Ever lived in a haunted house?

Wow, how did he die? How old is he? Ever think about helping him?

He was hit by a car when he was about 7. I've tried helping him move on, but he seems to be very stuck here.. I think he really believes his parents are coming back for him. It's so, so sad . As I said, I've seen spirits my whole life and this is the only non malicious one that hasn't wanted to move on and go to wherever they go after death.

Yes. We live in a very haunted house. Wrote about all the incidents in the ghost hunters thread.

Lately we've been experiencing voices and footsteps. Last night someone peeked in our room as we were going to sleep. Startled both me and the wife enough as to make us get up to make sure the kids hadn't snuck out of their rooms. Nope, both were sound asleep. Took me about an hour to go to sleep after that.

When I was about 8 months preggy with my DS, my DD was in bed with me (she was 3) DH was at work and I woke up and my great grandmother was standing in my doorway to my bedroom. For a sec I was terrified, but I knew she was there protecting me as I was home alone ad expecting. It was not a blurry white figure, it was like she was standing there in person. It never happened again.

Our houses have been quiet but I do know a few people who have lived in odd places. I have seen some things that I can't explain but never at home. Well, except for one occurrence when I was still at home with my parents but that was not a haunted house either.

I don't know how I'd react if my home was haunted...

My sister's house is haunted. She moved in when her son was about two. He started talking about an old man who came into his bedroom. After his parents figured out no one was breaking in at night, they thought it was my grandfather's ghost checking up on them. Then one day my sister was telling a neighbor about it. The neighbor said that me nephew's bedroom had been the previous owner's home office. That poor man had committed suicide in that room before the house was sold. Now my nephew is six and he hasn't mentioned the man in about two years.

It's thought that there's a difference between a home or other building being "haunted" and people having spirits associated with them, like a loving grandmother watching over you, etc.

This is our definition of the differences between a ghost and a spirit.

A ghost is someone who has passed on and is "stuck" between the physical world and the Afterlife. They do not cross through The Light to go on to the Afterlife, but stick around in this "netherworld" for one reason or another.

A spirit is a person who has passed on, but has actually gone through The Light and into the Afterlife. There they go through a life review learning process, and after that, are able to come and go between the Afterlife and our physical world.

Spirits come back to watch over us, and to comfort us. Ghosts do not.

Love these stories, keep em coming. Wish I had some of my own to share but I've never seen a ghost. My understanding is that you can either see em, or you can't. And I can't, apparently. I do believe they're around.

Yep. The house I grew up in (Houston) was haunted, and also some acreage we just bought.

Really, I think every place is "haunted." Just dimensions slapped one on to the other. (Parallel lives, The Other Side, etc). I mean, WE could be ghosts to THEM.

I think it's just easier for some people to break through that veil, and it's all scientific. We really know so little....

I've always seen spirits, everywhere I've lived they seem to seek me out. We don't have any in this house anymore, but there are a couple that hang out in the court I live on. One's a kid, did some research and he died in the street about 15 years back. Sad, sad stuff.

This is my son. He is only 10 so he is scared but will now tell a spirit to please go away you are scaring me. I have tried to explain to him that he should talk to the spirit but he won't.

He will tell me which houses on my street are haunted because he has seen the ghosts.

Also, we have had to tell him NOT to talk to his friends about it because he would freak them out. Especially since one of his friends lost his mummy a few years back. My DS has told me she is still in the home. I told him of course she is I would not want to leave my little boys oh and DON'T tell the daddy or friend (he and our family have lost friendships in the past because of his "gift" oh and we had to stop attending a church because the were claiming this "gift" was evil)

I swear, some people are so closeminded. I don't get how people think a gift like this is evil. (I guess not understanding a thing makes it evil in their eyes? ) What do they think a spirit is in the first place? It's a person who has passed on/returned to another way of life.

Do you ever watch Psychic Kids? I believe it's on Bio channel on Saturday nights. If you haven't, you should tune in. There are lots of kids just like him who experience some of the same things he does.

Not a haunted house, just a few things: My grandfather died when I was 9. He died first in his house, but they revived him and a few days later, he died in the hospital. I was very close with my grandfather. I would stay with my grandmother after he passed and I always felt like he was there, not scary, just he was there. I could still smell old spice as if he were there putting it on.

I have had 2 spirit pets. 1st was one was my first dog. She had to be put down when she was 15. She would come down the hallway and lay down right at my door, even in death. We would hear her, but we thought it was missing her. 6 months later, my new boyfriend was over and he heard it and then I realized it wasn't just us missing her. We eventually got another pet and that stopped, but I think she was just keeping watch on us.

2nd pet that I am aware of, my GS I lost earlier this year. DD11 and I call her invisible dog. She is at night on my bed as before, my other GS will just lookup and stare with nothing there and he if gets on the bed, he gets off quickly even if we aren't in there and he will go flying through the house just as when Sasha was alive, didn't like him on the bed.

My DF: The last day he knew he would die-he had lung cancer. I told him to come check on DM,dd and myself but to not scare us. My dogs have looked at the air and wagged their tails. I will get in my car and I dont smoke no one smokes here except DF smoked so long he reaked of it after stopping. I will be in my driveway or garage and a wiff of cigarette smoke will be in the car. Except, he never rode in my car except once. My dd11 feels him around her at times.

One Father's day, my air conditioning and radio went out on my car. No explanation. I came home and had my neighbor check it out, both of them starting workng. My neighbor said" That was your dad" . If I feel really overwhelmed, he comes to me in my dreams mostly the same dream: Somehow there is a storm of some knd, hurricane tornado, and he helps me through it and says it will be ok, then the storm is over and he is gone. He can visit all he wants.

My cousin Committed suicide when he was 16 and a a few months later my mother and I started feeling him around us. Things in the house would turn on and off. You would feel like when you were trying to sleep as if he was in the room trying to get your attention. We both had an instance where we both had to tell him "Mike I know your there but I really need to sleep. Please let me help you so I can go to sleep." Right after I told him that he came to me in a dream (I never dreamt about him except this one time) as clear as if I was talking to someone in real life. He was hanging out with me and I turned to him and said "Mike how are you here? Your dead you know that right?" he then says "I know I just wanted to let you know I was ok!" I think he was ust trying to get to us so bad that he would bother us in ways that we couldnt understand the messege. After that dream he never tried to get my attention. a few years later I went to see a medium at a benefit show and she asked about him. She knew all the facts his name his age how he killed himself. (At the time of his death his mother had taken off with some man so he was living with our aunt which has caused pain for his mother ever since. She had tried to kill her self several time. ) So the medium tells me that my cousin is always watching over me and that I NEEDED to tell his mother that he loved her so much and happy mothers day from him (it was a week before mothers day) and ever since she got this mesg from him she has improved every part of her life.

I wanted to add another thing: A less then friendly encounter.
A few years ago, I worked at timeshare that had been renovated from apartment buildng for elderly. So you know from the get go that there have been deaths there.

Outside of one unit,was the smell of a cigar just being lit up, except no one was there, and it was a non smokng builidng.

The other unit well: I would go into this unit and my hair on my neck and arms would stand up. I felt a man staring at me and probably wondering why I was there. IT was like he was standing right there beside me staring at me. I hated going into that room.

One day, I was in there, had to be in there. And I was talking outloud into the air and saying I am sorry that other people were in there now and I knew he didn't like it, but if I could just come in and check around and make sure everything stayed nice. After that, I didnt feel so much glaring. I wasn't doing cartwheels, but what if he all he saw was his apartment the way it was and sees these people staying there? Yes, it was a crazy thing to do and I wasn't about to tell him to go to the light.
