Everything Booked solid this weekend!

I know it is last minute and all, but isn't January supposed to be Value season and not so busy. I was trying to surprise DW, DS15, DS6 and bring them back to Disney for a quick weekend trip. I just got off the phone with MS and they said every single room is booked in every resort. I understand that Monday is a holiday, but come on now, there is not 1 room anywhere?

Not surprised... I've been on MLK weekend a few times and it is insane there... I mean, most of us here in NY don't have that 3 day weekend but a lot of folks do (and kids!)

We're going the following weekend... Just to get out of the winter for 2 days...

Yes, MLK weekend is very, very busy. We used to travel mid-January, that's why we go early December now. It seems no matter when in January we planned we hit MLK.

I'm not surprised either. It's a long weekend. I don't think there is really a "slow" time anymore. I called about 3 weeks ahead for a Sunday night in mid October, every DVC resort was soldout, every room size. I ended up at POFQ.

No, not surprised for ANY winter holiday weekend to be fully booked.

The points are lowest to encourage people to book. In that regard, the system works.

DVCs are designed to be at max occupancy year-round.

It was even hard to get a studio anywhere on property four months ago for this weekend. Thankfully it came through at the beginning of December.

They said to check back at 9 am evryday, because all the rooms are free that are available at that time of day everyday.......we will see if I get in this weekend.....I'll keep you posted.

I have to agree w/ the above poster. Call back everyday. In early december I was calling about 5 days before trying to get a room. You never know who will have to cancel because of family emergency, with winter here the weather.

Call a few times a day. Even try at the end of the day. That's when I've been luckiest.

That's over, but people may still be there thru this weekend and this weekend is Martin Luther King weekend with the holiday next Monday.

Well I still haven't found any rooms at any DVC yet, I will keep trying every morning. We did however get a suite at the Courtyard by Marriot in The Marriot Village right on Vineland not too far from DTD. We had some Marriot Rewards points so it is a FREE 3 night stay!

I will keep you posted on if I get something thru DVC, but my family will be at WDW this weekend with the rest of the masses!!!

It really isn't that surprising. 3 day weekend=families going while they can escape school. And considering that it's within a week most of the rooms that weren't booked have probably been released to CRO.

We're going this weekend since we hae not only the MLK holiday, but also the semester break. (and most NC schools have break about the same time) I've been trying since September to get a 2 bedroom at OKW--no luck. We're at SSR. I am expecting crowds since MK will be open on Sunday until 2 am with EMH.

Called MS yesterday looking for 3 nights in a 1 BR near the end of February. Booked solid for the ENTIRE MONTH OF FEBRUARY.

He had 1 night in a studio, a Fri & Sat in a 2 BR, but nothing even remotely close to the dates I wanted.

Near the end of the call he says, "would you consider staying in April? We have some availabilty in a studio in April."

No, you need a room key. They specifically scan it to be sure it's valid.

We decided to make a last minute trip to WDW at MLK weekend a couple of years ago. Everything was booked solid. So we called the Swan/Dolphin directly and they had rooms at the teacher discount. Go figure that one... We were very happy and it was a great weekend!
