Thank you for this info! We are planning our first Disney Trip in April and have Memory Maker. So just to clarify, my husband and kids are all on my account and therefore they can get pictures done on rides/without me. And my sister and her family are linked to my account so I can see all of their reservations etc so they can "share" my memory maker and I can download any pics they have taken for them? Even if we're not together? There's nothing else I need to do besides have us all linked (visible when I check friends and family on MDE)?
It's best to think of it separate. Pictures aka photopass is 1 part of disney. On you account or linked to your account and your good to go and you understand that part. So any magicband, ticket, etc by anyone in your collection of family and friends and you'll get their photo and they will get yours.
Now memory maker is buying a digital copy of all the photos no matter how many you took while at disney. That is specific to the mde account that purchased it. You can give them a copy of the photos or let them use your account (security experts would say don't do this for good reason) to get the photos. The big one to watch out for is you can edit the photos, if the linked mde account(s) edit it, you cannot download that edited version. you can only download the edited versions make while logged into your mde account.
