Ever overpaid for a child's birthday or holiday present? aka My daughter has a white Fur Real friend (a robot kitty) on her list this year.

This toy seems to be discontinued in this color, but sells on ebay now for up to $60! I think I will wait this one out and not overpay, maybe find it after Christmas. She put it on "my" list instead of Santa's.

One summer, I paid too much for Spice Girl dolls for their b-days and it was worth every penny in excitement and play factor.

This toy has the "sit on the shelf with the furby" factor.

I always spent too much for presents.

I've got rainchecks at all the toys r us in my area. Maybe you could get on a waiting list?
I do not know if I would pay $60.

I haven't yet.

I was worried about the Fur Real friends because I knew if I didn't find one at a store, she wouldn't be getting it, because I wouldn't pay over twice the value. Maybe a little extra, but not that much. Luckily my mother came through, though.

Yes!! Last Christmas DS wanted a Leap Pad (that was the only big thing he asked for) and I waited until Dec 24th to buy it because that was my pay day, and I didn't think that they would be sold out. Well I checked 4 Targets, 2 Walmarts and 2 Toys R Us stores and they were all sold out. I ended up buying one at about 3pm on Christmas Eve at a family owned "educational" toy store near my home. They charged me $35 more that they were selling for at Target, but I paid it. I didn't regret it because DS was so excited, but it still hurt to pay so much extra :(
