As in, when someone asks something of you and you tell them that you aren't able to do it. Then, they hate you! Ok, maybe they don't hate you. However, they sure "let you know" that they aren't happy with you for denying their request.

Well, better for them to be upset with you than for you to try to do something that stresses you out or takes time that you haven't got.

You got it. Some people seem to think that just because they can't say no, no one else should.

The school I took my kids out of last year has a stand at the local minor league baseball stadium this season. The school provides "volunteer" workers during each & every game. In return the school gets a % of the profits. Someone actually asked me if I wanted to man the stand during a few games. Didn't even let it drop right away when I said "no".
