Going to Disney for Christmas this year :Pinkbounc DD and I are doing a girls trip. Problem, she's a coaster fan and I'm not. I do Big Thunder Mountain and Splash Moutain but that's about it for me. She's a big Aerosmith Coaster fan.

Question: I know she can do the singles line - and she will for the RNR LOL - but I don't want to chicken out of the Everest Coaster if its as tame as, say, BTM.

Advice? :wave2:

EE is not any worse than Big Thunder IMHO. I loved it. And its alot smoother than BTMRR. You don't go upside down at any point and there aren't any huge drops either. Don't let the big first hill intemidate you, you go up along way, but not straight back down or anything drastic. I think it you like BTMRR you would be fine on EE.

No, it's much more intense! Similar theming to BTMRR, but imagine higher, faster, more intense! It's an excellent coaster, not too crazy at all. No inversions.

I think You could definitely ride it once. Threeboysmom and I went and got her sister to go on it too.

Threeboysmom rode it 3 times with me and she is not a huge coaster fan. Her sister only rode it once. We could not get her on it again.

They both agreed that the big deal was the section it went backwards. If you can deal with that, I think it is not much more intense than BTM.

I say go for it, you will be glad you did! :)

Added:
I do agree with the last poster, that it is faster, and drops are higher, but the turns are not as tight.

Try it at least once as the view from the top is pretty cool! :thumbsup2 I screamed like a little girl when we went backwards but I still thought it was a great ride! And it IS more intense than BTMR as with BTMR you can see where you are going, but with EE you cannot.

I agree that it is much more intense than BTMR. It is an excellent coaster and the Yeti is awesome!

One very clever thing about EE, when you expect a drop, there is no drop. When you least expect a drop, WHEEEEEE there you go!
I really like that feature, because for me, the anticipation kills me! I hate that last drop on Splash for that reason, the anticipation is much worst than the actual drop. :sunny:

And yes, the Yeti is magnificent! Worth riding just to see him/her!

Um, I didn't see a singles line for RNR when I was there last week. EE yes, but not RNR.

I agree! I just went on it Wednesday and I can ride BTMRR all day but EE made me sick (RnRC doesn't even make me sick). The going backwards part (which was cool) did me in. At that point, I was wishing the ride would hurry up and be over. LOL Otherwise, I thought it was fabulous. My dh loved it. I doubt I will do it again though unless I try it with some Dramamine first. I really felt ill afterwards. If I knew I wouldn't get sick, I'd ride it over and over though. :)

What I noticed most about EE is that it is FAST! I am not a big roller coaster fan, but I rode EE this summer. It is smoother than Big Thunder, but way faster and has a much higher drop.

EE is awesome! It is not as fast as RnRC and it is much smoother than BTM and SM.

You don't invert, there are no huge drops (I was a bit disappointed by that because I love love love roller coasters!) and there are no sharp turns like on BTM or SM. I think the biggest surprise is going backwards. Going backwards is actually kind of cool.

The Yeti is so detailed that it is worth the ride.

I agree with the previous poster, try it once. It is an amazing ride, especially the Yeti! I also didn't think it was very rough, but it was more exciting the BTMR.

I'm a coaster weenie and I LIKED EE. BTMRR is my favorite, HATE Splash though. EE is quite cool, very smooth and you hardly notice the drop. Give it a try!

Are any of the drops backwards? or does it just travel backwards? That is my only concern, otherwise it sounds as though I will love it.

It goes backwards--and fast. Not a drop, but a "corkscrew" type motion just before it stops to go forward again.
I had thought the backwards part would just be a slow drift--on the order of the ride in Norway. NOT SO!!
The whole backwards thing left me with a deep headache for several hours afterwards. So I'll never ride it again.
I did like all the other aspects ofthe ride tho---

The backwards portion is fast but not a major drop - you'll feel g's (stomach in the throat feeling) when the backwards portion actually goes up around a fairly tight curve (though not really a corkscrew in the coaster sense of the word, which describes a lateral spiral that turns you upside down). Coupled with the fact that the backwards portion is pitch black and it can be very intense for some people. The easy cure for the feeling is to scream or laugh loudly when you start to feel the g's.
