has there been word that Expedition Everest will close earlier than the rest of the park to accommodate the need for a staging area to get people into the River of Lights amphitheater?

I was playing with FP+ selections last night for the 30th of May. The park is open until 11:00. The rides have availibility until 10:30. But Expedition Everest wraps up at 7:30 pm.

I had read that Disney was having trouble finding a place for 5,000 to wait in line and then have 5,000 exit the theater.

I just checked Tuesday May 31 for one person FP. Last Expedition Everest at 7:15. Kali and dinosaur much later.

It looks like the word is getting out on the Night time safari. The 'dark' hours are filling up fast at the 30 day mark. That could end up being a tough FP to get.

Yeah it's going to be interesting from what I've seen you can book a FP at night for everything but Everest.

I would think one of the major draws of staying late at DAK would be riding EE at night.

I wonder how Kali River Rapids stays open. Is there a new path to access that ride?

Kali just got some new lighting during its refurb so it should be open at night.

It looks about 2500 people can wait on Nemo side of the Amphitheater. Then 2500 on the Everest side. The first show should be easier. But the 2nd show (if they have one) will have 5000 exiting and 5000 waiting to enter. That could be messy.

It will be interesting to see how they manage this without ruining the feel of the incredible Asia land. I think it is one of the very best themed areas ever created.

There is supposed to be at least two shows and at least an hour or hour and half between shows to clear everyone out and get people in.

I've had the same experience w Everest. One of the key reasons we're excited about AK being open late is to ride Everest at night... can usually do it during Christmas week & it's fabulous! Certainly hope it'll be open!

Based on the the river and bridge that separates the amphitheater into two distinct halves and where the entrance to the seats on the Asia side. It doesn't look good for EE.

It's kind of like closing TSMM so they could have the Frozen Fireworks last summer.

I wonder if this will be permanent? Can they possibly change the entrance to Everest?

This is a case of bad planning on Disney's part.

Agree. For a park that only has a limited number of attractions, opening the park for additional hours by closing of of the stars just seems really short-sighted.

Maybe they just won't be doing FP for Everest at night to try and get people to go to the other nighttime activities instead. I can't see them not having Everest open at night.

Everest at night is awesome. We had the opportunity to ride it in February after dark one night when the park had an unusual 8 pm close. It was such a different- and better- experience. Very disappointing to have AK at night without it. Disney must find a way to have it open after dark.

Wonder if the noise from the tracks and the screams might be disruptive to the show.

Find a way. Find a way.

I have a FP for it May 27 7:25-8:25pm. KNS 8:25-9:25

I was seeing FP up to 7:30 for May 29 and 30, May 31 they stopped at 7:15.

What time does the first Night Time Show start? 9:00? If the last of the Everest riders were out of there by 8:30, they would be able to clear the area for the 9:00 rush.

Didn't you know that the Fairy Godmother casts a spell that silences all the noise coming from Everest during the shows?pixiedust::duck::duck::duck:
