Hi all...we are going to Disney in about 2 weeks and I saw that some of you have ridden Everest. I am hoping we will be able to ride during the sneak peak time. Can anyone give me any info on these? Are they only during certain months, hours, days?

Also what kind of restraints to the seats have??

Any info would be greatly apprecaited!!

I can't answer about the sneak peeks, but it seems like a lot of people have been getting on. I was fortunate enough to ride during the AP sneak peek, and it is an awesome ride...Disney's best coaster IMHO.

As far as the type of restraint, each car has two lap bars. There's no inversions on the ride, so a shoulder harness isn't necessary.

Hope you get to ride!!

There is supposed to be a huge press release tomorrow in times square. People climbing a simulated mountain... Best bet... someone will give you a definite answer tomorrow....

Most likely they will announce the official opening date... For a long time the Date was Spring 2006 and even April.... but what is the point of having an attraction that is capable of running fulltime sitting for 2 more months

Thank you for the info. I really hope we are able to ride. I am very excited about it...looks like it is going to be a lot of fun. We are going with our 2 year old so we will have to parent swap but it will be worth it.

We just got back today after being there for a couple of days. EE was not opened Monday or Tuesday(actually didn't go personally on Tuesday but all the CMs we spoke with said it would be shut down) Maybe opening Wednesday. But with that being said riding the monorail it tells you EE is open (ok not exactly in those words) more like go to AK and try EE, part of Disney's 50 yrs of magic. Top 7 now has EE listed as its number 1 must do.

We figured EE was not open Monday and Tuesday (today) because of the weather. There was actually ice on my car this morning. Sorry South Floridians here and we aren't used to that.

Last week EE was open on Thursday and Sunday. On Thursday it looked like there was some sort of problem because they shut the ride down by noon. On Sunday, it was supposed to be open from park opening until 2 p.m. They'll let you know at the gate whether or not it will be open that day.

Just got the email for the Sneak Peek bc we're staying in a hotel. Anyone done that yet and if so what specifically did you do to get to ride EE?

Hi there! I was there last week, and I got a sneak peak of the ride. It was amazing! So definitely try and ride it!

CM's have said that the ride will be open for previews for the entire time until it opens. When we got to AK that day to ride it, it was down in the morning. So you aren't guaranteed that it'll be open. And you can also get fastpasses, which I recommend because the line is usually over the bridge there. But if the ride shuts down, your fastpass gets thown away, you don't get to keep it and use it the next day.

The restaints are like Big Thunder Mt, a simple lab bar. But the lap bar doesn't go all the way across the train, like in BTMR. It's an individual restraint, more like RnRC, just without the over the head restraint.

I'm here now and it wasn't open yesterday or today. :sad2: I got the same email...

You don't have to do anything to get on the ride. If it's open and you're in the park, you're free to ride. They are doing soft openings until the grand opening. It's open to any park guest not just guests staying in WDW.

Hello!

I just got back from WDW, and we got to ride EE twice! The wait was only about 10 minutes, so we went straight back on. This was on Wednesday the 8th.

We checked the update board at the entrance of the park, and the CM told us it was open and ready to ride! She did say that the official opening was in April, but that we were able to ride it that day.

Good luck, and I hope you get to ride it, it's amazing!!!! :thumbsup2

We rode 6 times MOnday FEb. 6th and 4 times Thurs Feb. 9th first thing in the am, my DS went double the times b/c of baby swap. We headed over first thing and had absolutely no wait- it was like no one knew about it even though Thursday at the gate- they announced it was open ALL DAY, but it did break down. The CMs said it wouldn't be open Friday Feb. 10th, I heard from another couple it was open Wed. Feb. 8th during the EMH and no one was around...so best guess, you have to get lucky. We stayed at AKL and even they didn't know about the "soft" openings.

Just go to AK and ask the CMs when you get there...there were also CMs outside the ride that answered alot of questions, such as, on Thursday they said they had planned on being open all day, but ran into some mechanical problems- people even had to "walk" down the mountain from the ride- so I'm told...I bet this is why they do the "soft" openings to fix these things. Even we noticed a difference to the Yeti between Monday and Thursday, Monday he was strobed lighted at the end and Thursday, he was just lit up at the end so you could see him swatting better...

Good luck

Open the 5th and the 7th of the week that we were there....maybe more.
Great ride.
