Question from a fellow Uber driver in Cincy. Will be at Ft. Wilderness in May. We will not have a car as we will be driving our motorhome.....so we wouldn't want to break camp just to get to Target or Walmart. While I know we can Uber from the Ft. to these places, I'm wondering....where does Uber pick up at the Ft? (I couldn't find anything in the search I tried)

At the check-in building, known as the Outpost. You'll need to walk, take the shuttle bus, or drive your golf cart there. The pick up area is on the opposite side of the building from the drive-thru check-in.

No and never has been.
We got picked up at the contemporary last night. Got dropped off there too.
Guard never even asked why we were going to CR. We had an ADR but wouldn't have mattered if we didn't

We were hoping to use Uber when we come down in May/June. My mother will be using an ECV. Can the Uber XL accommodate this with 3 travelers? Will the driver help me load the ECV? Or do I have to do Mears instead. Thanks...

Should be OK if you get a travel-sized one. A full-sized ECV might not fit, and might be too heavy for you and the driver to lift together. Even the full-sized models that disassemble have parts that weigh over 60#.

My son is a large almost 6 year old and he is above the weight limit for the suggested carseats (25-60 lbs) in the family vehicles. Should we just get a regular vehicle? Do they ask how old he is? Or do the family cars have booster seats also?

No booster seats. Technically, you would be violating Florida law without one. If the driver was to ask his age and you answered truthfully, he could refuse to take you.

You can purchase and provide your own portable booster. One is the inflatable Bubble Bum, for $30 at many online retailers.

Several possibilities:

1. The guard will let the driver in (possibly asking to see the call on the driver's phone) to pick you up at your room
2. The guard will let the driver in, but tell him to wait at the front lobby or designated pickup area
3. The guard will ask the driver for your full name and/or room number, in which case the driver will have to call or text you for the info (unless you've proactively contacted the driver with that info)
4. The driver will be required to wait outside the gate, and you will have to walk to the front entrance to meet the ride

If you have a gate code, you can head it off by texting the code to the driver. After the driver is assigned to your call, there will be a link in the app to text or call the driver.

Yes. Uber can take you to any of the resorts, even if you don't have a reason to go there.

I read the 1st page on this thread & some other posts that said you had to have an ADR to get into a resort if you weren't a guest staying on property & that they would ask to scan your MB to prove it. But all I wanted was to go eat at Crew's Cup. This helps.

They don't care if you're coming in via a cab/Uber. It's those that are arriving in their own cars, parking for the day and then going to a park, that they are trying to discourage!

Yep, they love for guests to visit resorts. Might just tempt you to stay there sometime.
