Im so glad im going to my first trip to disney. you know what everyone says that first experiences last a life time of memories so i want it to be a time to remember. ok im going with a family of 8 (grand gathering :banana:yes!! any tips on that) to disney world for 21 days in july 2007.(with dining plan i hope that works out cuz i want to be a annual passholder) if anyone can be kind can they tell me what to do like ways to first day magic, avoid crowds :crowded: , disney shows, beat the heat, tips, 4th of july help, what dining locations on what day, how to not hit The Wall(besides sleeping each day maybe like a sit at a res. would that work?) what days to go to each park(downtown disney too) my parents birthday is july 1:something cool maybe can be planned for them, and some extra magical experiences.(by the way i want to be picked from the airport with a limo(what company to choose) and i will be taken to the airport with disney express.) :confused3
anything helps cuz i want to know from the pros of disney world

only 281 days left :woohoo:

My #1 tip is to always plan a mid-day break. Children and adults alike will get drained after a few days touring non-stop, so make sure to plan some down time each afternoon (nap, swim, etc.). Summertime can get excessively hot in FL, so that afternoon break comes in extra handy at that time of year.

Enjoy your trip!!

You sound like you are on the right track. Just read all you can and keep up on the internet. You will have a blast. Make your dining reservations as soon as you can. I am sooooo jealous. I would love to stay for 21 days. WOW! My dh and i go every year but I can only talk him into 12 days. Enjoy!

Planning information: www.disneyworldlinks.com is a great launching point - lots of links to good WDW sites. You'll find www.allearsnet.com very useful too. www.mousesavers.com is the place to go for legitimate discounts.

There is a website that lists upcoming television programming about Disney World. The travel channel has some great shows. Here's the link: http://www.bartlett-sloan.net/tv/agenda.php3?modeagenda=soon

Read about live entertainment at http://pages.prodigy.net/stevesoares/

Since you are going in the summer, I strongly recommend a good touring plan. We've gone with & without touring plans so I can attest to the fact that a good plan will save you a lot of time waiting in lines. I will never go to WDW without a plan again. Birnbaum has good general information about rides etc but the touring suggestions are simply not adequate for the busy season. The DK book has beautiful pictures but horrible, horrible advice.
The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World is a thick book and is good. www.tourguidemike.com is an online subscription service that will help you put together a good touring plan. www.buildabettermousetrip.com does great custom touring plans and will do your dining reservations.

Remember that dining reservations can now be made 180 days in advance of your arrival day.

Finally, come to this forum often - it is full of really nice, really helpful people.

hi
think about a fireworks cruise for the special occasion birthday, you go out on a private little boat to watch fireworks on the lake, can order food and other bits, reservations will tell you more, we did it and it was great x

were there just a little before you from 21st may for nearky three weeks ,x

holy smoke, that trip sounds pretty fantastic already.
I think i am too blinded with jealousy to think of any tips.
Disney dining too for 21 days? are you kdding me?
ouch.
only thing i was gonna say is try to not to plan everything together,
but i guess with 21 days, you will have plenty of time to yourselves.
really? 21 days?

I agree with the mid-day break. You can sit by the pool & swim or read a book but just relax.

I prefer to go to the park that is open early on that specfic day but that is me.

Don't forget to bring a water bottle or two.

We were there July 5-13 and I planned my trip using TourGuideMike. I must say that it was a tremendous help with planning EVERYTHING! That would be my best recommendation.

We had a great time and most of the time we walked right onto the rides/attractions. The only lines we stood in were about 5-10 minutes wait. The longest line was for Maestrom because we deviated from the touring tip and waited about 20 minutes.

If you do subscribe to TGM, be aware that there's tons of stuff to read!
