I know I sound greedy..don't mean to. We are very happy :goodvibes that we got the SPR. This December my best friend and I are leaving the kids and hubbies at home for a girls trip. Since it will only be the two of us and we are booked in a stateroom that sleeps 4 I wonder if this would increase our chances of an upgrade. Just daydreamin'! ;)

I actually have heard of someone in one of these rooms being upgraded, probably on this board. I recall the poster was actually upset, because they were upgraded to a category 9, and ended up being on deck 2 rather than deck 5.

In any case, I don't know that there is any set of circumstance which actually makes you more or less likely to get an upgrade (well, I guess if you're in a category 1, it pretty much rules it out, but you know what I mean...).

Anyone know if you can reject an upgrade? We're booked in adjoining SPRs and I'd be pretty upset if we were "upgraded" to a Cat 9. Now adjoining cat 6s is another story!

Oh my! :worried: I sure wouldn't want that! I guess I better be careful what I wish for. I wonder if you have to take the upgrade or if it's just offered to you....

what does SPR stand for? I'm sure once someone tells me I'm going to feel like an idiot, but I keep seeing it and I have no idea what it means in reference to rooms on the ship.

Thanks!

goofygal1975 was upgraded from a spr to a cat 5 (I think it was a cat 5!)

Heather???

though the mysteries of upgrades are of such Magical Wonder that mere mortals cannot know their true nature, my understanding is if you really want to stay where you are you should notify DCL if you booked directly, or TA if you used one, that you want to be in the specific stateroom that you are booked into. hence the oft-told advice to bookt he stateroom you will be happy with, and I agree a SPH 10 on 5 sounds better than a 9 on deck 2.

Hey, T.

I had a 7120 (a partially obstructed verandah room...a cat 7) I then got an email from my TA that I got an upgrade to a Cat 5, full verandah room!! :cool1: I had been paying a little each month towards my cruise, and when my TA went to post another payment, he saw I had the free uprgrade!

At first I was upset...it took a lot of research to find that room (one of only 4 on the ships), and I didn't want it changed. But the paperwork already gave me a new stateroom #. Then I realized it was a plexiglass verandah and all was well in my world again!! I was happy and able to enjoy the free upgrade!! :flower:
