Everyone we need to ride Astro Orbiters!

It's on my must do list this year. It's one of the only attractions I've never done at WDW. I've hit a couple of times during refurb, but this year I think we are set.

I have done this ride twice. The first time was January of 2014. My husband really wanted to ride it, nevermind that it was freezing outside and raining. I went on it with him but was so terribly cold that I was slumped in my seat and refused to raise the rocket at all. This was a mistake as it made it feel like I was going to fall out at any second. The second time was this past April. I was having terrible allergies that day but I agreed to give it another try since the weather was beautiful. I now know to never do this while suffering from allergies. My equilibrium was shot or something because as soon as we started spinning, I started feeling horribly. I raised myself up just enough so that I felt like I wasn't going to fall out, closed my eyes and leaned back as much as possible. I got off and the world was spinning too much for my liking. I'm going to give it a third try at some point but if I'm not dazzled, it's out.

Does it have seat belts or any restraints? We have talked about sucking it up and riding it this trip...but I'm still scared! :faint: It's more the feeling like you are falling out that I think will bother me than the spinning...maybe

We like to ride it at night, typically during the Halloween or Christmas parties as lines can be non-existent for this.

Does anyone else sometimes feel like they are going to fall out of the ship on this ride though? Maybe that is just me. Still love it though.

Yes!! We rode it years ago and really thought we were going to fall out--and we are not tall people!! The views were awesome but I was freaked out enough by the "falling out" sensation that I'm not sure I can bring myself to ride it again! I am not an adventurous rider though, so for others, I'm sure it's fine.

Is it fair to say it's Dumbo up high? Or is there something different about it?

Instead of sitting side by side like you do on Dumbo, you sit one behind another like on Space Mountain. This can be a tougher squeeze for some guests.

It seems not that many people have had the chance to get on board this from other threads!

Break the trend and let's ride this ride this year!
Nope. Ridden it before, don't feel like it's anything I "need" to do again. And I'm not really sure why you're campaigning for the attraction. The line is consistently long, it's not like it's a forgotten ride by any stretch.

I get motion sickness- I think spinning that high will do me in. I prefer to keep my lunch inside, thanks!

We rode it last week because the line was short -
Great view at night, but it spun a little faster than I remember. I get motion sickness fairly easy and I was happy when it was over!

I definitely plan to ride is in this summer. It was down the last two visits. I love it.

I enjoy it, but it's not a ride I'd wait in line for; I only ride at night (because everything is more fun at night!) and if the line is short. It's definitely not an essential part of my trip.
