Ever Tired of Disney?

I have gone, on the average, about every two years. I usually don't get tired of it except in 1997 when I went in March escorting some handicapped people and then again in April with my family. I was pretty Disney'd out but the end of that one. Didn't go again until 2001.

I tend to stay off site and do not spend my entire vacation at Disney. I wander around Florida and take day trips like to the Space Center or Sarasota and even a couple days to the "Keys". Then, of course, there is Universal, Sea World, Cypress Gardens, Silver Springs, Daytona and the Everglades. Or I just take back roads and see "actual" Florida, not just the tourist traps. I guess I generally just like Florida a lot, WDW being there is really just a happy coincedence. That's not true really. I discovered Florida because of WDW so I guess that came first. And I am still looking for that Fountain of Youth that was promised. Love the smell of the orange groves as well.

We've gone every two years since '96. That's just about right. That way we don't suffer burnout & there's always something new to look forward to. We plan to continue this schedule into the future, God willing. Plus, I usually spend the year prior to each trip planning. Isn't planning half the fun?

I can't imagine ever getting tired of Disney, although I guess anything is possible. We don't get to go as often as some people, and we don't get to go nearly as often as I'd like, so for me the thrill of going is still very high!

I agree with the posters that say the more they go, the more magical the trips become. That's how it is for us. Each time we go, we relax a little more and take the time to really enjoy ourselves. No more commando touring for us! Plus, we're starting to develop family traditions on our trips. We enjoy going back to our favorites and remembering our past visits there.

I've tried planning other vacations, thinking that maybe we're missing something. But the truth is, we just plain don't enjoy other vacations like we do our WDW trips. So, for now at least, we'll be going to WDW every chance we get.

I really wish I WOULD get tired of Disney - it would save our family a whole lot of money!!!! Plus, I'm so tired of having to explain myself & our vacation choice to family & friends. But I honestly don't think I will ever grow tired of Disney. Every time I go, I find I love WDW even more!! :)

What I don't understand is why people even ask "going there AGAIN?" (Especially the snooty ones who have never been there.)

Every visit is different. Every attraction has so much to absorb. Every show is first rate. The themed restaurants are so much fun. I go back with adults, teens, little nieces and nephews - the combinations are endless. It's just fun. That's all I ask of it, and Disney delivers.

When people ask "are you going there again!?!" you could give them the teamster's response from that old joke "what's it to ya?"

I love WDW and DLR. I can't imagine not visiting!

Of course we also go to Sante Fe, Taos, Portland OR, Yellowstone, Rapid City, Minot, Dayton, Indianapolis, Niagra Falls, Buffalo, Kansas City, Lake Powell, Depot Bay, Vancouver BC, Victoria BC, Seattle, Phoenix, Grand Canyon, Flagstaff, New Orleans, Gulf Port, Biloxi, Dallas, Volcano Nat'l Monument, Sand Dunes National Monuent, Warsaw Missouri, Dodge City, Witchita, Canal Fulton, East Harbor, Put-in-bay South Bass Island, Ogden, Salt Lake City, Great Salt Lake, Twin Falls, San Jose, Mesquite Nevada (yuck), Las Vegas, Shreveport, and a whole lot of places in between. Since 1991 we have put a total of 340,000 miles on our two Chrysler Vans. Our 4 kids know how to travel!

My son and I have been to the Bahamas.
My wife has been to England and Switzerland.
My wife and oldest daughter have been to France, and Turkey.

And yes, I like going to Disney EVERY chance I get. Whether it is Disneyland Resort in Annaheim, WDW, The Disney Store, or the latest Disney movie. If only they would build a DisneyQuest in Denver!

As my wife says, I'm a "Disney-Guy"
