Ever feel like you were alone at WDW?

on our february 2003 trip, we had been at the mk all day, waiting on spectromagic. just as the first parade was supposed to be starting, the rain moved in and it was cancelled. the kids and i donned ponchos and propped an umbrella over the stoller and walked around, determined to stay and, hopefully, see the second spectro.

masses of people left the park when the rain started and even as it let up, they raced for the exit. we stayed, and headed for frontierland, just walking and waiting. we did see the second parade, and hopped back to frontierland to look at splash at night! we must have stayed longer than we realized, because when splash finally stopped running, we were the only people around!

like others have said, it was kind of eerie. we walked from frontierland, through adventureland, to the restrooms by crystal palace, without seeing anyone but a couple of cm's. we stopped to use the facilities, watched the castle some and finally walked down main street.

it was really neat to have the park to ourselves and really be able to see the details. but i have to admit, it was a little unnerving, especially at night. you really notice how huge the place is, and how small you are, lol! great experience, but not one that i would seek out again!

We were at WDW in Jan., 2002. We had early morning ps at Cinderella's Castle for princess breakfast before actual opening time. They were only letting people in who were on the ps list. We walked almost the whole length of MK to the castle with seeing no one. It had rained through the night, so things were glistening and the weather was warm--we have some awesome memories and photos of us "alone" in MK. AHHHHHH!!

Just this April, the week after EAster we decided to do MK on the nights it was opened till Midnight to avoid the Holiday day crowds. We were shocked on two of the last nights that we had our own boat for Jungle Cruise, the kids got to steer the whole way - pictures and memories....we did Pirates in our own boat with no one in front or behind us, rode Alladin three times in a row, and walked to frontierland to find Spectromagic coming down the street and all rope but only a handful of people. It was a Holiday week for gosh sakes. We have gone in January and it was busier. We were happy to do this once, but it really seemed strange and some of the magic was gone as crowds and other happy people are also part of what WDW is all about. We got some wonderful pictures that night and showed them to people who have waited in two hour lines the week before during the day. They didn't believe us!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce:
