Welcome to the second week in June! We’ve already got some great color changes to celebrate. PollyannaMom, sophy1996, and Twilight Sparkle have all hit the big Red milestone! ClappyClaps, ShannyMcB, and I are now all Orange!

All together the team has made it to RED ~ with 16%! (1296/8325)

Speaking of Red – June is the Strawberry Moon and the month when strawberries are in season for a lot of the US. While WDW celebrates strawberries earlier in the year, you can get The Liberty Tree Tavern’s famous strawberry salad dressing all year long. While there are a lot of dupes on the internet, years ago if you asked they would give you the recipe printed on “strawberry” colored paper. It’s become a family favorite for us!

(note: strawberry vinegar is hard to find around here so I make this with balsamic or white vinegar. it tastes just as good!)

Quite a busy week here! I had two days in NYC! Both for fun - amazing! They really helped my minutes! Adding in short burst on the other days, I can claim 120 minutes!

My fitbit died last week and I got a new one on Sunday. It is a newer model that I need to get used to but I am liking it so far.

So the con was a huge decrease in activity for me. Not enough walking. Too much standing or sitting. I'll count 45 minutes each day, so 180 for that and 125 minutes with the horses yesterday.

Spending the next couple of days travelling so activity is likely going to be limited, but hopefully going to make up for it when I get on my cruise. Get some steps in walking around the ship and in Norway

Guess whose birthday it is? Here's a hint:




That's right! The Disney Monorail debuted today in 1959. Going less than a mile (.8) around Tomorrowland. Did you know the Monorail was once used to "kidnap" President Nixon? The story the castmember told me was that Nixon was so impressed with the Monorail he asked to go on more than one loop. Then he got caught up talking with Walt about how similar technology could be used in US cities. Apparently, the Secret Service was not prepared for this change in plans, and tried to jump on the monorail, but couldn't make it. They waited angrily at the station for Nixon to complete his many loops.



(I have no idea if this story is true, but I trust the castmember, and it's repeated all over the internet.)

It's also Flag day! Every day Disney selects a Veteran to help take down the flag. The ceremony can be deeply moving in person.

BonnieF moved to red, Piglet1979, PollyannaMom, sophy1996, and Twilight Sparkle are now orange, while
ClappyClaps and I are yellow.

Overall the team is now Citrus Swirl Orange! Keep up the great work everyone!
