up, Columbus, who made the playoffs for the first time in their eight year history. I'm afraid their fans are still getting used to the particular notions surrounding the NHL playoffs!

Wings fans got two pieces of bad news regarding the playoffs this week:
1) ESPN's Barry Melrose blessed the Wings with his "kiss of death" by picking them to repeat as Cup winners this year!
2) Dan O'Halloran was announced as one of the referees for the playoffs!

Also, some very funny TV commercials from the Boston Bruins!!

I know we are excited here. Although i'm not thinking we are gonna go very far this year. I hope they prove me wrong.
I'm not too worried at this point... The team was basically loafing he last three or so games and some key players were resting and nursing injuries (Hossa and Rafalski). I also think Ozzie will get this mojo going like last year. I'm also glad that we're staying "in the neighborhood" for the first round instead of having to go to the West Coast.

Good win tonight!!! I think the CBJ goalie will be telling his mates to stay the heck away from the puck when the wings shoot!!!! Redirect city!!!
Ozzie looked pretty good....I just dont have 100% confidence in him...I dont think anyone does!!!

Good win tonight!!!
One down, fifteen to go!

I only saw the third period as I had to go shopping this evening, but I kept checking the score on my cell phone. I saw that it was 0-0 after 1, and thought "Man, they're going to mess around and end up blowing it". I'm glad I was wrong and saw it was 3-1 when I got back to the car.

I checked my Wings version of the DISboards and see that people are already starting "Sorry we doubted you Ozzie" threads. I'm not worried about Ozzie, and it looks like the D is tightening up around him. However, I wish Lilja would get healthy again!

Guess what opened last Friday
