Ever leave your car at the Radisson?

We decided on a 7 night for next year (haven't cruised until next month, but know we are going to enjoy it so much that we are just planning on a 7 day already :) ) We're driving down and spending the Friday night at either the Radisson, ROn Jon, or Holiday Inn Express. Has anyone stayed at any of these and Radisson will let you park there. Is it safe to leave the car there?

Based on info from these boards and the Passporter book (highly recommended), we stayed at the Radisson. Free parking (vs. $10/day at the port) with a free shuttle to the port. When you disembark, the shuttle picks you up. Very easy with no hassles.
Plus, they have a nice pool.

It looks nice (so does Ron Jon Resort-no free shuttle/pkg there though). I suppose it would be safe to leave the car there since we'll pretty much take everything with us. Heck the more $$$ I can save the better!!! Thanks!

We just got back from the 4 day Wonder. We stayed at the Radisson and used their parking. Getting the shuttle was a little hectic at the hotel, but went very quickly. They had 3 cruise ships loading that morning.

I didn't think our room price included the shuttle since we got a military rate, but they told me at check-in it was included in our room price. So I got a doubly good deal. We had no problems with the parking and the lot seemed well lit.(I checked it out the night before).

We plan on staying there next summer and using their parking for our 7 night cruise.

It was so easy. They have a special lot for cruise passengers, and they told me that *ALL* rates include that parking (they give you a hang tag at check-in for your car)

We pre-booked the 11 am shuttle before we arrived. They were running 2 separate shuttles that day, one to the wonder and one to a Carnival ship. When we arrived at the Port, we told the porter we needed the Radisson shuttle and he took us directly there ~ it was waiting for us and left almost immediately, no waiting for a full load.

The hotel itself is really just ok, but the shuttle service was very well done.

HTH

PS ~ We did eat at a fantastic place by the Radisson called Grills.

Cheers to the Rad during hurricane season last year. We were on the 3-day that was moved down to Ft Lauderdale, and we had driven down from MI (stayed at HH a few days first). We could not take OUR vehicle down to Ft Lauderdale, because the ship was scheduled to come BACK to PC. So, we ended up renting a car one-way (it was our first cruise and no way was I waiting on the Disney bus - had to get that Palo's ressie!) and driving down to Ft L.

But what to do with OUR Jeep? Well, I went in to the Rad, explained that I was NOT staying there, but asked if I could leave our Jeep there (and offered to pay), and they immediately got a hang tag, directions, and sent me on my way. I thanked them profusely and that was that! Left our vehicle there for the duration of the cruise and took their shuttle back when we got in.

Mucho gracias to them for that bit of kindness in what was surely a very bad time for them. :cheer2:

Yep, very easy just remember

Take anything that even looks like food out of your car. Ants are serious in FL. If your kids have been snacking in the I recommend finding a gas station with a vacuum.

Drive over in the morning and drop off the family and luggage, then Drive back, park and catch the shuttle. We were still in line when DH returned. Same thing on the return Have one person get the shuttle than come pick up everyone else, it was faster than waiting for room for a party of five with all our luggage.

I've read about the ants. It's that bad, huh?! We'll HAVE to vaccuum out the car because we'll be driving for 2 days down from VA and my kids will be 3 and 10. :earboy2: Yuck..I can just picture the ants everywhere..we would all freak out if they are in the car!

Great idea about dropping off family/luggage and then taking shuttle!!! I remember taking the parking shuttle @ Wash/Dulles with all our luggage and an 19 mo. Now I have 2 and even more luggage! Thanks so much for the tips. We are defintely going to stay there (unless it goes downhill between now and then, which I am sure it won't.) :flower:

Stayed at the Radisson for the May 20 Wonder cruise. Left the car with no problems whatsoever and the shuttle was GREAT!! The pool at the Radisson is something the kids love, and their breakfast buffet was a great way to start the day. We got the 10:00 shuttle and it was the perfect time!
