Does anyone know who long the "preview" will last? Will AP holders be able to ride it anytime up to the opening day?

There is always a fair chance that the ride stays open through its official grand opening in April. Other rides like Mission:Space started their soft openings months before the official opening.

However, it will likely be hit and miss until then. That's when they gauge reviews, tweak effects, etc. so it can be down for days between tweaks and only be open for parts of the day and the like.

So, yes, it's possible though it won't matter if you are an AP, DVC or not after January 29th as all park guests will be in the same boat at that point. If it does open, often without any advance notice, consider yourself lucky to be at the right place at the right time and enjoy it!
