I just got back from an 8 day trip yesterday and never did get to ride Everest. First of all the Animal Kingdom is by far the most crowded park right now. The lines for Everest are 90 min. minimum from about 1 hour after opening and the fast passess run out completely by noon. Get there right at opening or earlier and if you can't, just wait in the 90+minute line or you'll never ride it. I refused to wait and was never able to get a fast pass so I'll save it for the next time.

I'm so sorry you never got to ride! It's definintely #1 on our list (along with 599,999 other people that day, I'm sure), so thank you for the tip. Hopefully you'll get back soon and get to ride when the crowds die down a little.

I am sorry you did not get to ride it either!
With that ride being so NEW and hyped up right now, there is no way that I would even try or expect to ride it any later than first thing after opening. But I am a park opener...so that is always my way of thinking.

Hope you get to ride it on your next trip. :thumbsup2

There were long lines in February when we went but we were still able to get on. I found that if they are operating the single rider line that is your best bet!! But yes definately get there 1st thing or else you are not riding it!!

We were able to ride EE with no problems on Wed. of last week. We were at AK about 20 minutes before the park opened. At rope drop, we took the route thru Asia and were on the 2nd EE train. The people who went to EE thru Dinoland got to the ride about 30 seconds after us.

If, as you said, the FPs run out by noontime, we should be able to ride it as long as we pick up a FP early in the day. Does this seem right? Because we are going in 2 1/2 weeks.

can you pick up a fastpass early in the day to use later in the day. My guys are golfing early morning. Won't get there until 2 or so. can we use the fast passes regardless of the times on them????

Nope, when the attraction is busy like EE is, they enforce the times shown on the fastpass. (If they didn't, the system wouldn't work!)

Wondering if anyone has gotten into the singles line without a FP, how long did you wait? My DM won't ride, but i am dying to go on it. DM and I were planning to get FP for the safari ride, look around the rest of the park, then go back and use our FP. Then I saw a special about EE on the discovery channel last night and MUST ride it.

Hope the HYPE dies down by December when we are there to ride it for the first time. :goodvibes

Thanks, I was wondering this exact same thing. DH is golfing EVERY morning. I just realized-I guess I'll be experiencing EE w/o him, then.

You can't get a FP for him until he gets in the poark. The machines won't except a ticket that is not activated at the enterance. By the way I waited for 2 hours during AP previews and it was worth the wait, for the first time riding it. Besides walking through the queue is very interesting due to all the theming in it. I would want to spend at least 20 minutes just to enjoy the line when I go back. At the same point I love the ride and plan on going on at least twice when I am there the 1st weekend in May. I wouldn't mind waiting a good 1/2 hour for this ride even if I had ridden it earlier in the day.

We plan on getting there right at opening. I hope we will be able to get right on !

Just be at the park at opening time, go straight to EE to grab your FP's, then go enjoy an uncrowded Dinoland while you are waiting for your FP time. That was our experience a couple weeks ago. EE is great, but I dont' think ANY attraction is worth waiting 90 minutes for(or even 45), when a little planning will let you ride with little to no wait.

For instance, if you get there at 9:30am the fast pass timesare for 2-3pm and by noonish they are at closing time. Since we never spend a whole day at any park, we didn't want to wait 5+ hours for a fast pass time to roll around. Getting there at park opening is the only sure thing.

IMHO: Get there before the park opens and run when the rope drops! :moped: We waited almost 2 hours at the DVC member event after flying down from NY for the weekend just to experience EE in January. (2 hours in line at AK beats shoveling snow any day!) :rotfl2: EE was kewl but now that I've done it a few times - 30 minutes is the most I'll wait. Awesome views of EPCOT and MGM from the top.
Have a Magical Trip!

I booked and early early breakfast at Donald Restaurantosaurus just to make sure we'll be in the park before it opens. Then we can hop right over and grab a fast pass for later. :thumbsup2

Did you notice any spillover effect onto the Asia Rides or the Dinoland Rides?

A friend of mine did. If so, I think we're going to have to radically alter our family touring plan. Get those in quicker.

We got there at opening. Got fastpasses and got right on so those that wanted got 2 rides in a row...
