sure can. It's pretty easy to use. I would suggest cutting the font out then adhering it to the plate though, centering it was a pain and I have the centering feature on the Big E.

ok, what if i don't buy it can i use a die the i have that just looks like the plate and i can punch holes in the top to look like a license plate. will that do???

i'm not sure, but will check it out and get back to ya!

ok one more ?. i swear! (for tonight anyways!!!!)

i'm thinking about the laundry one. i want to make something that i have dreamed up in my head, but it's not one of the elements listed. so, a.) can i make that and another element and b.) do i have to tell what it is, 'cause i kinda wanted it to be a surprise??? whatcha thinking people in my laundry group??? and hostess too????

Ok, so to recap. I can do hidden journaling, but the hidden tag needs to be double matted and 3x3. Gotcha. The item doing the hiding can be considered the embellishment, right?

Borders should be 12 inches, but have the ability to lose an inch if needed. If we do the title instead it's 8 by 2, correct?

I've almost finished my recipes so I can start these

depends, are you in my head and stealing my idea? I'm doing a topper (kind of) and a tag (or 2, need to read da rulz)

what's your idea??? Spill it girlfriend! LOL

Yes, we can go with 12. Most of the cool paper comes 12x12 anyway. I'll go change the OP and be sure to highlight it on the progress thread.

Thanks! I appreciate you changing it. I just figure most people scrap 12x12 so it is easier to make them that length and just cut them down if you do 8 1/2x11.

Get back on the wagon and repeat after me! My BAN sisters will cut things for me that I don't have. I DON'T NEED this cart!

That sounds like a much better plan. That way, you don't have to spend any money and you can re-purpose which is much smarter!

I can't answer about the hidden tag although I would think that the hiding should count as an embellishment. The piece that you write on needs to be mounted on top of two layers. I'm sure AWM will clarify more.

Yes, borders should be 12" long. I usually move my embellies about 1" in from each end so that people can cut off 1/2" from each end if they need to.

Yes, the bottom mat on the title should be 8"x2". HTH!

I like surprises. And you all know I'm pretty open new ideas, so go for it!

Shauna answered the questions well. Thank you for clarifying. :thumbsup2

Here is a link to the journal box that is a good example. You can see there are two colored/patterned papers and then the actual to be written upon paper.

Here is a link to a good border example. The one you could off one end, the other a little on both ends.

rlovew & PN96. Both of them are very good about new ideas too. So go for it. :thumbsup2

Question about Disney Days of the week.

Since toppers are 8x2 I am thinking I will have to make borders for the title.

Royal Thursday will be pretty tiny on an 8x2 topper. I could make two toppers one with "Royal" and the other with "Thursday"

Anyone care to share their opinions or ideas?

Can the hostess confirm?

:thanks:

Yes, you can make the Royal & Thursday two separate items. You can make one 8x2 and the other 6x2 or whatever combination of sizes works for you. You can even make the Royal all fancy in individual shadowed letters and the Thursday on the matted topper.

For the character swap, I had planned on making a license plate for Mad Hatter, but the letters didn't fit. Didn't fit going straight across on a topper either. So I made it 3 x 6 to fit Mad over Hatter. It looks cool and I think it'll be okay to most people in that swap.

Honestly, I am totally flexible. I believe most of us are. We all want something that we can use, so as long as you are proud of what you make, go for it.
