I haven't really read up or heard much about Everest..but all i know is that i want to go on it, so i hope it's open for our trip! Can anyone tell me about it whose ridden it?? :sunny: thanks!

It is in "soft opening" now until April 7, when it will officailly open. Soft opening means it will be open much of the time but not all of the time.

If you do a search on this board for "everest" you will find many other threads on the topic with plenty of opinions from people who have been on it already.

Have fun!

It's a roller coaster. It's very smooth, but faster than usual at WDW. It goes about 50 mph tops, with an average speed of maybe 30 mph. It's very smooth, like RnRC, and no sharp turns. There is one big drop, it's 80ft, but its very quick, and not bad at all. It's over before you know it. You go forwards and backwards. The backwards part is in the dark, but it's not jerky or anything.

It's an awesome ride! And the yeti is amazing! It's so realistic!!

Have fun!!

I thought it was great, really fun. My only complaint was that I barely saw the yeti, it was such a brief moment. It wasn't open the whole time we were there so we only got to ride once, but I would definitely ride again, the theming in the line was incredible!

My whole family went last weekend and said it is an awesome ride! One word of warning. They all felt that when you go backwards, it actually felt like your are going upside down!

I rode 43 times in the first 2 days of the Sneak Peak in January. Disney at it's finest!!

I rode twice last Tuesday. Normally I'm kind of a ride wimp, but EE is brilliant in every aspect! It's thrilling but not crazy, interesting and educational, the Yeti is a wonder! Also, I have a bad back and had surgery on it last year, no problems! Nice & smooth! :thumbsup2

OK, here's the $64 question: Is there anyone who has ridden EE that has also been on Mummy at USF? Are they similar in intensity? In what ways are they different?

Rode on the 27th of FEb it was excellent. Going back in May will ride again.

thanks for all your feedback and you guys got me ready for it! *crossing my fingers its actually open for me* :rotfl:

DB's and I rode it we loved it . The ride rocks second only to RNR at WDW. :thumbsup2

Hi KSDave....I have ridden both The Mummy and Everest. Intensity, thats tough b/c they are definetly different rides...lets see here, they both start off going forward, then at some point come to a stop and then go backwards. Everest seemed to have a lot more Darkness. Seeing that the car is a full length car on Everest compared to the smaller size car on Mummy, I think you get whipped around a little bit more on Everest and there is also a decent drop near the end....(just a little tiny bit more intense in my opinion!) Hope this info helps out!! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the info. This will definitely be something to look forward to if I can ever convince my wife and kids to go to WDW again.

Rode that puppy 24 times like a dork during AP preview week. I've heard that everyone has had good luck with soft openings since the last week of Jan. It's best to get to the AK around 3/3:30 in order to ride it (if that's all ur interested in) as everyone will be leaving the park around that time. AK is a morning and lunch park to most people since it closes early. There were 2.5 hour waits for the ride while I was there during the morning thru early afternoon but I was able to walk on almost every single time when I showed up right around closing.

Have Fun!

Just got back today, and we rode EE many times.... it is GREAT !
It is soooo smooth, yet intense for sure ! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND trying to sit in the front seat !! You really get the full effect if you are there......
A great ride and worth the wait.
