Everest too scary?

Everest doesn't seem to "jerk" me around like Rockin Roller Coaster and even Space and Thunder Mountains do....I closed my eyes probably the first four times I rode the dinasaur ride... ...Same with Rockin Roller Coaster....and even Everest..maybe the first two times...My biggest fear before riding Everest...was going backwards....Once I mastered that...I opened my eyes..."a little bit at a time".....Now..I love it! My grandchildren loved the ride immediately.....agest 6,8, and 9....... :grouphug:

If you do go on Everest...just remember to close your eyes..if you feel the "fear" building up....Maybe open one up..(very slowly) at a time... :love:It doesn't go upside down like Rockin does...just backwards for 30 seconds...just take a deep breath...and close your eyes!

PS..I am 55 years old.....

Like I said, I really can't remember. Just remember it was awlsome! I had my eyes closed most of the time it was going backwards too, so I can't really tell you what happened then.

I've seen the video of Everest. It doesn't go upside down. Period. There were also no shoulder restraints(to the best of my memory), just a pull down lap bar. I believe the biggest thing is just a long drop in the dark. Read Princess Aurora's trip reports too. She does a good job of describing it without giving anything away. No upside down, just a decent size drop, which I'm assuming happens in the dark. I am not a friend to big drops(I do love Splash Mt. though, but supposedly this one is bigger??), so will let DD16 and DH go on it first. Maybe. :)

You go backward but never upsidedown on EE. Its very smooth and really only has one big drop. My DS(8) and DD(6) loved EE and went on it 3 times . Dinosaur on the other hand was a one time only and they both said they did not like it at all!!! too scary

I do not like big drops. I can take RnR since there were no big drops - just the beginning was a bit overwhelming.

Splash is just about the biggest drop I can take. I hate that losing your stomach feeling. I thought I have been reading that folks said this was just fast and the drops were sorta curved like BTM. So now I am confused. But I will try it once I am hoping.

It's got those pull down shoulder restraints. It's AWESOME. Just standing in line is entertaining. It won't shake you to death --- very, very smooth and fast. Very entertaining - never been on a coaster like it. Great story. TRY IT! You only live once. :cool1:

It doesn't have shoulder restraints (it has a lap bar) and it doesn't go upside down.

I'm glad I'm not the only one around here! Practically everyone loves Pirates of the Carribbean, but I was totally freaked out by it! The concept was cool, the pirate scenes themselves were awesome, but I hated the dark caverns, I hated being in the water in the dark, I hated the big ship with the firing cannons. I've never wanted to get off a ride so badly in my life.

in that case glad you missed Alien Encounter and don't try sounds dangerous :) , or rnr, or tot or maybe even peter pan? and definitly skip tom sawyer caves.

Guess I'm going nuts.....rode so many rides on our trip and I've gotten the features confused. I'm Sorry about the shoulder harness thing I reported earlier.. I could've SWORN it had it. Regardless, it is really great and I hope you will try riding it. Very unique. That much I am SURE about! :thumbsup2

My BF is the original DISer.

We just got back on March 9th and we had the best time. We were there twice before and I refused to get on anything. This time we did the three mountains at MK (I had been on SM last time) and I even did RNR this time. I would say try and and then decide. I am not even really sure what I was afraid of. The only reason we did not do EE was because the line was too long and they were done with FP for the day. I was so scared before we got on the RNR that my DS12 put his arm around me and told me that it was going to be okay before we got on. It scared me but I would do it again. Just have fun with it.
