My DH kept saying all through our kitchen remodelling that I should make all of the decisions because I spend more time in there than anyone else in the family. BUT, when it came to selecting paint colors, he didn't like the whipped pumpkin that I selected for the walls. He kept insisting that we tone it down some. The painters knew how much I wanted the colors that I selected, so when they came to paint, they told him that they toned it down with some white. They winked at me and whispered that if they toned down the wall color, it wouldn't have matched the door and trim colors.
My DH has said over and over that he's really happy with the wall color and he's happy that they toned it down the way that they did.
So, did you ever pull the same 'trick?'

I told him that it was kind of brown and kind of beige. It's really pure brown. But now that it's in the living room, he knows it's brown and he likes it.
