We have large oak trees in our front yard and we found numerous branches in our yard this morning. They range from twigs to 3 inches in diameter, all came down due to the wond. We had to remove them before we could leave our driveway as there were some that I didn't want to chance driving over.

Speaking of driving over, OMG some of the potholes that we passed along are deep There's a huge one at the mall in front of Don Pedro's (?)! Now that one can do some serious damage!

It's Don Pablo's!!! Branches/trees are down all over the state....with the high winds and the trees being semi frozen....it was bound to happen.. the ground is frozen and the thaw makes the asphalt shift......causes all the pot holes.....(and the heavy trucks) watch the back county roads.....very bad......drive slow!!!

We lost power today for about 2 minutes....I assumed the power co. shut it off while repairing something close to us......

No snow left here in Battle Creek.......what about east of here???

As of right now, it's supposed to snow Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday, with the heaviest snow being on Friday. If you're renting a car, watch out for the potholes, some of them are HUGE!

We rented a Hummer in February, the last time we visited, just for fun and because my nephews begged me to. After reading through the pothole reports, I think I might again, out of necessity!

My girls will be thrilled to hear that there's snow in the forecast!

Anyone else without power? We lost ours when the cold front came thru Sunday morning very early. Still waiting for power to come back since the house is getting mighty cold.

Thankfully we didn't lose power here up north, but I know people in Berkley/Royal Oak did. My parents were without power for about 12 hrs.

We've also lost almost all of our snow. It was absolutely beautiful and then BAM, rain, rain, rain. Now everything is brown and nasty. Not happy at all. I'm glad some snow will be coming again this week.

Who is Williamson? Haven't heard of him up here. I agree about the Candace Miller vs. Terry Land. Too funny. Hoekstra is my rep up here too - he's a great guy and I'd love to see him governor. Can't wait until Granholm is out of here. I know she didn't get us into this mess, but she hasn't done much to get us out of it either.

We thankfully never lost power. My mom, however, was not so lucky. My DIL is off work today because her office in Kalamazoo has no power. IT's supposed to get windy again today.

We ended up taking down the tree this morning and are going to head to the library. I think I am going to get over to Meijer's to do some grocery shopping. We cleaned out all our leftovers.

Power was out all over down here on Sunday. 3 cities by me. (Trenton, Southgate, Brownstown) Police were out in forces controlling traffic. Now its high winds. I was laughing my dh put out our garbage and before he could throw a heavy bag on our tree last night to hold it down it was 3 house away

Power is out in the livonia area right now. It went down yesterday during the wind storm.

It is cold, but we have held onto our power all through these horrendous winds over the past few days. The wind has subsided, but I understand it will be kicking back up soon AND snow is in the forecast--doesn't sound like much though--thank heaven.

We have had flooding in our area from the big melt. Our son's fraternity flooded in the basement and I hear there are a good many others with water issues as well.

I am so over winter. . .

Count me in!!! I was waiting 10 years to retire, but with my 401K in the dumper I might as well retire now and head straight to Disney and start working.......until I die !!!!

The last stats I heard by North American Van Lines said about 80% of their Michigan based trucks are moving people out of the state, only 20% come back loaded with household goods!! Not good!!!!

It sounds like most of the power is restored throughout the state...

Hi Michiganders! Got that snow on Tuesday night in Royal Oak and got a chance to take the kids sledding at Sylvan Glen Golf Course on Wednesday morning, just like I did when I was a little boy. Flew back to Florida late last night. I sure hope your economy turns around here soon. From an outsiders perspective, the disparity between the have and have not neighborhoods around the city is pretty striking. All in all though we had a great time...when it comes to decent, friendly people, Midwesterners are among the nation's best.

It was so beautiful here yesterday. Now its so windy you can barely walk in it. Last night was horrible. It woke my husband up that can sleep through ANYTHING. I know the little bit of snow we did get it was so cold out that my kids couldn't even play out for long.

Helllloooo!!! I missed seeing you when we went up to Detroit for Christmas. I'm sorry, we just couldn't get a schedule together. We got to visit with DH's family, and the boys had about a foot and a half of snow waiting for them to play in. It lasted almost our entire trip. They got to go sledding near their cousins house, they had a ball. I almost feel bad that they miss out on that white crap..ALMOST.. Michigan in the winter was just as I remembered...gray, slushy, salty, gray, gray, gray..

We had a really nice time, hope you guys had a good holiday.



Another Michigan store chain to add to the list, just remembered these yesterday. Anyone remember "Jeans Galore" and "Pants Galore"? I got all my low riding hip huggers there...
