Your meal at Mama Melrose looks so good!!!

It was!! I could go for that pasta right about now!

Glad you had a nice meal at Mama Melrose

Looked so yummy. Might have to ck that out next time :goodvibes

Osborne Lights are beautiful of course :wizard:

I was scared to go after knowing that 50s would be a safe bet with my family but I'm glad we went out on a limb and tried something new!

Mmmm, Mama Melrose is so good! I think we had that same dessert when we were there. Yum!

Nice deal on the pins too. :thumbsup2

I would like that right about now too!

Better late than never, right??!! Life's been crazy over here! But, I'm in now and all caught up! Everything looks great so far! Can't wait for more...starting my TR probably tomorrow!

I'm glad you started, I love the pics!!

Hey Dis!!!!!!

After reading some other TRs, I feel that mine is wayyy slow compared to others and maybe I should update more often? Or not since I don't have another trip planned :(

FRIDAY DEC 11TH--EPCOT PM EMH

So when I left off, we were on our way out of DHS after a great yummy meal at MM and on our way to Epcot for EMH. Last year when my fam came to visit in Dec (same week) it was FREEZING on that Friday...so cold that we did not stay for EMH.

This year was different, cold, not freezing so we stayed!:thumbsup2 When we got there our first stop was......

Art of Disney lol.

If you read my TR, one of my "must buys" were as many Precious Moment figurines as possible since they were 1/2 off. I had 2 or 3 in mind before I went and well ended up with 3 so not bad!

We walked in and I was sad to find that they were out of the Peter Pan ride one but I ended up with a Christmas/Santa one and the one with the boy and girl, mickey balloons, and mickey bars. I paid and had them sent back to WL and we were on our way to.....

ya, no rides...

CLUB COOL!!!!

Dbro:

Ready...

Set Go!!!

108.jpg

Not so good :(

110.jpg

After that we went to....

nope, no rides still!!!

At that time of the night we figured all of the "E Ticket" rides will have waits, the non "E Ticket" things would be closed so we headed to WS to check out some of the shows...

And then it started to rain. Well, we ended up buying the ponchos but with 1/2 off you don't feel as bad paying for them then haha. :rotfl2::rotfl:

We walked into the store in Germany and by the time we paid for the ponchos, got them on, and left the store, the rain stopped. Figures.

We walked to the UK and saw:

113.jpg

After the show we decided to get our spot for Illuminations. After living in WDW for over a year, I did more than just work, I found good fireworks spots lol. That being, the area when you first walk in that slopes down and opens up so that all can see. Well good plan except this year with the raise in CLP price, they also give you fireworks viewing and that's it so we had to find a new spot and ended up standing between Germany and Africa right on the lake and it was not bad!!!

I made the decision to spend one night watching Illuminations and one night taking pics. I watched this night so no pics!

After the super long show  EMH had started so we were off!!!!!

......

To no rides. It was food time again! We were headed to Mexico to enjoy some Churros when we saw a short line for Maelstrom and took a detour to the ride. After the ride we got our snack and headed for the Mexico ride. Inside Mexico, I'm pretty sure we saw a Dis'er meet but not sure so we rode and left!

By that point it was pushing 10 and we decided that maybe we weren't into EMH so much, TT was down bc of the weather, MS we can ride whenever, and we wanted to wait to ride Soarin' the next day at Rope Drop so we decided to shop in Mouse Gear, ride SE, and head back to WL :)

On the way out we took:

After a 10 min ride back to WL we got settled in the room and I took these:

I think WL is sooo pretty at night!!! When I was taking the pics, I noticed that the hot tubs were empty so I convinced DM that we should go crash them!!

We took our mugs and filled them up and headed for the hot tubs!!!

I guess now would be a great time to mention that poor DM had a semi-magical trip this time.

When DM and Dbro were getting on the plane to WDW the flight attendent was walking down the asile and Dbro told DM to get seated that the girl was trying to pass and when DM went to get into the asile of seats she twisted her leg thus leaving her with 5 days of horrid leg pain and that is not a good mix with fast paced walking family :(

I was hoping that the hot tub and a good night of rest would help her!!

but would it?!

Even if you have nothing set in stone, you should plan a trip that could possibly happen and put a ticker in your signature. Always makes me feel better :wizard:

Even though you didnt go on a log of rides at EMH, it looks like it still was a great night.

Love the shots from WL at night..so pretty :goodvibes

That stinks about your mom. Hope hot tub helps her :goodvibes

It was a great night!! I wish it would have been warmer and my wishes must have come true since the rest of the trip was in the mid 80s!!!!

Awesome update!!! Great night photos of Epcot!! Can't wait to see what the next installment holds!!! Sounds juicy!!

Hi Dis!!!!

I feel like I'm losing viewers :( My posts are getting fewer and fewer!! Well, I guess I'll keep writing to keep myself happy while I sit inside today and see snow on the ground..when it was 50 this past weekend!!!

Moving on!!!

DAY 2--12/12/09

EPCOT

CLP DINNER/SHOW

When we left off, we were happily in bed for our first night at WL. Since I did not sleep at all the first night at YC, I fell right to sleep in my bottom bunk of the bunkbed!

Like I had said, DM was struggling with her battle of getting into the aisle of seats on the airplane and now was faced with a twisted lower leg :( Of course the first day of her struggle and us not knowing how much in pain she was, there were joking comments made throughout the day of her getting an ECV and how Dd was going to walk away and not dealing with that. My Dd can be harsh sometimes...

Remember this in a few mins...

Well after our rested night in our beds, we woke up at 7:30am thanks to Stitch, to this....

123.jpg

124.jpg

125.jpg

It wasn't a sunny day yet but it was already warmer at 7:30 than the high the day before and at that point, our next 4 days at WDW would be in the mid 80s :cool1::cool1::cool1:

I also got right on the phone and talked to my former WDW roomie-E who was coming to visit/work for a week and was on her way from Cali!!!

After a short convo with E who was in TX via Red Eye from LA, I began to get ready for our day at EPCOT!!!

Dm got up and her leg pain was feeling worse but was a trooper and took some advil and we headed down to Roaring Forks for breakfast.

I didn't take breakfast pics but throughout the stay at WL we pretty much ate one of every breakfast item from the breakfast platters to oatmeal to pastries. That morning, I had a bagel and some fruit and we were off in our beloved rental van to EPCOT!!!!!!

Epcot is my fav park by far. I would spend tons of time going to Epcot..just sometimes to walk around by myself on my days off. It's awesome exercise!! Not to mention I LOVE Mouse Gears and all the countries! One of my goals as a CP/PI was to eat at every restaurant in WS...it was accomplished with the additions of eating at Coral Reef and Garden Grill!!!

We got there at 8:30 and headed for the CM Entrance line which was already past the ticket booth :scared1:

Our plan of rope drops is:

I get the family into the park with my main gate pass. We walk to the point where they stop us. Dbro gets all the 3 park tickets and my WDW ID and when the rope drops, Dbro walks swiftly to the first ride to obtain FP's and we ride the ride.

We got in with no trouble, the CMs were all great and on their game with WDW IDs/Main Gates and we got in the 2nd row of the rope drop. When the park opened Dbro was #3 in line for a FP machine...until it broke down.

and then THEY ALL BROKE DOWN :scared1::scared1::scared1:

You are probably thinking, why does it matter, we've ridden the ride before. I lived there for crying out loud but to be honest. In the year 1/2 I lived there, I probably rode the ride 10x. It is soooo hard to get on the ride unless you are willing to wait 1 hour, which I'm not. I could not remember the last time I rode it.

The CM quickly fixed the machines and we got our FP. We got in line and it was already a 20min wait :scared1: After a quick ride we left and headed to Figment!!!! After Figment it was time for our FP but we decided to wait and head to TT to get a FP. We went and got our FP for TT, rode single rider, and then headed to MS.

Dbro LOVES... the spinny version. I agreed to ride it. Dd and Dm rode the non-spinny one. We walked right into the debriefing room and were off in 10min. At that point it was time for our TT FP so we rode it, rode Soarin' again, and SE on the way out.

At that point it was nearing 80 and the pool was calling our names!!!!
Dm was also feeling her leg pain and needed a rest so we got into our van and headed for our "home."

These were taken on the way out..

127.jpg

128.jpg

After a short ride back Dm and I changed into our suits and we were off to the pool!!!!

Our room was the one with the blue swimsuit that you see!

130.jpg

Our first stop...

131.jpg

After getting some fruity drinks I kept eying up the hair wrap station. I'm not sure why but ever since our first deluxe resort stay at Poly in 1998 (age 13) but I have been in love with hair wraps. My friends and I thought it was sooo hard to work at WDW and not be able to get one so I decided why the heck not. My kids at school would like it and headed over. I chose colors red, green, and white for Xmas. After 15 mins my hair wrap was done and into the pool I went!!! It cost $23 and I tipped $5.

132.jpg

In all of the times that we stayed at WL, I never went down the slide so I hit the slide first!! It was pretty cool!! Not as cool as SAB of course!

For it being a Sat in Dec, it was not very busy!!

134.jpg

After an hour or so at the pool we had to shower and get ready for our night of CLP Dinner/Show.

You know what, when my Dm was taking it out for me on New Years Day, I realized I did not take a pic of it!! There are pics of me with it like hanging down as you'll see in the next post but no actual pic of it..sorry!! I guess was too caught up in my fruity drink and 85 degrees I forgot about it lol.

Thanks for the update, Megan :) Looking forward to more!

Thanks..stay tuned!!

Oh, don't leave us hanging..... please come back.... pretty please......

Epcot--CLP Dinner & Show

When we left off, Dm and I had left the pool to get ready for our Epcot dinner and CLP show. Dd and Dbro were already ready to go so Dm showered and I passed figuring I'd be hitting the hot tub again due to the early closing of the park that night (9:30).

We had gotten all of our goodies and were headed out to the parking lot to our once again beloved and worth every penny rental van. While walking to the van Dd started on Dm again about her injury and Dbro and I were about to get into the car when Dm and Dd just got into it.

It was a 10min screaming fight in the parking lot about Dd making fun of Dm's injury and there were cuss words involved and Dbro and I just stood there embarassed and didn't say anything. Dd got into the car when Dm declared she was not going to the dinner or the show and began walking back to the resort. Dd then screamed at me to go after her and get her in the car :scared1::eek::sad2:

Isn't it the kids that are usually the problems at WDW???? After 5 mins of coaxing Dm into the car and saying that her and I would leave Epcot after Illuminations and not go to MK for shopping during their EMH, she said fine and got into the car.

After a silent and rather long 10min ride to Epcot we arrived and began to walk to WS for our 4:00 ADR at Nine Dragons. When we got there the Chinese Players were beginning to do their show out front so we got our pager and headed outside to watch the kids perform. After 5 mins we were paged and headed in. We sat down and had this view...

I promise, I did not request it!!!

135.jpg

136.jpg

137.jpg

When we arrived the place was empty as you can see in the pics. By the time we left, the place was packed. They were turning people away at the podium who did not have an ADR. Between the dinner packages for CLP and free dining, all the ADRs had been taken for the rest of the month I'm sure.

Dm and I..she is much happier in this pic:

138.jpg

A view from behind our seats:

139.jpg

All 4 of us ordered the green tea type Chinese drink. Our server said you can't get it anywhere but Nine Dragons..we all wished you could get it elsewhere, it was awesome!!

We ordered our Appetz that came w/the dinner package and they came shortly after the drinks:

Dbro got the shrimp lollipops:

140.jpg

I got the pot stickers and Dd and Dm got egg rolls:

141.jpg

We finished our appetz pretty quickly and all agreed they were good. They were better than your standard Chinese place but they have not been to PF Changs so I don't know if I want to spoil that meal for them by taking them to a national chain!!

Finally our entrees came! Prior to that we had each consumed 3 glasses of the tea!

Dd and I got the honey chicken:

142.jpg

Dm got the chix rice:

143.jpg

You can see the tea in that pic. The color reminds me of Mt. Dew which I do not enjoy but the tea is amazing!

Dbro got the shrimp and the spinach noodles (he was the adventurous one)

144.jpg

We all agreed that there was more than enough food for us. Dd ate all his, I ate most and Dbro finished it off as well as Dm's chix rice.

Soon it was time for dessert!!

Dm and I got the Ginger Cake:

145.jpg

It was very good and light in taste. It was very similar if not the same as the one they serve at Teppan Edo

Dd and Dbro got Banana Cheesecake Egg roll w/ice cream:

146.jpg

Our server said that they would be able to get it if two people got it so Dbro at the egg roll and Dd wanted the ice cream so it worked out!!!

We all said the meal was pretty good! We said not a fav but if we were looking for something that was a stable choice with not a lot of flair that this is a good choice! We'd choose it over a burger TS location any day!!

I was glad they thought it was a hit. I was a bit worried as Dd does not enjoy your typical Chinese food but enjoyed this bistro type of food!!

After one last sip of our yummy tea and paying the bill we got our tags for the 6:45 CLP show and headed out into the heat towards AM pavilion to get in line for the show!!

UP NEXT:

HOW FAR BACK WILL WE HAVE TO STAND IN LINE FOR THE SHOW?!

WILL OUR SEATS BE GOOD?!

WILL IT RAIN?!!

STAY TUNED!!!!

Hi Megan!! I just found your TR and I'm really enjoying it! I used to be a teacher before I had kids--I taught Kindergarten! And how cool that you worked at the BBB!! My DD5 LOVES the BBB!! We are staying at the WL when we go in Dec. so I'm loving your pics. We normally stay at the Poly so I'd love to hear any tips you might have for the WL!!! Can't wait to read more!! :goodvibes

I see I am slacking and missed this last update

Glad you were able to calm your mom down. Hope she was able to enjoy the rest of her evening

I am not a big fan of chinese foood, but that actually looked pretty good :goodvibes

Thanks for writing!!!!

I miss BBB so much! I went back and found your post of BBB in your last TR. I'm glad DD had a great time. I love all the FGITs but the one you had--"M" is not one of the bests but I'm glad to see that you had a good experience. I looked back and worked at 7:30 that day and could have sworn I saw your DD by looking at your pics!!

WL is wonderful :) If you booked a Bunkbed-courtyard view, make sure you call reservations and request an inner courtard view: looking at the pool. We don't like lower level rooms so I called and requested inner courtyard on an upper floor and got inner courtyard on floor 3 and it was perfect!! If not then I just wasted all this space lol.

Artist Point is the best meal I've had at WDW and I'll be talking about that in future posts. If you are on the DDP or want to spend some extra $$$ it's worth it! WCC is fun too! I've been for breakfast and dinner and both are great. I've been there more for breakfast. Roaring Forks CS is our fav CS. They don't offer much but it never seems busy..even in Dec and it's home to us as Cap't Cooks at the Poly is to you I'm sure! Pool is awesome..get there early if its 85 degrees like when we were there. The area is not huge and ppl tend to scoop up chairs.

I'm sure I'll think of other things and I'll update you!!!

I see I am slacking and missed this last update

Glad you were able to calm your mom down. Hope she was able to enjoy the rest of her evening

I am not a big fan of chinese foood, but that actually looked pretty good :goodvibes

She did enjoy the night! Thanks :) My dad is not a Chinese food fan and LOVED the food!
