Ever stayed at Luna Sea in Cocoa Beach?

I just booked our before and after-cruise rooms at the Luna Sea Motel in Cocoa Beach. It looks like a nice, small place by the beach and had a great rate of $79.

Has anyone every stayed there?

I have <b><i>not</i></b> stayed there, but I have viewed it from the street. The reason I don't include it on my lodging survey is because, in my opinion, they indulge in false advertising. They call themselves a "Bed & Breakfast Motel". Even though many motels offer breakfast, the term "Bed & Breakfast" gives most people the image of a charming country inn. There's nothing like that at this property. It's an old, ugly property with no curb appeal. And it's on the wrong side of A1A in a not-very-interesting neighborhood. Maybe if they removed the "Bed & Breakfast" from their name I wouldn't be so negative on this property, but I think they're being deliberately misleading.

I agree, the name is clever. Besides being funny, Luna is a reference to the moon, and Cocoa Beach serves the installation where the Apollo missions were launched.

We were in Cocoa Beach on the 17th and 18th of this month and while checking into the Quality Suites, overheard a young man discribing his family's brief stay at the Luna Sea. Said their signs say all new rooms, but, they were very dirty and he couldn't believe there had actually been any updating. Also said that although they had reservations (via the internet), the Luna Sea could not find them. One night was enough. They moved across the street to the Quality Suites for the rest of their stay. This is a new hotel and we were able to have a huge suite for $79.00 (plus tax). Picked up a Florida Traveler booklet and used a coupon from there.
