Ever use black garden mulch?

We also used the black mulch last year and it still looks good for this year. A word of caution though, if you have it delivered and you have a concrete driveway. We had a torrential downpour 1/2 way through spreading our mulch last year and when we finished spreading it, there was a huge black stain on our new driveway!:scared1: It is still there, though faded. If you put a tarp down first, you won't have that problem.

Must be Zombie thread day! This is the second resurrected thread I've read today. The other was only 2 years old though.

But we always get truckloads of brown mulch. Ours compresses over a year and I like to put it out fresh. :goodvibes

ah...yes, old threads! One of the joys of the DisBoards!

We went with the black mulch at our previous home and really liked the look. The house we moved to 6 months ago has really old large wood chips. I can't wait to get the new weed cover down and have the black mulch placed.

OP here…4 years later! Went with black and like it!

Me too!!! Actually skipped getting mulch last year, for the first time. Plan on getting a load of black within the next month.

i don't like the way black mulch looks but the orange mulch :scared1: ...it looks like vomit. We get dark brown..... sometimes delivered but we have picked up loose loads too (not bagged). I find that working it with a hand rake makes it look fresh again, like when i am weeding or deadheading i give it a good stir.

[???QUOTE=Tinijocaro;24758709]I used it last year and I still love it. It was pretty dark at first, but I got used to it. Didn't fade much at all from last year to this year.[/QUOTE]

I heard that the black moth holds heat and is bad for your plants (in the south)?
