Wait, your mom told her that she'll get made fun of if she gets a problem wrong? I don't understand...

I think she meant that her sister thought she was going to get made fun of if she got a problem wrong, and that's why they were having problems.

I don't pay attention to math books or math teachers when they try to teach me shortcuts and ways of doing things. I just find a way that works, and use that.

I think very differently than any teacher that I've ever had. I do things teh fastest and most efficient way. My way is also flexible and usually 99.9% accurate. but no. my teacher won't accept anything that isn't done 'her way' it doesn't matter that my way is more accurate and has like 7 less lines of work.

okay...
this everyday mathematics thing is getting me mad! My sister uses this book and they teach her different ways of doing things and when i try to help her, i show her the way i learned things and it's completely different. What gets me mad is she yells at me cuz she thinks her way is right and my way is wrong. what do you guys think about this issue...

usually my mom or/and dad got taught another way, but they never say its WRONG. If I don't understand something when I'm at home I just call somone. And you can say "We are both right, not everything has just one want to do it". Thats what I'd say.
