Hope someone can help. I need to know the actual date that Everest is supposed to be opening. I have seen both April 1st and April 7th. We are planning to be in AK on the 1st (just as plans turn out) and was wondering if this was the actual "Grand Opening" for Everest. Anybody know?

And if so, it is going to be crazy crowded? Just looking for a heads up. Thanks!

There is a media event for the opening of EE on April 6 and 7.

Media events usually are the official opening of any attraction at WDW.

We'll be there 4/2-4/7, hopefully we'll be able to ride. Unfortunately we can't make the AP preview, :( DD has a manditory test then and DH has to work.

Ooh, it just burns my butt that we're going to miss riding this. Who knows when we'll be back to WDW. Poo.

my MiL is there now and rode it with her friend on a CM prieview! I can't wait to hear how it was. I'll post and let you know.

So is the media event on BOTH days? Or is it an either/or kind of thing? We were scheduled in AK on the 7th but moved our AK day to the 6th to AVOID the media day...

ANYONE KNOW?

I can tell you this and it is official: my wife received a "save the date" mailing about a week ago and it lists the event as April 6 and 7.

Details have not been released yet. Based on past history, we're expecting the official invitation with the full itinerary sometime in mid-February.

Thanks, Bob! I think we will try to avoid that park like the plague each of those days (but I fear EE will be the only thing our pack of boys will be interested in doing over and over and over again).
