Hi Guys :goodvibes

Haven't been on for a while as we didn't have any plans in the pipeline for a trip to WDW as we were due to exchange contracts on the house of our dreams next week, however on a visit to see the property yesterday we found it was partially flooded :scared1: and so it seems unlikely that we will proceed :sad2:

But as I say, everycloud has a silver lining and both mine and DH's thoughts quickly move on to booking another hol to WDW instead :cool1::rotfl2: Well, you have to get your priorities right :lmao:

So a couple of questions if you'd be so kind...

We are considering Easter or May next year. I am a bit worried about going at Easter as I think it has been mentioned on here that it is the busiest time of year?? That really doesn't float my boat as our past two visits have been in Jan and then Feb and it was lovely and quiet. So that took me to May, we could incorporate the week the girls have off school and then take them out of school for the extra week or so (they are only 5 & 3 so we are happy to do this at this stage)....

Any thoughts on comparing April and May?

Now to the flights - DH is determined that we will fly UC with Virgin again. Much as I loved the whole UC experience I have a HUGE problem with the money involved, so I am trying to convince him that PE will do fine. We do have the money to fly UC but at over £6k for the four of us compared to around £3k for PE I just can't justify it in my own mind :confused3

So I have a question, if we book PE and get to the airport on the day of the flight, is there ever the possiblity of a cheap upgrade if there were to be 4 free seats?? I know there are a few if's in there but just wondered if it ever happens?? Is there anyway I could monitor the number of free seats in the cabin so we would have an idea if an upgrade was a possibility??

So sorry for all the questions, I'm just so excited to be thinking of another trip...... Off to talk to the estate agents tomorrow re the house but now we are thinking of WDW I'm not sure if I want it to work out or not :rotfl:

Hope everyone is keeping well :goodvibes

Hi Ali,

We went at Easter this year and for 3 or 4 days it was extremely busy and then the crowds weren't as bad.
To be honest didn't really impact us too much as we get a Guest Assistance Card for Joshua's disabilities, but if choosing between Easter and May I would go for the latter if you can go for 2 weeks at least.

Easter will be buiser than Easter. This Easter there were lots of closings due capicity on the week before Easter.

On the flights is very unlikely you will get cheap ungrade on the day and even less likely that there would be 4 free seats left (only 14 on the whole flight!).

PE is great and TBH we couldn't justify the cost of UC. PE upstairs is great you 2 sets of 2 across and 2 cabin crew to around 40 passengers. You will be very well looked after :goodvibes

When we went at Easter, it was VERY busy, I would suggest May out of the two!!

When u have travelled UC, u always want UC but as you say £3k is a lot of money and will probs be all your park tickets and spend....so its whether u can justify that! Personally....Id go UC :lmao: but I havent got 2 children so its only ever 2 of us....i may think differently when I have them!!

Im sure Obi wan kenobi or wayneg will advise you better on the keeping an eye on the flight situation, im not sure, theyre always very good with their flight advice...:thumbsup2

We went at Easter this year and for 3 or 4 days it was extremely busy and then the crowds weren't as bad.

We were there at Easter too and found the same thing. We avoid the main parks over the Easter weekend and find it manageable. Having said that we are going to be there for the first two weeks in May next year. Expecting it to be much quieter than Easter, but also anticipating lots of school groups at the main parks while we are there.

www.seatcounter.com tells you how many seats remain in each flight class, so can give you a view of how busy the plane will be

Hi Guys and thanks for your replies.

We are still unsure as to what is going to happen with the house purchase so I am still dreaming of a holiday to WDW!!!

DH now says he is determined that even if we do go ahead with the house that we will somehow still make it to WDW next year but I guess we will have to book last minute when we can see how our finances are....

Anyhow, we're off to Spain on Sunday for a fortnight and TBH both DH and I are feeling the need for a relaxing fortnight so it's a good job we didn't book to go to WDW :lmao:

Thanks again,

Ali :goodvibes

sorry to hear the bad news about the house  I really don't know why they let buildings go up on flood plains ,what's wrong with surveyors architects and builders these days?!! I swear they just get greedier all they see is £££££.

Now ...how about going on holiday in May the year after, if you can wait that long it, will give you more time to save up. In the mean time how about booking a few days at DLRP ? I know it doesn't compare but it will give you a Disney fix until you can afford to spend some quality time at WDW and give you a chance to get your budget worked out a little better. Just an idea:)
