Ever wanted to see SPACE MOUNTAIN with all the lights ON?

Pretty cool, and very interesting to see just how compact that ride really is! It feels like wide open space when you go on it the normal way.

My DD's and I were on the TTA last year when Space Mountain was being worked on. It was very strange going through there with all the lights on.

So were we at Christmas time. It was the coolest thing!!!!!

We saw that, too! My kids wouldn't ride Space Mountain until they saw it that time and realized it wasn't a huge coaster. I was so happy we got to see it lit up!

I had the same experience in WDW a wee while ago only it had the opposite effect, two of our party decided..."not a chance" :scared: and legged it off through the 'escape exit'! I loved it though - although it was really freaky, I had literally just said "I would love to see what it looked like in here with the lights on" when 5 mins later the ride broke down and hey presto all the lights came up! ha ha! Talk about tempting fate!!

Anyone ever broken down on a cool ride like POTC, Splash Mtn, Peter Pan, etc?

Had a friend who worked on Splash Mtn during college and the day he trained, it broke down. Guests weren't too happy to be walking down the stairs from the main drop.

We had the opportunity to ride Space with the lights on many years ago at a special cast member night. It is so much scarrier with the lights on -- you can see just how compact and smooshed the track is in there!

We also got to see Star Tours from the outside -- watching the simulator rooms do their thing. That was truly AMAZING!

I was on Pirates when it broke down once, but they didn't evacuate us. We just sat just before Davy Jones for about 15 minutes.

I was on Indiana Jones once when the vehicles stopped and the lights came up. I didn't have a video camera, and my pictures didn't come out. But I can tell you, it was amazing to see what Disney did to make it look the way it does. I loved it! And the boulder at the end of the ride blew my mind.

Maybe Disney should offer some "behind the scenes" ride tours. I think that would be great fun! I'd love to see Peter Pan.

I got to see the lights on at SM years ago before the refurb. it was such a strange sight and wow the supports seemed so much lower with the lights on

A friend and I were on HM just in the hallway right out of the stretching room when they took us all out the hallway exit upstairs when they ride broke down. It was interesting in a geeky way ;)

I agree - I went on SM during the cast member preview when it first opened - the lights were on, and it was MUCH scarier - you could see that the next overpass was going to chop your head off!

We were evac'd on pirates once, under the talking skull before the big drop, boat was loaded heavy up front and we never made it :) Small World broke on us this last trip, and we were the first boat in line that could not be easily evacuated so we had to wait, but they turned off the music and then issues re-admit passes to the ride of our choice, excluding Nemo.

We have seen the WDW version with it's lights on quite a few times while riding on the people mover (TTA).

We were on POTC back in 1975 and it broke down so we had to be evacuated out a "back" door. I don't remember much but I do remember that it looks better without all the lights on!

I hate it when rides break down, because it takes away some of the magic and it's kinda creepy (ever see the animals of Splash mountain sing with no music?), not to mention that sometimes it can be borderline traumatizing. I remember as a kid being stuck on Indy when it was new and breaking down a lot. I HATED roller coasters and happened to be sitting in front of the steering wheel and the car stopped right before we were supposed to drop down (back before they redid the ride and you had the "Look into the eyes of Mara...now you are doomed!" spiel), so it looked like we were suspended in midair since you couldn't see any track in front of you and I sure as heck wasn't going to look over the side (it took some major coaxing from my mom just to get me on the ride and I would ride it with my hands covering my eyes). It was the only time I've ever whiteknuckled a steering wheel.

Very cool video! I was surprised at how close some of the tracks are to each other.

It's strange, but I sometimes hope a ride will break down while I'm on it, just so I can see behind the scenes just a bit. :)

The only rides it's happened to me on, though, are Mr. Toad's Wild Ride and Big Thunder Mountain (20 feet from the exit). Neither was too exciting, unfortunately.
