:D Hi,
I would like to use hotelkingdom.com to book our hotel since I found a great rate, but I am a little hesitant since I've never used an independant company to book a hotel. Have you ever had a problem with them losing your ressie or wanting to charge you more once you got there? Thanks in advance for any info you can share :D .

We used them for our 12/03 trip and are looking forward to the next time we use them. There were no problems during check in or check out. Infact, the gentleman checking us in couldn't believe the rate we got - told us he had never seen better. We stayed at Amerisuites Calypso Cay and even got the upgrade b/c we signed up for their free club online.

I haven't booked thru Hotelkingdom.com but I've done ressies with both Travelocity and Expedia before.

The Travelocity ressie was for one night at a hotel near MCO. We had a late arrival and I have even called the hotel the day before to confirm my reservation. Because it was a special rate, I hade paid for it in full, in advance. When we got there, the hotel had given our room away. We had to go to another hotel, which the first hotel paid for. We got a room upgrade but it did cost us an extra hour of our time at an already late hour.

The Expedia ressie was also a special rate and had to be paid in advance and in full. Like I did with the Travelocity ressie, I called the day before to confirm with the hotel. This time, we arrived mid-afternoon and our room was ready. Imagine my surprise when the hotel tacked on a $10 per day resort fee! This was on top of the price I'd already paid on Expedia. I was not a happy person but there was not a thing that I could do about it! And although the resort itself was okay, the room was not what I had expected and I would not stay at that resort again.

I believe HotelKingdom.com does things a little differently than other hotel discounters. Many people on the Universal Hotels boards have used them to get discounted rooms at RPR, HRH and PBH with a lot of success. You may want to post your question there.

I'm not sure it was a negative experience, but here's mine. I found a really good rate for a suite hotel through hotelkingdom. I booked online; the hotel required a 10% downpayment. I gave my debit card info and assumed my card had been charged.

3 weeks later, we decide to stay onsite. I call to cancel my HotelKingdom reservation. There is a $10 fee for cancellations, but I was in plenty of time to get the remainder of my reservation back. The customer service person who took my cancellation had to ask me if I had paid a downpayment. When I told her I had and gave her the amount, she said I should get my refund within 2 weeks. I was surprised because almost immediately after speaking to her, I received a receipt for my downpayment via email.

I checked my bank account online and discovered the HotelKingdom had never processed the original downpayment until I called to cancel (not sure how/if this affected the original reservation). I waited a week for my refund and then called and emailed HotelKingdom to find out what was happening. Customer service did confirm my reservation had been cancelled. I had to leave a message for the business office, but they called me the next day and processed my refund within 24 hours of that phone call. I don't think they're completely organized, but they did seem to respond fairly quickly when I began asking questions.

:D Thanks for the replies. We are now officially booked. BrerMama, I'm glad you were able to get your deposit back minus the $10 fee.

We too are staying at Amerisuites Calypso Cay in March, got great rate of $43.88 from Hotel Kingdom, but what upgrade are you talking, and what is this free online club?

You need to go on the "official" Amerisuites Hotels site. Sign up for their frequent visitor club. This entitled us to free local calls, (although the check in guy said even calling down the street could be considered long distance so he suggested us using a cell phone if we had one to avoid a big bill), double points towards rewards (that might have been a promo at the time?), and a "better" room.

We enjoyed the hotel - pool was nice, although it was too cold so we didn't use it, rooms very clean, quiet, breakfast was great for a quick meal (yogurts, fruit, cereals, bagels, spreads, waffles (you toast these), danishs, juices, etc). You can also go to the Country Inn and use their breakfast if you want. Loved the free coffee, tea, H.C. 24 hours a day and the popcorn at night. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

We usually stay onsite, but were doing a 3 day WDW prior to our DCL and didn't want to spend tons of money. When I got a rate of $36/night I jumped on it, and you know what - we probably would stay there again. If you have any questions, you can pm me ok?

Thanks LOVETHATMOUSE sounds good we are staying there for four nights. This will be our relaxation time, so hopefully pool will be heated. Great tip on Country Suites.

HI
We've used hotelkindgom several times before, and always have had a great experience. And as with some of the others, the person checking us in cant believe the great rate we got!
