Okay everyone enough is enough. There are way too many personal attacks on here. The main problem is correcting others gramatical errors. I know that everyone on here get tired of seeing words typed wrong. With different spellings than what they really are. But we are not English teachers so let them fix their own mistakes. The boards were getting better and now they are bad again. Let's make the new posters feel welcome not just critique them. And remember treat others how you want to be treated.

I'm just annoyed, when someone purposly mis-spells something, when it would only take them like, a second to spell it right. If it's a simple mis-spelling of a hard word, or using the wrong "there, their...to, too...ect, then I'm fine.

I agree. Take the time to spell things correctly. If you say 'its the way I talk on the internet then you need to realize you look stupid.

Sorry I just had to stick my adult nose in because the rest of the boards have some many misspellings it really doesn't matter as long as you can figure out most of the meaning of the post...

The only reason it bugs me, is becuase I plan on being an english teacher and I pick on everyone for it. I even yell at the television when people speak incorrectly.

What my friends Tara and Kimball are saying is that our posts should be respectful and kind, not criticizing posters (especially NEW posters) for their spelling.

I, too, get frustrated and annoyed when trying to decipher posts filled with misspellings and "netspeak". I tend to give up and just skip over them. I understand the temptation to correct these posts.

But don't do it.

And make any advice you have for these posters helpful and positive, rather than critical and negative. Set a good example.

Please help keep this a fun and happy place.

I do agree but what if you made a typo you probaly wouldnt now right? I think I have caught maybe onnce or twice misspell a word plus lots of words people dont now how to spell

Don't know how to spell the word= Righting things like this makes it much esier for people to read, althogh the speeling is rong, I can stil understand it wel.

See, there is a difference. I don't care if you can't spell right. I do care however, if you alternate caps and such like that. It's just annoying.

okay, first of all, i think we have WAY too many threads about how "everyone's arguing." and, it really annoys me when they're people who can't even spell WHO. come on? i'm not saying to Make sure you have your puncuations and capital letters, but just try to spell the easy words right...GOSH. Example being: WHO, NOW, and it also annoys me when people use the wrong kind of THEIR or THERE or whatever the case is. Just make sure, your post is readable (which most aren't) because it makes our lives a whole lot easier.

This may be hard for some of you to believe, but they can type that way if they want to. There isn't a rule that says you can't type a certain way. I know, it gets annoying, but if they want to type that way, so be it. You just have to ignore it or try to decipher it. (Which I recommend the former )

if people followed the DIS guidelines and didnt post things that arent DIS appropriate then me and the other moderators wouldnt have to post the everyone read threads.
